Grilled shrimp Po' Boy and hush puppies.
    Fran V.

Half Moon is one of the many food options Sparkman Wharf. Order and pick up at counter. I ordered a shrimp po boy with grilled shrimp. You have an option of picking grilled, blackened, and fried. The included sides are fries, hush puppies, or slaw. I went with the hush puppies because you don't get those in California. There is lots of seating to pick from but I think more needed shade covers! The sandwich was excellent - soft and chewy baguette roll, good sized shrimp cooked perfect, fresh lettuce, and a delicious sauce. $17 but I think it was worth it. I'm already craving it again!

This is a food booth in the plaza area adjacent to the cruise terminals. There is a paid parking lot. Limited menu board. I ordered the market price fried grouper for $23.50. Came with a side. I went w cole slaw. The slaw was good-homemade for sure. The two pieces of grouper were small for the price but they were good. The advertised tartar sauce was actually remoulade sauce. But good. No complaints on taste. Served in a paper boat. High tops and nearby outdoor seating was plentiful.

I always crave seafood whenever I'm by the coast, and this was a great spot to satisfy that craving. I got the fried shrimp po' boy, which was really good! Loved the sauce and vegetables they put on top, and the shrimp was yummy. I don't typically see fries this thin, but I actually really enjoyed the texture -- it's crispier than the typical fry, but still fluffy on the inside. This place is outdoors so it was pretty hot, but the breeze from ocean felt amazing, I would definitely recommend this place.

I ordered the shrimp po boy with fries with extra remoulade. The fries were fresh and crispy, the po boy had a good amount of shrimp but was a little on the plain side in terms of seasoning. Service was friendly and fast.

So this isn't exactly a restaurant... It's more of a bodega. You just walk up to the counter, order your food, and take your food back to wherever you wanna go. But, a seafood bodega is a great idea. The menu is posted. Place an order. Get hot fresh food. I ordered the fried shrimp basket. The shrimp were great. The cocktail sauce was excellent. Even the fries (which didn't look that good... Too skinny) tasted great. Food was delicious.

The fried grouper sandwich is amazing. Moist, fresh, flavorful fish, and really well seasoned breading. Fries and remoulade sauce are excellent as well. You order at a counter, highly recommend taking it to the tables by the water - a great view! The sandwich is not cheap but is 100% worth it. This place was voted Tampa's best grouper sandwich, and it meets the hype.

OH MY GAWDDDDDDD!!! The young lady behind the counter was super helpful and gave us suggestions and she was beyond right. I ordered the fried shrimp po boy with just puppies and my boyfriend ordered the Nashville hot chicken with hush puppies. We also got a side of Halfmoon sauce for the dipping. Everything was FRESH FRESH FRESH! And doo Mich flavor. I will def be craving this when I go back home.

Service was excellent and food was good, 3 stars is simply because of the pricing. The employee was friendly and answered all my questions, and I didn't wait too long considering how busy the Wharf was since I went the night of a concert. The hushpuppies could use more flavor but were good, I prefer them a bit crispier on the outside. The grouper was perfectly cooked, just could have used some salt/garlic powder--but $23 for this amount of meat is silly.

Channelside (Sparkman Wharf) is a perfect setting for enjoying some seafood! For over $20 I'm not one to fry my fresh grouper, so I tried it blackened. It was good! Not the best I've ever had, but still really good. The spicy/sweet chicken sandwich was really quite tasty and filling by itself. The BEST thing here though was the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich! Get it if you like a little heat- it wasn't any more spicy than Fire sauce at Tac The hush puppies are pretty good and the fries were obviously frozen, but seasoned well and crispy given their small size. Given the fresh nature of the food, the service was still quick. Overall, a good pick for those enjoying a nice day at the wharf. I would easily return here for the chicken sandwich.

Blackened grouper with chips. And a side of grilled shrimp.

The food was definitely fresh. The service top-tier great customer service and the ambience was pretty cool outside seating on the wharf.. If you're ever in Tampa on the wharf, a cool, nice place to get a fresh bite to eat

I have only one word for everything I eat here: fire quality ingredients . Great service, and a house law that slaps. Recommend pairing with a fresh margarita from Jotoro down the block

The best fish sandwich I've ever had. The Nashville Hot grouper sandwich. Utterly amazing. The butteriness of the fish and texture of the breading/sauce. An unforgettable bite. Little pickle and coleslaw top it off. Quick order platform from the shipping tanker and sat in the sun to enjoy. Cannot recommend more, I went twice in two days. So good.

Came here for a quick bite while I'm at Sparkman Wharf for an Elite Event, because as I've said before, one cannot live on ice cream and chocolate alone (believe me, I've tried). Half Moon was the perfect choice due to convenience and speed. For reason I don't really know, I could only be at SW for an hour and a half, so time was not on my side. Imagine my surprise when my food came out HOT and FRESH within five minutes of having ordered? I wanted something that was no-fuss, so I went with Fish n Chips. It was also their most popular and most recommended item on the menu, so why not? I would also imagine it would be fast to eat, right? The guy behind the counter was very sweet and friendly. He was patient with my dumb H&R card and tried multiple times to get the payment to process, which it did, eventually. For that, I thank him profusely. Now, the food. Well, I barely had time to sit down and process how I'm going to cram a lot of activity in an hour and a half, when my food came in. The fish was still hot from the fryer and I had to wait a minute just LOOKING at my food before I could dig in. The grouper was soft, tender, and flaky, complimented well with the breading which went great with the Cajun tartar sauce. I ate all that up quick along with the thin cut shoestring fries. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough sauce, but that's more on me since I'm in such a hurry. I would've asked, but I only had so long to be there. Still, it was the perfect food to eat outside on a beautiful, sunny wintery Florida day!

Hi ! Was wondering about gluten free options ? Is it celiac safe, as in dedicated fryer ? Thanks

I didn't see any specific mention of gluten - I'd be really surprised if they had a separate fryer. I think you'll be limited to grilled/blackened fish and shrimp. And corn, salad, collards, and Cole slaw for sides.
