The food is good. Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura not greasy and the batter doesn't fall off. Maintained crispness to the last bite. Aki Seafood Hot Pot mild spicy curry sauce is my fav. Lobster tail, nice size scallops and shrimp. Thai Mango shrimp dish was too sweet. The service was great. Chef went around to greet guest. The restaurant is a nice size and clean. They deliver Street Parking is problematic

Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box Lunch Special

Came here with a friend on a weekday for lunch. Very affordable lunch specials with very quick service! I replaced my California roll for a sweet potato roll which was yummy. The only thing I didn't truly love was the chicken. It was a little weird tasting to me and I didn't love the veggies it came with. I'm used to broccoli and carrots but this was different. Just my own preference I guess. I love miso soup which this meal came with and it was delicious!

Went to a Aki for the first time last week with a friend for a quick lunch catch up. It's a pretty standard Japanese place. It wasn't busy for dine in for lunch and service was great. Our waitress was on top of everything, refilling waters and checking in on us which was nice. I enjoyed my lunch. The scallion pancakes were definitely the highlight though. They were super crispy and flaky and just all-around delicious. I like that the lunch specials are highly customizable with a lot of different options, including rolls, soup and salad. I really liked the wonton soup that I got. All in all I'm happy, I got to try a new lunch spot and I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in the area.

Very fresh sushi & sashimi! (Sashimi Appetizer, Sushi/Sushi and Sashimi Combo, Naruto Roll, Fire Belle Roll, and Flying Fish Roe Sushi)

We went to Aki for my bf's birthday after we couldn't make it for a reservation at another restaurant. I saw some of the negative reviews on Yelp but after dining here, I honestly don't understand how they have a bad rating! The service was amazing, the waitress (sadly I didn't get her name) was really energetic, very polite and just great. The food was fresh and so yummy! Sashimi and sushi was spot on. The General Tao's Chicken was delicious, my bf finds a lot of places don't get the sauce right or the texture is odd but Aki has the recipe to perfection. Price is reasonable. Also the waitress was more than happy to help me put the cake in the fridge, take it out with candles prepared and the custom topper I bought. In the rush of getting the cake and everything I had forgot candles and lighter, thankfully Aki had some on hand. You're a lifesaver! The only cons I would have is that the restaurant was a bit cold- our table was right next to the door so it would be expected. And the bubble tea was more of a slush with a lot of tiny crushed ice, bubbles were a bit hard. But for $4 and convenience, not bad. All in all it was a lovely dining experience. Very glad we found this place, would come here again if I'm in the area. Tips for parking! Street parking was hard to find and we arrived around 5pm on a Friday, Glenwood Garage is just around the corner next to the Buy-Rite Wine & Liquor store. It's a 2 min walk from the restaurant. It was only $1 a hr (unheard of?? Cheapest parking I've ever seen lol) and for 2 hrs max. But additional is $1 per hr I believe? Not sure tbh. We stayed just slightly over and it only charged me $2. Lots of parking spots available.

I've ordered delivery for years but this was my first time visiting their location. Paid parking is the only option but it's cheap and a few short steps away. Once I got inside it was absolutely freezing with the A/C on blast. So if you are sensitive like me I would recommend a light jacket or scarf. So I ran to the car to grab a jacket and by the time I returned the A/C had been lowered. I thought that was so kind of the staff to notice and do something about it. The interior was spacious and the ambiance was dimly lit with bright trimming. The setting actually works perfect for a family meal, business eats and a romantic date. The service was made up of some very warm and welcoming employees that checked up several times to make sure we were taken care of. And I noticed that there was a long standing patron enjoying a mini conversation with the owner before the rest of their party arrived. So I knew that these folks provided great customer service on site. As for the food, I can't speak to anything raw since I do not eat it but when I tell you these people are consistently good- I mean it. Their food is always fresh and tasty. And the packaging for delivery remains in tact. Between the conversation and the ambiance I was surprised to see how fast those 4 rolls disappeared between our party of 2. I've ordered fried ice cream from one too many places and they all taste the same. So next time I will try the mochi ice cream instead.

Pad Thai delivery NO SAUCE LOL. OMG IS THIS A JOKE?!?! A twenty dollar dish and they wouldn't even do anything about it. Good luck.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! First off, it's so expensive. Second let them mess up your order, they will not compensate. Take a look at what they sent me as a pad Thai dish lol. No sauce. Just dry noodles and shrimp and peanuts. Wow. The soup we ordered wasn't just awful but there were three strands of GRAY HAIR!! Omg stay away!!!!!! if you do decide to order from here and they mess it up. Trust me you will not get any kind of help. I ordered pad Thai originally. I told them do not add tofu. I even called the restaurant to tell them don't add tofu. I put it in the notes. The manager said yes we saw it and I told him we wouldn't send it. My daughter is allergic to tofu. What did we find? Tofu all over the dish. Luckily I'm the mother I am because if I had fed that to my daughter, it would've been a lawsuit the one they sent me today. They left out the sauce so completely forgot to put sauce in. It called them to tell them about it and she justified why she didn't put sauce. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

First time here and the sushi was amazing, but the service was lackluster. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken shortly after. After we received our drink the woman who was helping us hurried to the kitchen and didn't come back for about 12 mins. That happened all throughout our meal. The rolls were delicious! Fresh and flavorful. We had the shrimp temperature roll, spicy crab roll, and a specialty roll I can't remember. The shrimp tempura was everyone's favorite, so we ordered another round. Best thing about this sushi location is that they offer more options than just sushi, so non sushi eaters can enjoy a meal here. On the menu I seen rice dishes and other dishes like general tso chicken. If your around the area this place is worth the try.. hopefully it isn't packed so the waitress can give you an adequate amount of attention.

This was terrible. Ordered pad thai, chicken teriyaki and sushi rolls. Pad thai was basically boiled noodles with some sauce thrown on it and a few pieces of chicken that looked like it came from some other chicken dish. Chicken teriyaki more of the same. Basic and no flavor really. California rolls were decent. I wouldn't eat from here again

Amazing food, really fresh, I ordered some Sushi, gyoza, and Pad Thai, everything was really delicious. Honestly it was hard to find Sushi place that's open and deliver and it's decent during this Pandemic going on. I was pleasantly surprised. Delivery lady was awesome too, she literally ran up my stairs so I don't have to wait, and super nice. They are little bit pricy but in my opinion for a reason. It's worth it. I'll definitely order again.

Plus, my husband is a fan of their dairy-free chocolate chip cookies, so the Montclair location is a late-night haunt. My dude sticks to his usual order, but I like to try out the limited recipes when they drop. My favorite so far has been Strawberry Shortcake Chip Crookie. Heads up, the crookies are really like muffins. Anytime I've gone inside the shop to pick-up, the people behind the counter are always friendly and have a good vibe. Chip City is a franchise that specializes in baking cookies with a soft, gooey center. The Montclair location is on a busy main street. Street parking is difficult to find during peak hours. It's conveniently open until 1AM on weeknights and 3AM on weekends! When I walked in, I couldn't get over how cute and bright the store was. It's small with very limited seating. To whoever is in charge of the marketing, design, and logos... kudos to you! A very sweet and friendly employee answered all of my questions and helped me out. Since I came much later in the evening, I was worried there wouldn't be that many cookies available, but I was wrong. There were plenty AND they were still fresh too! They offer classic flavors as well as seasonal and specialty ones. Flavors are rotated weekly and you can check the website for the line-up. Dairy free options are available. There's a ton of creative flavors, so don't miss out! In addition to regular cookies, they also sell crookies (croissant/cookie hybrid), cretzels (croissant/pretzel/cookie hybrid), ice cream, and merchandise! Each cookie is around $5+, but trust me... they are dense, large, and can be shared with other people. Did I want to buy 4? Yes... but I have self control (sometimes) LOL, so I stuck with buying a classic Cookies N' Cream. It has a buttery sugar cookie base loaded with crushed chocolate cookie sandwiches and creamy white chocolate - basically tastes like an Oreo milkshake! What I love about these cookies is that they don't just taste like a giant blob of sugar. You can actually appreciate and distinguish between the different flavors and ingredients. If you prefer crispy/crunchy cookies, you probably won't be a fan. If you enjoy cookies with a slightly crunchy exterior, but a soft, warm, ooey, gooey (almost raw-like) interior, Chip City is for you! Every bite is sweet & decadent, but not overwhelming. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program to get discounts and freebies! GET GOOEY!!!

We always love to stop into Cafe Giotto whenever possible…read more Indoor/ outdoor seating with a new addition to the indoor seating space since we noticed. Usually, we tend to take out as I did today, or sit outside at the tables too. It's always a special treat- fav dishes -bolognese lasagna and rice balls. On other visits, we also loveeee the gnocchi. Staff are always super nice, helpful, and friendly. We will definitely come back soon on our next trip to Montclair. Yum.

***3 1/2 stars***…read more Yesterday I decided on a total whim to just grab lunch here before seeing Disclosure Day across the street. I've walked by a gazillion times, usually in the mid-afternoon or evening when the place is really jumping (at least based on the outdoor seating situation). This time around, I came for an early lunch around 11:30am when there were only a few other people sitting down and I had my pick of indoor or outdoor seating. I didn't get much of a look at the interior during my brief trip inside, but it seemed pleasant enough. Morally I didn't have much of a choice though but to sit outside at their communal picnic tables, given that it was sunny and 72. You do the math. As most of my solo eating adventures go, the service was excellent. It definitely helped that it wasn't busy, but both waitresses on the premises were super attentive and I ordered my meal literally within 30 seconds of sitting down. I wasn't on a hardcore schedule (my movie wasn't for an hour and 15 minutes) but I was in and out in probably 20-25 minutes, which is just wild for a legit sit-down meal. Top marks all around. I liked that they kept a bottle of tap at my table too; just efficient there. As soon as I saw gnocchi on the menu, my decision was made. I went with the gnocchi al pomodoro off the lunch entree menu, which was honestly just okay. This is usually a dish I really enjoy, and while it was clearly fresh (the chunks of mozzy are a nice touch) it was pretty bland and tasteless. It's extremely rare for me to look around for seasoning, but I did here (and didn't see any within range, so let it go). Honestly very surprising. The gnocchi itself was fine, but the pieces were so small it was actually difficult to eat/get them onto the fork tines. I had to scoop most of them up, and it was a slow process. Not the biggest deal in the world (the gnocchi was tasty in and of itself) but just a slight annoyance. The price point was fine; with tip, I paid a little over $20, which is on par for Montclair. Maybe it was just an off day/lunch, but I think the play is to come back for dinner with a bottle of wine and get a different dish. This place is very popular (during my brief meal, several people walked by openly declaring they were going to stop by later to eat) so perhaps a few grains of salt here, which would have been nice to add to my dish.
