ABSOLUTELY SICK! Came craving BBQ like any other person and what I got was pure disgust. Ribs were all completely undercooked and separated, smelt like literal animal feed. Lady was nice and all but the place also stunk. I didn't get a single smell of BBQ or smoking meats the whole time. Baked beans tasted like pure molasses and looked like they must've been canned. Same thing with the potato salad. Extremely sorry excuse for anything other than a stop for alcohol. Cook at home people, or drive to Lexington for City Barbecue if you're that desperate. read more

I'd like to include a pic of the food but we were too busy inhaling! I got the taco trio (liked the pork and chicken best - not so much the Kahlua pork w pineapple slaw) with a side of fried cabbage. The cabbage was fantastic. The better half got dry smoked wings and onion rings. I highly recommend both. The onion rings were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The wings were perfection. He got the tangy and sweet bbq sauce on the side and, although the wings stood on their own, the tangy was a lovely little flavor dip. On a side note, I used the restroom before going in. The better half heard me yelp and was a little concerned... As it turns out, this ball of fur came under the bathroom stall - scared the sh!t out of me (but not literally). Ate here a year or so ago and thought the food was amazing. Came back to sadly the worst BBQ we have ever had. They only give you to go containers. Side cups were about half full. It's obvious the Mac and cheese and French fries are not homemade. Green beans smelled rotten. Ribs and brisket were both tough but otherwise would have had some potential flavorwise. The bathrooms were the most disgusting I have ever seen in a "restaurant". Women's restroom didn't even have a functioning light. read more

The bbq was delicious. We loved the ribs, pulled pork, taco trio, brisket and chicken. The sides we had (baked beans, fries, and onion rings) were also wonderful. The blackberry cobbler was an amazing dessert. The owner and the staff were friendly and gave us great advice for places to see while we are here in Kentucky. We truly enjoyed our visit and will be back next time we are in Lancaster. read more

I have to admit, pulling up to this restaurant it looked very strange to me. The first thing you see walking up to the restaurant are the bathrooms. We had a cute little puppy lead us to the side of the building that is the main entrance. The restaurant is casual and super small. It appeared they are renovating the patio. I also noticed they had a very nice selection of local draft beer. If I drank beer, I'd be super stoked to see that. Now to the important part, THE FOOD. We ordered a starter. I don't remember what it was called but it was basically house chips topped with brisket and cheese sauce. It was a nice big portion and very good! The smoked meats were DELICIOUS. I ordered the brisket, it was perfect. Also ordered at my table were the ribs and a cheeseburger. Both were said to be fantastic. Things we did not like was the slaw and the smoky sauce. We will definitely return to enjoy the great BBQ and patio! read more

Well I was looking for a quick and easy barbecue meal, Bradford BBQ does not disappoint! I got the brisket and an order of the pulled pork as burgers plus the beans, potato salad, mac & cheese and the green beans. All amazing! It's a pity that these guys don't have as many reviews as of 10/9/2021, I only did takeout so I can't speak to their bar atmosphere but from what I saw it looks very professional and well-stocked with all kinds of lovely things. Would recommend five out of five definitely go check them out if you're looking for a decently priced BBQ joint. read more

Omg, best hidden secret and it's right around the corner from my farm in Danville. They better get use to seeing us! Had a spiked cider and a beer, both were amazing! Had the pulled pork plate with onion rings and potato salad; best potato salad I have ever had! My daughter had the pizza and a side of Mac and cheese; both were amazing! The atmosphere was great and so was the service. We sat out in the patio and watched the sun set over the valley. read more

Great stop for lunch on our way bourbon tasting. We had the Pork and Brisket plates with baked beans, slaw, potato salad, and the Mac & cheese. The Pork was cooked perfectly and extremely moist. We were driving around our surrounding counties and looked to Yelp to see what Restaurants were around. We found Bradford BBQ, saw all of the good reviews and decided to give them a try. It's located on the grounds of the Governor William Owsley House, also known as Plesant Retreat. It is a grand historic home that is now a museum. The grounds are beautifully kept and while there are a few seats inside the BBQ building, there is plenty of adorable outdoor seating options. It was the end of a pretty day, so we chose to sit outside and enjoy the breeze coming over the hilltop. The staff is incredibly friendly and there was also a beautiful resident cat wondering around. You order inside, and they bring the food to you. The ribs were perfectly cooked and the brisket was juicy, full slices, including the fat, which immediately won my husband over! The smoke and quality were excellent on both. The beans seemed a little over cooked, but we were eating them 30 minutes before closing time, so I can understand that. The tangy slaw, although not my favorite, was not overwhelmed with dressing (just a slight amount of it), and was still crunchy, so it was obviously fresh. They have a choice of 3 sauces; sweet, tangy and smoky. Those were all very good in their different ways. The sweet sauce is your typical Memphis-style bbq sauce, while the Tangy is more of a Carolina-style mustard based sauce. The smoky sauce tasted like it had a tabasco base, was slightly spicy but wasn't burn-your-face hot. I really love it that they offer paper straws and compostable take out containers instead of your typical plastic and styrofoam. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can't wait to return! read more

I tried Bradford's in Lancaster last night with friends. It is located in the Carriage Barn on the Owsley House grounds. You order inside at the counter and then seat yourself. There were a few seats inside but it is a very small dining area. We opted to sit outside as they have very nice grounds with picnic tables and a few other seating areas. I ordered the pulled pork plate with bacon potato salad and mac and cheese. The pork was good and had a nice smoke. We went back inside to get sauces and the Sweet sauce was good. No one at our table tried the other 2 they had. The potato salad was more of a mashed potato salad and not my favorite nor did anyone else at the table care for it. The mac and cheese on the menu said it was a 5-cheese mac and cheese but it had a very liquid sauce and hardly any cheese flavor at all. One of our party got the pulled pork sandwich with sweet slaw and did not eat even half of it because he did not like the slaw. Another in the party got ribs which they said were very good and bourbon baked beans which they liked also. Another got the pasta salad which they did not care for. Everyone in our party like the meats but not the sides with the exception of the baked beans. read more

Bradford Barbecue in Lancaster was a surprise in every single way. After living in Lancaster my entire life, I have come to expect very little from the local cuisine. However, Bradford Barbecue is looking to change all of that. The first thing I noticed as I pulled up to the restaurant was how incredibly beautiful the venue is. They have done so much with the place and feels like a proper hangout for locals that is sure to draw in regulars, which I intend on becoming. Secondly, the staff were all incredibly friendly. They let you know immediately that you are welcome there and you soon find out this is a nice, yet informal dining experience. My girlfriend and I were asked FIVE times how are meal was by 3 different people that we saw working the dining room. Finally, the food and the prices are incredible. I loved everything that I ordered, from the sides to the deliciously smoked pulled pork. My girlfriend felt the same way about her meal. To top it all off, our wonderful meal and experience only costed me $19 for two people to get stuffed and have plenty to take home for lunch the next day. Seriously a great restaurant. Lancaster needs this place. read more
