    Garlic knots

We got a pepperoni pizza and garlic knots to start. Both were really good! It was a bit busy when we went but we were able to get seated after a few minutes. The staff were friendly and attentive as well.

When we travel we always look for Detroit pizza and when we found one in Vancouver we had to check it out ! We ordered the Thor - house made spicy sausage, meatballs & ricotta . the Frico was on point !

Amazing Detroit style pizza. The large comes with 6 and it's so cheesy and filling. Bread super fluffy. Comes out nice and hot. Took around 25 mins for the fresh deep dish pizza.

    Roni style Detroit

Was really craving Detroit-style deep-dish pizza, and AJ's did not disappoint! The place was packed, so definitely go early. Their other kitchen was under renovation, which slowed down takeout--there was a 2-hour wait, so we decided to dine in instead. Service was good, and they were upfront about the wait time. Our food took about 45 minutes, but it was worth it! The Roni Detroit was absolutely scrumptious--cheesy, crispy, and so satisfying. Personally I would've preferred a bit more cheese. But husband loved it! Also tried a slice of mushroom New York-style pizza; the crust was a bit dry, but the topping was delicious. Overall, would 100% return for the Detroit style!

    Brooklyn Sicilian $6 (happy hour)

Came on a Sunday for their all day happy hour, and absolutely LOVED the vibes here! Football games were playing on the TVs, and everyone was cheering for their team and had their favorite team jerseys on! The kitchen was super busy with doughs being tossed, pizzas being pulled out of the oven, and people picking up pizzas to go! They had 2 flavours for happy hour slices, a Brooklyn Sicilian pizza slice ($6) and a cheese ($4.25). We also ordered a mini AJ's Detroit Red Top pizza ($24). I enjoyed the Brooklyn Sicilian pizza the most, and found the cheese one pretty average. The Detroit pizza was super fresh when it came to us, and loved the fresh tomato sauce! Would definitely get the Roni Detroit next time to get some of those Ezzo Supreme Roni Cups!

    Sicilian slice of pizza

Came here for the first time and grabbed a single slice to go! Friendly staff at the front explaining what slice is available. I ordered one slice of their Sicilian - it's a square thick cut with pepperoni and meat - I really enjoyed it. Great crunch and good flavours - a little bit on the saltier side because of the pepperoni, but it was fresh and hot and had a cheesy pull from my first bite! Would come back next time for dining in with friends :)

I always like to try pizza spots whenever I travel and I must say, this one is up in my top 3 globally. I personally like NY thin crust style but they do it all here so whatever style you are into, they will have something for you and it all looked amazing. I got the uncle Roni and it did not disappoint. Best pizza I've have in a long time!

Delicious. First time we ordered from here. Had heard great things and we were not disappointed. Ordered two large for three people as we wanted leftovers and we have lots. The Juno was my favourite. Maillard definitely order from here again. Highly recommend

Perfectly done Detroit pan. The sauce was addicting and the cheese sides done right!!

So hard to find Detroit pan pizza outside of the Detroit area! What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant serving most excellent Detroit pan. We had the Ronis. I wish I was a local and not a tourist cuz you guys would be on my speed dial. Highly recommend!

    Queen Bee
    Shelyn W.

Such a solid place for good pizza and beer! We got the queen bee and it was so so delicious. I love the use of hot honey in absolutely everything so this was such a treat. Really good option of beers as well! Only downside is that the place is small and there is a good amount of wait most of the time. It is more of a bar vibe so it does get a bit loud in there, don't come here if you're expecting a quiet chat with your friends!

AJ's Brooklyn Pizza is the real deal for pizzas. The staff were welcoming and friendly. With a bar style decor, sports tv, high chairs and bar seating area the small space made for a neat Pizza joint. It was quite busy with both take out orders as well as inside, with limited seating. I enjoy the tomato sauce so much, the best tomato sauce I ever had on a pizza, you can tell the tomatoes are fresh and welled season. Just an all round great pizza. The beer on tap was cold and refreshing. Definitely enjoy my experience at AJ's Brooklyn Pizza.

    Garlic nots to start

Friday night date night and we were keen to try this place out after seeing it on Instagram. Arrived around 7:00 p.m. and it was packed with a steady line of people outside. Rookie mistake, I didn't make a reservation, so if you're planning a trip here definitely call ahead. We were told half an hour for a table but it was more like an hour and fifteen before we got in. All staff were quite friendly and provided helpful suggestions on what to eat and providing estimates on how long our wait would be. The restaurant is quite small and when busy it's jammed with people. We were seated near a large table of rowdy patrons and as a result it's quite loud and resembled more of a bar scene than a pizza joint. Our table was by the door, and due to the size and layout of the restaurant, people waiting kept hovering over our table and propping the door open which became annoying. Overall was clean and welcoming. Our table was extremely sticky though, like it needed to be resealed, and my arms and menus kept sticking to it. We started with the garlic nots which came out quickly and were amazingly good. Ample freshly grated parm, and the marinara for dipping was devine. Definitely a great start. We ordered the New York Sicilian and the Detroit red top. The Detroit red top was the fave of the two pizzas which was a surprise as it was the underdog coming in. The dough was on a focaccia style base with the same delicious sauce as the garlic nots. The sides were adorned with crunchy charred cheese. The Sicilian wasn't the favourite and admittedly wasn't what we meant to order. Not a huge fan of square pizza. The middle pieces were overly sauced which was a complete mess when trying to eat. One piece down and I was left with a sloppy plate of sauce and cheese. Dough on this one was much chewier, tasty, but not our fave. Staff were all great, but we had to ask several times for boxes for our leftovers as our server seemed to disappear near the end of our meal. She also never returned to fill our waters, but other than that she was a solid server given the number of tables in the restaurant.

    Supreme New Yorker!

Our picky 6yo son will eat some variant of this dish most of the time. The restaurant is gorgeous - brightly lit, classy, and arranged on two floors, each with a dedicated kitchen. The upstairs even has an open kitchen. Despite feeling very upscale, the restaurant is super welcoming to all, from families with kids, after-work crowds, folks on dates, and even well-dressed stockbrokers discussing their latest trades. The food was outstanding and had inspirations from Italian, Mexican and Japanese influences: 1. The kid's cheese pizza turned out really good - thin crust, Neapolitan style with slightly charred puffy crust from the wood oven. Our son ate most of it before the brick-chicken arrived! 2. The smaller dishes are meant to be shared - the Japanese Sweet Potatoes and Roasted Cauliflowers are good sides for a protein-rich entree. Wife ordered the lighter Baja Scallops and enjoyed them. 3. The star of the dinner was the Brick-Pressed half chicken. Crispy seared crust and super-moist meat underneath. Unlike many places they added a bit of spice from the chilis and even mixed in some beef tallow for additional richness. Our son enjoyed it too, and was not fazed by the slight heat from the chilis. A crispy skin always elevates a chicken! Highly recommend Nightingale for epic food, great service, and welcoming vibe. Reservations are available but make them early. The restaurant was packed even on a Wednesday evening!

Service was very quick, friendly and engaging. I really liked the chicken nice coating and crisp to it. Pizza was underwhelming - tasted a bit burnt to be frank. rest of the dishes had nice flavor - however didn't have much of a wow factor - Good place to try out - maybe one day will be back to explore the menu -

They quickly jumped at my presence and returned to their stations as if they're caught slacking off. First idea was to order a deep dish but a few moments later upon entry I decided otherwise. I opted for 2 slices and a pop. Meatloaf and cheese. The sever didn't bother to warm them. They were dry and like old pizzas. Taste is okay/sub/average considering the price but very unlikely I will return.

I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pizzas here. They offer a variety of veggie and meat pizzas that can be made with regular crust or deep dish style. We ordered a small deep dish margharita ($19.99) and a medium deep dish butter chicken ($23.99) pizza. Both weren't true deep dish pizzas, but the crust was nice and thick. I'd recommend the pizzas here to anyone who likes a breadier crust. My only minor complaint is that the pizzas didn't have enough sauce to complement the thick crust. The pizzas kept well for leftovers too. They tasted just as good the next day heated up in our toaster oven.
