This place looks new and opens early (7am) so I stopped by only to find out there is no attendant. This is purely handled via app/touch screen and using a drop box. It was unclear if they actually dry clean or only do laundry. They have bags and small forms to fill out and drop your bag in their box. I called the number listed for help and no one picked up. I got a call back as I left and a person told me the price for a dress could range from $18-$24 and vary based on when it was needed. Sort of a vague answer as to price and when this could be done. Worst dry cleaners. Everything I've ever used them for had to be ironed before I wore it. They constantly put creases in my pants when there was instructions for "no creases" on my account. The only reason I used them was bc of convenience. When they mess up they offer to redo it instead of giving you a refund. I have been using AJ's Cleaners for about 2 years now. They are by far the best dry cleaners I've used. In all the time I've been a customer, not once have they lost an article of clothing nor a button gone missing. They offer same service, returning clothes before end of day. It is conveniently located right next to where I work so it is easy enough dropping off or picking up. The new owners are fabulous people. They have a mom and pop sort of vibe. Like a local general store in a small town sort of feel. I actually look forward to visiting and usually stay a little just to chat for a bit. I would recommend AJ's Cleaning to anyone who is in need of an exceptional dry cleaner. Note : They do offer discount on specific days so do keep an eye out for that. read more

I along with 50 other individuals were in Charlotte for about 3 weeks for work training. We were given a certain amount of $$ to spend on laundry every week and therefore, had to budget and plan our laundry trips accordingly. The first time I went to AJ's, she was very friendly and took my clothes to wash, dry, and fold. She charged me $48 which I thought was pretty steep for the amount of clothes I had given but I didn't think anything of it and moved on. When I got my clothes back, she gave me SOMEONE ELSE'S clothes in addition to mine which was just careless on her part. The second time, I took in less clothes to wash, dry, and fold. She told me it weighed 24 lbs and so, $72... I was speculative (because that would be half my suitcase) but didn't say anything at first. I then came back and asked to see the scale. She reweighed my clothes and says "oh, actually they're 26 lbs" I looked at her and said "the line is between 10 and 20 lbs, how does that make sense????" and she proceeded to say "oh, you're right, it's 13 lbs"....... she didn't even apologize. How do you confuse 13 with 24 lbs?????? She has one job and it's to read a scale accurately and to charge customers fairly. Her lack of apology and similar instances like mine prove that she is overcharging on purpose and is downright careless. Other instances: -she lost one of my colleague's dress shirts and he went back twice but no luck. -A lot of my colleagues complained about the steep pricing for what little clothes they brought but we had no other choice. -one colleague received wet clothes that were folded -another colleague's clothes were misplaced for a few days Luckily, we found another cleaners nearby and will be going there for the remainder of our trip. I would like to add (in response to below) that AJ's Cleaners is not out of anyone's budget otherwise we would not make frequent trips here. I absolutely understand the meaning of a premium, that's primarily why I went to AJ's for the second time. However, customers expect quality, care, and one's attention. Now I've been using AJ for six months and it is time to write a review. I would give 3.5 stars if there is that option. Pros 1. They did the job. My clothes are clean and have been ironed as the way they should be when they are backed to me. 2. They offer pick-up and delivery. I live in an apartment uptown, and I can simply drop my clothes at the concierge. 3. The online account is easy to navigate. I am able to see if my clothes are sent out for delivery, how much I have been charged, etc. Cons 1. The price are at a high point. There are several dry cleaners around, and I do not see AJ's price matches its service. The service is good, but not cost effective. 2. The timing is not accurate. It happened to me several times: when I sent my clothes for dry clean or alternation, the agent told me a date that the service will be done. Later on the clothes were not sent back to me on that date. I had to call and asked about when and where and why and how. It was very annoying, as I expected the service to be perfect when the price is like that high. 3. The pick-up is always delayed. According to AJ, the concierge person at my apartment should call to let AJ know that there is a bag to be picked up. According to my concierge person, AJ should just check the room where all the need-to-pick-up dry clean bags are and pick them up. I don't know who is the correct one, but the truth is that my dry clean bag sometimes stayed at the concierge for days. Then I need to call AJ to ask them to pick up. Again, if I'm charged at a premium price, there should be premium service, huh? Overall, I would suggest that if you have something difficult to do (especially alternation), AJ is a place that you should consider. If you are looking for just some basic service, there are definitely other places that you can go to. read more

I'll start by listing the Pros and Cons, then elaborate a bit further for those looking for details. Pros: * Conveniently located immediately outside of Holiday-Inn * Offers a wash and fold service along with dry cleaning Cons: * Inconvenient hours of operations. AJ Cleaners is only open Monday through Friday; so if you're off work late and need to clean your clothes -- tough. * Washed clothes are return folded, but still wet. * Not all your articles of clothing will be returned. AJ Cleaners is notorious for misplacing your clothes. * Not all the clothes you receive back will belong to you. Again, this establishment is notorious for misplacing yours and someone else's clothes. * Customer service is abominable. Just when you thought you've set some low expectations, they will go below that expectation. Bravo! AJ Cleaners currently have 12 reviews, of which 2 are 1-star ratings. Both ratings highlight very similar experiences with AJ Cleaners lack of professionalism and terrible customer service skills. The older review of the 1-star rating describe how AJ Cleaners lost her dress, but yelled at her about it. The recent 1-star review, AJ Cleaners decided to respond back to the reviewer with insults tacked into their "apology." AJ Cleaners incorrectly weighed her clothes and charged her triple the amount they should; however, in their written response with their "apology," they insulted her by repeatedly insisting that she and her 50 colleagues were "unable to afford" their services. I traveled to North Carolina for business and used AJ Cleaners for laundry services due to its convenient location. Just like the other reviewers, I received my laundry back wet, but folded neatly in a bag. It makes me question if their hands don't feel the wetness while folding. One friend lost a sweater, while another friend lost several left socks - just the LEFT ones. WHY? What does AJ Cleaners have against the left sock? Why would a business provide such sloppy service? Are they not looking for return customers since they're counting on the visitor/hotel guests? AJs is a very family oriented business that delivers great quality! Not to mention makes it effortless to get your clothes dry cleaned. They have a great location uptown and same day service available or if you are more consistent they just started offering free weekly pick up and delivery (even to Sedgefield!) The couple that owns the cleaners has their son take care of drop off and delivery and he very trustworthy/polite and always accommodating, and he loves dogs (lucky for us). They ruined a new jacket. Directions said to dry clean. They laundered it. The leather was wet for over a week. Coat had black spots all over it. Owner only reimbursed me the money for Cleaning jacket. And basically called me a liar by saying they didn't wash the jacket. Although it was delivered soaking wet. I tried to dry it out for a week and it was still wet. Owner was arrogant and rude to me. Since I moved to this area I have been loyal to them but will look for another dry cleaner and tell everyone I come in contact with at my complex where they service. read more

The worst dry cleaners ever with the shittiest customer service. Don't come here unless you want the staff to lose your stuff and then insist to your face that you're confused and you've already picked it up while yelling that they wouldn't steal your clothes. I put in my brand new, $270 Club Monaco dress for cleaning last Thursday and flew out Thursday evening to New York. I came back on Monday to collect my clothes and the guy says someone has already picked up my clothes. I give him the receipt stub and he insists that I've already picked them up on Friday. He shows me the log where it says it was picked up on Friday and that must have been me. I patiently explain to him that I flew out of Charlotte on Thursday so there is no way I could have picked it up on Friday. He insists that it was me and starts yelling things like "You're confused okay! Go back and check" and "I'm asian, I wouldn't steal your clothes!" and things like "Do you think I would steal your dress? Do you think I want to wear your dress?". I told him of course I don't think you would steal my dress, but I think you might have mixed it up with someone else's laundry, can you take a closer look for me?" He shows me one other black dress that he has under "Misa" and says it's obviously not my name. He tells me he can't help me and literally shoos me out of the shop. I have never, in all my life, been subject to such disgustingly rude customer service. Do you realize you're an establishment that provides services to other people? Maybe you're too uneducated and stupid to realize that. Alright, can you at least be a decent human being? A functioning member of society? It's human nature to help others out when they see that they're distressed. Alright, let's say you are a barely functioning baboon that really should be locked up somewhere eating your own feces. Can you at least not insult me and yell at me? It's your fucking fault you lost my skirt and yet you are the one that's yelling at me while I am trying to explain the situation? You can't even check with the other Misa customer to see whether you've gotten your clothes mixed up? You lost my fucking dress and you can't even be bothered to do some basic investigation for me? Mere words cannot describe how poorly I think of that disgusting piece of slimed up mucus ball that's been ingested by a sow and excreted out the other side poor excuse of a man. I take down the number of this "Misa" girl from the tag on the dress and I call her and ask her to check her laundry. She says she actually got my dress by mistake now that she's taken a closer look at it and will return it tomorrow. So, basically, they gave my dress to some other person WHO DID NOT HAVE MY STUB. I'm pretty sure that's illegal. That is a major lapse of security. Just imagine, if someone with a similar name as you asked for their laundry and got your expensive suit and did NOT give it back to you. The next day I go to collect my dress. The guy is not apologetic at all. He's on the phone, hands me the dress and just motions with his hand that I should leave. WOW. All other dry cleaning companies would have been ashamed of themselves and have given the customers a coupon for a free launder or something to make up for the hassle. Not this guy. Not this sniveling pile of maggot meat here. I ask him, "So you said I'm confused? I told you you mixed up the laundry." He says, "Oh the name is similar." Similar MY ASS. The other girl's name is MISA my name is RENA. How the fuck is that similar. I understand that mix ups happen. People make mistakes, it's life. But not helping your customers when your mistake has cost them dearly? Insulting your customers? Not owning up to your mistakes? Not even trying to compensate for the time/ energy/ money lost? This really is a first. It was really good luck that I was able to find my $270 dress from Club Monaco since the store clerk was less than useless. I will never be doing business with them again and I highly encourage anyone and everyone else to do the same. I work just above the dry cleaner's building so it's really convenient for me to dry clean there but it really just isn't worth the monetary loss and hassle. I was so upset all afternoon because I really liked that dress and I had just bought it a month ago for a whopping $270! Which I would have lost if I had not called Misa and resolved the problem by myself - they sure weren't any help! SUMMARY: (for TLDRs) 1. They gave my laundry to someone else even though the other person did not have my ticket stub. 2. When i asked them about it they insulted me to my face and refused to help me. 3. I tracked down the girl who they mixed up my dry cleaning with and got my clothes back. 4. I would have lost $270 dress if I hadn't called the girl myself 5. So I stopped in on the morning of my exam to see if there was anything that could be done and I was helped immediately. Not only was the price great but the results exceeded my expectations - they were able to remove the ink stains and I picked it up just a couple hours later. I knew I had a demanding request and they were able to not just meet it but have it ready early. Because of my hectic work schedule, I used AJ's for the convenience. However, I kept noticing that my clothes didn't have any starch on them...like none at all. I went in to talk to them about it and they assured me that from that point on, I'd receive heavy starch. Still, nothing. I went in there with a shirt and expressed my concerns. Their response was, "Some of the material the shirts are made of doesn't allow starch to stay, and the sleeves are blown with are not pressed, but we will iron your sleeves." Ok, that sounds some what reasonable, however, after two other delivers my clothes still look terrible. The final straw was, I had a pair of jeans dry cleaned with heavy starch and they came back with zero starch or creases--and they look like I pulled them directly out of the dryer. They are hands down the best dry cleaners in town. I used to switch dry cleaners frequently. Everywhere else in town does a terrible job, at least in my experience. AJ's has the best quality I have yet to find anywhere, the friendliest staff, and they are willing to work with you. Their location is awesome since its right in the middle of the city, parking is a bit of a pain, but it's not a huge deal for me. I rather go somewhere where my close are cleaned, and pressed, properly than somewhere that has a big parking lot and terrible service. Not to mention that it is the nicest storefront I've yet to see in a dry cleaners. From my experience many are run down and dirty... Why would I want to get my clothes cleaned a place that doesn't even dust its counter top?
