We are new to the area, and my husband has been using American Dry Cleaners for the past few months. Their service has been excellent, and he especially loves their pickup service. Our items are always ready on time, and the quality has been consistent. What truly prompted me to leave this review was how they came to the rescue for my husband's surprise party. The suit he had ordered did not arrive in time, and the backup suit he had was previously stained by another dry cleaner. The stain had never been removed, so he asked American Dry Cleaners if they could try. Not only were they willing to take it on, but they were incredibly kind and kept him updated by calling to let him know they successfully removed the stain. That suit saved the night. Their customer service and care went above and beyond, and they truly came through when we needed them most. American Dry Cleaners has earned customers for life. I had to find a new cleaners because the one that I had by my home closed permanently due to COVID-19. I dropped off two pair of dress slacks, and a dress jacket for cleaning. The dress slacks also had 1 cuff to be fixed at the bottom hem. When I picked up my items, they were neatly pressed, but the cuff on the burgundy pants was fixed with black thread. Its slightly more visible then on the brown plaid pair of dress slacks. Stitching is also off which is noticable on the slacks. Star removed for that. read more

Their price point is a little too high for me. 7 dollars a dry clean a sweater come on. I don't know maybe I'm just used to the prices in New York and New Jersey. No, I live in Charlotte and I got the right place. American Dry Cleaners ruined my bag. I just had to walk away from my designer handbag because it's obvious your company does not know how to dye or work with leather. It's a skill your business clearly does not possess. I'm not the only person who had their bag messed up my your cleaners. I send my friend to your establishment first and she told me her bag came back stiff and hard, after she gave it to you guys for cleaning. Oil has to be added back to the leather since it is a skin, but you guys don't know anything about that because you are not skilled enough and have no experience as leatherworkers or tanners. This is important if you claim to restore leather. I found your listing of services where handbags are concerned to be very misleading and it cost me money. Shame on you! read more

This dry cleaner is down the street from my house but I was a little skeptical because the outside doesn't look like much. I have taken my dry cleaning there multiple times and have never been disappointed with their work. I've had sweaters, dresses and skirts cleaned here and never any damage or lost items. The service is friendly and to the point and they send you an email when your items are ready for pick up. I would highly recommend this dry cleaner! read more

UPDATE: This was originally a one-star review, but I have decided to change it to three stars as the owner of the business took his time to call me personally and apologize for the unusable state of my ties after having them cleaned at American Dry Cleaners. He offered to refund me for the charge I received for having my first tie "fixed" and he also offered to fix my second tie. I declined based on the quality of repair my first tie received and told him that although I appreciated it, I would be visiting another tailor. He also offered to refund me for the cost of the tailor's repairs, something I greatly appreciate. I have altered my rating not only out of appreciation for his phone call and gestures, but because my conversation with him made me think that my experience may have been more of a fluke than the norm. Terrible dry cleaners. I had them dry clean my suit, including three ties. When I went to pick them up, they told me one of the ties had come apart, and I'd have to wait a few days to pick it up. When I did pick it up, they charged me extra for fixing it, even though they had messed it up! Furthermore, they didn't even do a good job fixing it. The tie was lumpy and uneven. To make matters worse, I reached for another tie today that they'd cleaned, and it had come unstitched completely! Another tie rendered useless. I'll have to pay even more now to have a real tailor fix my ties. I will NEVER give American Dry Cleaners my business again, and I don't think anybody else should. read more

I am really bad about getting spots on my clothes where taking my favorite Izod fleeces that my wife buys me to two of our neighborhood dry cleaners as well as a dry cleaner by my office they came back with the same spots. I checked Angie's List for the Charlotte dry cleaner with the most possitive reviews and American Dry Cleaners topped the list by far. I took two fleeces where I thought the spots will never come out and the friendly woman at the counter said we should have no problems with them...did not even have me put tape or anything on them. She said if they come back needing attention still point them out and we will run them thru again. I picked them up and no traces of the spots that three other dry cleaners said could not be removed. I called the facility to verify with employee the wash and fold service removed stains. The representative advised they will remove the stains. I received my towels back with stains and they overcharged saying I had 8 lbs. I went home to weigh towels and it was 6 lbs. I called to complain to the manager and she was very rude. I asked for the owner name and she hung up on me. They have poor customer service and service was horrible. read more

Outstanding! I called around as last minute thing (really last minute) to have my comforter dry cleaned before I headed out of town as I was having someone stay at the house and didn't want them to suffer under my dog hair covered comforter but this thing was not fitting in my washer at all. Every place I called was not able to accommodate me and I can't blame them as I waited until the weekend before I was leaving basically I needed my comforter cleaned same day. On a Saturday :/ finally I got ahold of the nicest lady at American dry cleaners and she let me know she wasn't sure if they could have it done that fast as they usually take about 3-4 days on household items especially king size comforters but that she would check with the staff. She came back and let me know that they would be happy to get it done for me and the icing on top for me was that they even ended up having a better price! This place has been open in Charlotte since 1921 and for good reason! Great customer service amazing work too my comforter looked brand spankin new! They have a small parking lot out front and are open all week and Saturday's closed Sunday's and they have some coupons available here on yelp! Def check them out! read more

Honestly, I love america for businesses like this. These guys do a phenomenal job at what they do, just amazing. Service is quick, knowledgable and incredibly courteous. they know what they are doing. they are open saturdays. i drive out of my way to go there, and its just a dry cleaner. also they do all the work on premises, which i think is a good thing. read more

Once was a big fan of American Dry Cleaners, but as of late, the service has been anything but acceptable. Melted buttons on sports coats, lost buttons, buttons loosely put back on my sports coat, and missing buttons. Maybe it's part my fault for not checking, but when you pay for a service, especially as much as they charge, you expect all clothing to be right! After removing the plastic of a sports coat to be worn tomorrow, I noticed that on my three button coat, the bottom button on the front was not there. After closer inspection, a sleeve buton on the left arm was missing, and that second button was so loosely sewed on, that it would have fallen off after the first buttoning. This is not the first instance of this, many times I've asked to make sure that buttons aren't melted and replaced tightly back on the coat. I guess they didn't care much of my request. American Dry Cleaners on Graham St., I will be stopping through in the morning...just gotta let you know of my disappointment. Excellent service! Flew in from out of town and needed next day service. Arrived just before they closed but they were very accommodating and patient with me. Needed dry cleaning and wash/fold and got it for a very reasonable price. Clean clothes were packaged well with no issues. They even delivered my clothes to my hotel a few miles away by 5p the next day. I couldn't have asked for any better service! read more
