I was read ended at a red light by a driver who "dropped something and looked away for just a second". What looked like just a mangled bumper turned out to be much more than that. The first body shop I went to - recommended by her (the driver who hit me) insurance wanted to total my car. No, thank you very much. I found Husteads and decided to see what they thought. Sam was my estimator and after crawling around under my car (she got right down on the ground in the parking lot!) she said it was repairable, that they would be able to do the work and it would be covered by the other drivers insurance. Hallelujah! I dropped my car off a week later. Sam kept me updated throughout the process and on Friday of that same week the repair was complete and I was able to be reunited with my car. My car, Viper (that's his name), was purposely assaulted when an idiot brutally scratched him, damaging his own car. Insurance company recommended Husteads, and took care of initiating repair. Receptionist called to schedule appointment for me to bring car in. Upon bringing car in, Michael took care of me. He explained the process of what to expect, and called the rental company to come pick me up to get a rental. Viper was complete in 5 days, he looks good as new. Love this auto body shop! Dale and Sean legitimately saved me from a nightmare! I was sent to Husteads by Farmers for some issues with my bumper. Turns out the shop that repaired my bumper previously, used screws and glue to hold the bumper in place! Dale gave me a call to break the news to me. He even sent pics to confirm what was hidden beneath the bumper. Sure enough, there were a bunch of screws and glue, holding my sh*t together. My insurance asked that I go back to the old shop, so they can fix the damage... ...but long story short, I refused to go back to the old shop who performed questionable work on my car. Luckily, Sean obtained approval so that his shop can repair my bumper properly. Throughout the entire process, Sean and Dale were very communicative. They were very helpful also. I cannot love this place enough!!! When we were rear ended last year our insurance recommended this place. They were incredible to us. Finished before the deadline they set, communicated with us the entire time and were so incredibly friendly!!!! We dealt with Sean Schenck. I cannot rave enough about him and his customer service!!! So when I had to take my car in because of a message on my dashboard about our blind spots he took care of me again. Even though it wasn't even their responsibility because it had nothing to do with their previous work, he fixed it and took care of the oil change that our car needed but I had been postponing until Covid-19 had calmed down. He treated me like I was family the moment he took the call. You know how you always want to have a doctor and a mechanic in the family for the "hook ups" and for the "free advice" when you need it??? Well the level of service from the quality of care to the level of care they give you as an individual feels like we scored one in our family! My car was side swiped while it was parked and I needed my drivers side mirror blinker reflector replaced. I ordered the party from the car dealership, when the part came in I also had a service appt so it could be installed. Come to find out service did not want to install due to it being considered auto body. They gave me Sean's card at Husteads and I drove over to see if they could install. I chose to get my car repaired here after a hit & run because it looked reliable & only a couple blocks from where I live.To make a long story short I had several items taken from my car while in possession of this body shop and when I brought it up to the manager he told me " my guys would never steal from our customers " and basically told me that they're not responsible for missing items also that's included in the contract.To which I can sort of understand but just because it says in the contract that they're not liable for lost or missing items doesn't give them the right to go in customers cars and take items.I will never get my car worked on here ever again read more

This 5-star review is long overdue. I had to get a passenger-side mirror replaced a couple of years ago when someone somehow smashed it while I was driving down College Avenue. I bought the replacement mirror from Honda -- Honda recommended that I have Hustead's install it. I scheduled an appointment with the Market St. location, and Hustead's not only installed the side mirror perfectly -- they did the work for free! And today, I got the same stellar customer service from Dale at the Oakland Market St. location. Dale is a gem -- he was so kind to me over the phone when I called about an estimate for replacing a broken tail light. I bought the tail light assembly online (way cheaper than buying it from the dealership), brought it over to Hustead's, and lucky me, Dale was there. He remembered our conversation over the phone, and he had the tail light assembly installed right away. I was there for no longer than 15 minutes -- and just like two years ago, I was charged zero for labor! I would recommend Hustead's to anyone for their amazing customer service, professionalism, fair estimates, and quality of work. read more

A few months after the repair, which was not great, the paint started to crack. Hustead's refused to honor their warranty and said another impact in the exact same spot must have caused the cracking, although there was no sign of another impact. Another body shop told me that because the paint was cracking under the clear coat but the clear coat was not cracking, the cracking was caused by the poor repair job, not an impact. I had to pay out of pocket to fix the cracking paint. read more

Long story short, my car was swiped and my right side mirror needed replacement this last weekend. I called up Husteads because they were certified by Honda to repair a moving collision, in which Dale answered the phone. With the upmost kindness and helpful guidance throughout this week-long process, Dale was able help me replace it with only a few emails and two phone calls. He ordered my mirror to be sent over before even giving me my estimate, in order to speed up the process. He kept me updated on the ETA of arrival. He then had his team fix it during lunch hours, within 20 minutes after I arrived. He even offered to send me a Uber home if it would take too long. I had been looking for a place to fix a miner dint and decided to pull into Husteads. I was greeted by a representative whom told me how I might fix it at home myself instead of paying lots of money, since it was just a minor dent . When I asked him how would I obtain the tools, he said wait a minute, grab one of the guys in the shop and took care of for me within 10 minutes on the house. A semi blew a tire in front of my Magnum SRT8 (I waited 13 years for this car) & threw the alligator into my front grill. I had the tow take it to Husteads because I live just around the corner and they have been around since I can remember. When I got my car back the paint was all orange peel dimpled, and chipped into the fiberglass/ plastic every time a pebble hit it, leaving a bright yellow spot on my black car. Further more, the paint then started to peel and flake from that spot. Looked like no primer & one coat of paint. When I went to open the hood, I noticed the headlights didn't match. Further inspection revealed wire harnesses left unattached, hanging down by the fan. The alignment had not been checked and was waaaaay out of spec., needing new tie rods. The skid plate was missing and the wheel well mud guards were flipping around with nothing to attach to on the bottom. I took it back and the guy blew a bunch of BS at me and made a lot of promises that were never kept. So I ended up doing most of it myself. At my own cost AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE A PLAGUE RIDDEN RAT. If you have an issue with your car... go to these guys!! Dale will take care of you. Back in February/March, I came back to my car to find that my window was smashed and the electrical was ripped out so I gave them a call to fix it for me. That was right when Covid started strong and it made for slower operations, but Dale and his crew got it done and were super amazing with the following through. So 5 stars for the first go around... What really inspired me to write this review though was the second time. I came back to my car no more than a week later and someone had broken the lock and tried to hot wire it. Ever since then, my battery would spontaneously and mysteriously drain and not start. I've taken it to 5 shops since and no one has been able to figure out the problem. Ultimately, Dale wasn't able to either, but to me that's less important. What IS important is that he went out of his way to take care of me. They were still backed up from the pandemic, but he was gracious to help me get it off the street and store it on his lot despite his limited capacity until they were able to really dive in and figure out what the problem was. He could have left me hanging and he absolutely did not and I'm so grateful for that. He figured out a makeshift solution for me and most importantly he put my mind at ease after a repeated onslaught of horrendous car luck. Their shop is busy for a reason. They take care of you. I came in for a simple estimate today 2/19/20 to see how much I would have to come out of pocket to repair damage done to my driver side door & front side of vehicle. I left satisfied due to the fact that Dale was super attentive - I drove up to this shop & got out the car on my passenger side & left the shop getting in on my driver side (my driver side door was jammed due to the damage done). I stated to Dale that my main concern was being able to get in my car on my driver side - with that being said - Dale went above & beyond & was able to pop out a small dent that now allows me to get in & out my car in the driver side.
