I've worked with Mark at AJ Auto Clinic several times now, and every experience has been great. He has helped me with multiple situations on my cars, including my Alfa Romeo and my Hondas. One thing I really appreciate is how thorough and honest they are. On my Alfa Romeo, there was a defective headlight that needed to be replaced. Technically it was still showing as working, so it would have been easy to just leave it alone, but Mark and the team consistently followed up with me about it, even when I was the one lagging. They've also done some extensive collision work for me. Mark repaired the front end of my Honda and also did fender work on my Alfa Romeo. Both times the cars came back looking seamless and drove exactly the same as before. You really couldn't tell anything had ever happened. Auto repair shops sometimes get a bad reputation for upselling or trying to take advantage of people, but I've never felt that way here. Mark is always professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful. I actually meant to write this review the last time I was here, but it didn't post, so I wanted to make sure I came back and said thank you. I would not recommend AJS Auto Clinic under any circumstances based on my experience with my 2022 Audi Q3. My vehicle was brought to AJS in June 2025 after an insurance claim. AJS's own records reflect that the vehicle was towed to the shop on June 9, 2025. On June 20, 2025, I provided a written authorization that did not authorize any repairs, teardown, dismantling, storage charges, or lien activity. It specifically authorized Mark at AJS Auto Clinic to communicate with my insurance company, provide estimates and documentation, and coordinate claim-related activity on behalf of my company. I never signed a repair authorization permitting AJS to perform repairs on the vehicle. My insurance claim was denied on June 25, 2025. After that, I was not provided with an itemized invoice, written storage-rate disclosure, storage agreement, repair authorization, or clear written notice telling me what I owed or that storage charges were accumulating. Months later, I learned AJS was claiming extremely large storage charges and had initiated a DMV lien-sale process involving my vehicle. I did not receive the lien-sale paperwork directly from AJS. I had to obtain it on my own through a California DMV Public Records Request. The records I obtained show that the lien-sale paperwork submitted on behalf of AJS listed September 10, 2025 as both the towing/storage date and the date work/services were completed. It also claimed $2,050 in towing, $1,000 in repairs, a $300-per-day storage rate, and $8,400 in storage. Those dates materially conflict with AJS's own records showing that the vehicle had already been at the shop since June. I filed a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. BAR investigated the matter, obtained records directly from AJS, identified documentation and lien-related issues, and issued citations. Despite the regulatory investigation and the documented disputes surrounding the charges and lien-sale records, AJS continues to retain possession of my vehicle more than a year later. I am now pursuing the matter through multiple regulatory and legal channels and preserving the complete record of what occurred. This is not a situation where I simply disagreed with a repair bill or was unhappy with customer service. My experience has involved continued possession of my Audi, charges I was never properly informed of, repairs I did not authorize, conflicting information in official lien-sale paperwork, and a state regulatory investigation that resulted in citations. I would not trust AJS Auto Clinic with another vehicle, and I would not recommend this business to anyone. Consumers should understand that once a vehicle is left with a repair facility, paperwork concerning authorization, towing, storage, repairs, invoices, and lien rights can become extremely important. In my case, I ultimately had to obtain critical lien-sale records myself through the DMV in order to understand what had been submitted concerning my own vehicle. I came by, was asked to wait a few minutes for an estimate of repair. I told them that I needed to go to work within an hour. After waiting nearly half hour I reminded them i needed to go soon. Told rudely he was busy with paper work. Finally got a review of damage and told he would call me next day with repair estimate after looking for parts. Did not get a call back. I called a couple of more times and told they were still looking for parts.Called again a couple of days ago and was told I would get a call back in five minutes-- this did not happen. Mark ushered me through a process that often times, with older cars, involves discovery and complex problem solving. They decoded and fixed system, mechanical and electrical issues in my Prius and kept me informed through the entire process. Thank you for replacing my bumper with new in 1 day. Mark ordered the pumper, painted it and called me to bring the truck to his shop to replace the bumper. Which has fog lights tow hitch many sensors positions that had to be calibrated for truck autonomous self-driving to work properly. While the actual repair took much longer than expected (original quote was 1 week but actual was about 1 month), we understood it was no fault of AJ's (supply chain issues!). Mark and Michelle were always super communicative and helpful, including dealing with our insurance company and the rental car company. I hate to say we hope never to be back (for who wants to get into more car accidents), but if we ever had to, AJ's is our first stop in the area. AJ's Auto Clinic is the place to go! I called while doing a round of estimates for a repair on my trunk's shocks, a repair that I've been putting off for too long. Their price was not only the lowest, but also the only place that was able to give me an accurate estimate over the phone rather than have me do two trips for an estimate, and another trip back for the repair. So I chose this shop on the basis of affordable pricing and convenience. After my initial phone call with a very kind woman, she booked a 1-hour appointment for me to get my car fixed a few days later and everything went as expected. When I arrived, the mechanics pointed me towards Mark who helped check me in for my appointment. Mark was very kind, conversational, and the best quality customer service I've experienced in a long time. I even met AJ who was very kind to welcome me into a well-ventilated waiting room with better lighting! I chatted it up with Mark and learned that this business is actually family and close friends run, so even better. Regardless of my simple repair, I was treated like a VIP guest. The cherry on top? AJ's Auto clinic was recommended by a friend who, like me, owns a 30 year old VW Vanagon Westfalia and had it completely stripped and painted at AJ's. Process was super easy, Mark understood every detail of the job as they do several Vanagons a month (Mark gave me a tour of the shop and I could see many of them inside, what a great shop they have!). Those vehicules are very difficult to paint as many small parts, trims and seals need to be replaced. It was an easy job for AJ's as they have all of the parts in stock, as they work closely with the best suppliers around and know exactly what's going to happen when stripping a 30+ year old classic bus. Can't be happier with the results, it's been 3 years and this paint job still looks like new with a beautiful shine and stunning look. We've had extremely positive experiences with AJ's Auto Clinic. We first found it based on positive reviews and proximity to our apartment. We've taken it there on several occasions for minor issues with our car and they return it running better than before in a reasonable time frame. Mark has been incredibly kind and professional when outlining the necessary maintenance and possible repairs, providing a range of options and prices. With our limited budget and older vehicle, they have been clear about what is most valuable for us now and what can wait, even to the point of cautioning us about wasting money on unneeded service or replacement parts. I had my Kia Hybrid fixed here a year ago and I forgot that I didn't leave a review for this place! My car had these ugly bumps and scratches from some crazy drivers in San Francisco so I went to AJ's Auto Clinic to get them fixed so my vehicle would look brand new. From the moment I walked in I was greeted very kindly by Mark and a dog. At the time I went in their office there was a dog on a leash kind of just wagging his tail and I couldn't resist going in for some pets. Maybe their office mascot? I don't know, but it was adorable. Mark was very nice and reassuring that the dents and scratches would be taken care of and AJ's Auto Clinic would keep in contact with me. All of the estimates were very transparently sent to me through email. Pricing was fair for all the stuff I wanted them to do and I guess since it was my first time there I got a discounted price as well. I was able to get my car back within a week which was communicated to me promptly. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else to get my car fixed again than here. They're so nice. read more

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with AJ's Auto Body Clinic and will no longer refer our family or friends to do business with them. We went there because someone suggested them and had been doing business with them for several years. We wanted to go to the dealer, but since they are a small business, as we are, we decided to do business with them. They were to fix one wheel bearing for $220 which would take approximately three hours. Well over 24 hours later the vehicle was still not done. We had to initiate the calls continually for updates throughout the process they never called us. We finally got the vehicle back repaired (the jury is still out on this one) after over 24 hours later. Being a business owner we lost money having our vehicle unavailable to us for over 24 hours nor was any other option of transportation offered to us for meeting with our clients. The owner nor the secretary did not believe that they needed to take the steps to make us whole of at least taking off $50 due to the inconvenience but decided instead to only take off $20 after much haggling. We informed them that we would be making several complaints about their services but to no avail we were only offered $20 off for the inconvenience. Sad to see a long lasting relationship go down the drain. read more

OK. My rating might be biased as I have never done 'actual' business with these guys but they are 5 star to me and I'll tell you why. I got a 2" scratch on my new car that is barely 2 weeks old. I was so upset over the scratch that I took it to a shop immediately. The first shop I took it to was Boyd's Auto Body. They quoted me between $800 and $900 to repaint the panel, but offered to attempt to buff it out for $150.00 if I came back in 4 days. I left praying that the scratch could be buffed out without requiring a new paint job. On my way home I spotted AJ's and decided to get another quote. The owner came out and looked at my car and said the same thing, around $800. But then he said wait a sec and walked away. He returned with a cloth and some rubbing compound and started buffing it out. About a minute or two later my car was good as new. He didn't charge me a dime. He just shook my hand, said, "nice car", and walked away. Thats 5 star coolness to me. read more
