We visited on Monday afternoon, with a party of four, and it was outstanding. We arrived and were seated right away in a booth, only a few customers were there. The waitress/owner stopped by and took orders. Be advised, the bartender comes in around 4 PM, so complex cocktails may not be available earlier. Their drink prices are excellent and their pitchers have a frozen middle section, keeping the beer cold. We ordered wings and 3 orders of In a Pinch, house sauce, extra hot. We had 1/2 lb of crab legs which basically gives you one cluster of 5 legs, shrimp with the head removed (you can order shrimp with the head on for a cheaper price), and green mussels. They also had the option for blue mussels. I asked for the difference and was informed the green ones are larger and the blue ones are very small. I chose the larger for less work! I am a huge seafood fan and was excited to try this Cajun boil spot! The pricing was reasonable and the service was really good. The food itself was tasty, I ordered the basics and added the blue crab (going with snow crab instead next time) however compared to other Cajun boil places I've been to the sauce was very oily. My experience with crab boils is limited, but I have been deterred from one since my last visit to one which was probably around 4 years ago. My friend was visiting in town and he absolutely loves crab boils. He suggested we go to one for the experience, good food, and to hopefully change my perspective. We went on a Friday night around 9pm and it wasn't busy which was great. Service from Roberto was prompt, kind, and informative (would 10/10 recommend him as a server). We ordered the largest boil you could get, and share, as we had 3 people. We were given little tools for the seafood as well as gloves to keep our hands clean and a wet nap for after the mess. The food came to the table in less than 10 minutes which wass amazing! As for the food itself....phewwwww! Man. I am glad my friend pushed for a seafood boil because this food was absolutely incredible. Every single part of it from the temperature, the seasoning, the amount, and variety. The seasoning was one of the best combination of flavors I have ever tasted on seafood and the shrimp/mussels etc were cooked to perfection. The only thing I would like was more crab included in the large portion as well as thicker slices of andouille sausage. Everything else was absolutely spot on! My fiance and I got the snow crab legs with the special seasoning sauce and in medium heat level. The crab was so soft and perfectly cooked and so flavorful. And that sauce or whatever they cooked the crab in.. Just beautiful! It was actually so spicy but just the right amount and it went so well with the crab; I loved it! We just both loved it! I added some of that sauce to a plain bowl of cauliflower rice no salt no nothing added to it and it really worked out well there as well. The margaritas were actually pretty good. A little sweet, but solid. Fried pickles! Hard to mess up right? It's just batter and pickles. They weren't like, "oh my god, these are amazing." They were more like, "oh, they are pickles, fried, cool." Nothing special about them. Now onto the the meat and potatoes. The crab legs were very fresh and the price was very fair. Probably one of the least expensive crab places I've been. I didn't the Mr and Mrs Crab seasoning, which is a combination of them all. Seasoning was just okay, but the freshness of the meat made up for the lack of "pop" from the seasoning. If I were to rank them among the big crab chains, they'd likely be Top 5. Something happened to this place. Whereas before, we had fast and attentive service and tasty food, the service has gone way downhill. The food is still pretty good, but it's not great. And the drinks were awful. I don't think we'll be back. We ordered a diet coke, two cocktails, a beer, some juice for the kids, two kids' meals, the fried pickles, a house salad, the fried shrimp basket, and the steamed scallops and manila clams. Everything came out pretty quickly and was piping hot on arrival. My main issue was that once the food was delivered, it was impossible to find our waitress to either ask for something or to correct an error. So we only had a single fork for the whole table, and no one came by for quite a while to ask for another fork, which meant that I couldn't eat my food. And when I asked for the fork, it never came, so I ended up using my husband's fork once he finished his salad. Frustrating. My husband asked for a diet coke, and it never showed up, but we were still charged for it. It took so long for someone to come by after our check was dropped off that we decided not to have them correct the error and instead reduced the tip with a note explaining why. (Not something I'd normally do, but at this point, my whole family was going nuts sitting at the booth, and the kids needed to get out.) My other big issue was that the quality of the mixed drinks was so poor that I had a headache a few hours later that lasted until midday the next day. My husband also had a headache. He had two drinks, I had one. I can only imagine the poor quality alcohol that could create hangovers after only a drink or two. Stick to the beer, or buyer beware. Servers wore masks throughout service, but they did not distance customers, so we were sitting very close to other unmasked people. I don't think I'll be returning.
