We both had something different and neither of us really liked our choice very well. I had the J Crew breakfast. 3 meats, eggs, hash browns, and biscuit. Bacon was way too done and brittle, country ham piece looked good but it was so tough it was even hard to cut, let alone chew, and was much too salty. The sausage - ummm, it was a round patty, but seriously unrecognizable, and almost black in color. I tried a small piece of it but nope, it was not even edible. I just thought how could they even feel good about serving this stuff. Hash browns were not even consistent. Some were crispy and good while another part of the pile were nearly raw and not cooked through at all. Even the biscuit fell flat because it was flat. Not a fluffy southern biscuit that i had hoped for. Wife's breakfast was similar and she wasn't able to finish it, nor was I which rarely happens. We love going out to breakfast and it's usually one of our favorite meals to eat out but this just didn't cut it. Maybe there was just a new cook that day or maybe he was having an off day but it really didn't check all the boxes for us sorry to say. A couple of high points however was the coffee was really good, and the service was great. We'll give it another try at some point but for now we're going to keep on exploring.

I immediately messaged my Dasher but never received a response. When I called Drake's in Danville, I was hoping they could simply help make it right. Instead, they completely exceeded my expectations. The manager sincerely apologized, had a fresh burger made immediately, and then HE personally drove it to my home to make sure I had my meal while it was still hot. That level of customer care is incredibly rare today and says everything about the kind of leadership and team Drake's has. Ironically, after everything had already been resolved, my Dasher finally replied saying I would need to contact the restaurant, even though I had left a generous holiday tip. Mistakes happen, but what truly matters is how a business responds. Drake's turned a disappointing situation into one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. Thank you for going above and beyond, especially on a busy holiday. Left with a ton of new knowledge, a few classics, and something new to try. I cannot recommend this place enough; worth a trip no matter where you are in Kentucky. If you get anywhere in a few hours drive you should stop in and prepare to spend some time. Follow a tea visit up with a trip to the Arts Center, Cafe, and gift shop - perfect day.
