This is the best sushi and sashimi that I have found in Lake County (so far). It's a bit pricy but sushi generally is. We love their rolls but I do find that the sashimi portions are very large. Service has been stellar and they have remembered us every time that we come in which is surprising, but I guess they were amazed that a first time sushi eater would eat sashimi in one fell swoop, so they always are extra friendly. Cold beer just makes me even happier. Just the best. One disappointing thing: Pad Thai isn't their thing...stick to the sushi. We really love the Seattle roll. read more

Disclaimer: I have only tried their vegetarian options. They have several vegetarian rolls, including one with thin slices of fruit (either peach or mango) that really mimic the texture of the raw fish, and it's fantastic. Hate this place, been here 3 times now and have tried to like them because they're less than 2 miles from my house, but each experience is worse than the last. The so called hot and sour soup tastes like ketchup and had almost nothing in it. Wow if you want good affordable sushi this is a great choice. The sushi is good. Not as good quality as a traditional ala carte type sushi place but it's also $50 cheaper. You can get 5-8 rolls for under $20 but for most of them you just get one type of roll. They also have cooked sushi which isn't really my thing but it tasted ok. This place is super expensive for little portions. I paid nearly $90 for 4 small portioned tasteless entrees. The spring rolls are weird with a sweet taste to them. I moved locally a year ago. They have very good food but they put you on hold for 6-10 minutes and today again they forgot to pick up phone. I think they need better system asap. This restaurant is definitely our favorite place to get sushi! The rolls are large and the proportions of what goes into the roll is good! No overloading on cream cheese or cheap fillers here. Whatever seafood you have chosen to be inside the roll is featured heavily with the other fillings as compliments to the meat. Also the rolls are beautiful! I wish I was patient enough to take a photo before digging in. The servers are very attentive and the owner/manager always makes the rounds to check in on guests. Ordered pad Thai It so soaked with this sweet rich sugar sauce I could barely eat it. I was engage with good company, so I didn't say a thing even though I didn't even finish my meal. But at the end the owner she came by and asked how everything was. I politely let her know what I thought, she told me that this dish needed all that sauce for the noodles would not stick together. Her answer was so ridiculous I just went with it because I didn't want to engage . She promptly made excuses defending her food that next time I should order it with less sauce. She was clearly trying to control the conversation not even listening to me, so I didn't even bother telling her that there was only three small shrimp in the dish and about 1 ounce of chicken and no heat whatsoever . Why even ask if you're not going to listen to what I have to say. Less than Chinese take out quality here. read more

Been trying to find some really good sushi restaurants in Clermont and tried their take out based on the positive reviews. Ordered 3 rolls and it was over $40!!! Their volcano roll is only 6 pieces and it's $14.50!!! While the sushi was good, it by no means warrants the price they charge, especially when you're only getting 6-8 pieces per roll. I know sushi isn't the cheapest but that is incredibly expensive for such small portions, simple tempura rolls, and they were not even that good. i have been on a sushi eating tear lately and i have a pile of take-out chopsticks to prove it. because of this i've eaten sushi from Clermont to Oveido so i have experienced them all. Akina is my go to place when i'm eating take-out, i have 3 places all within the same driving distance. first and foremost are the hours- open EVERY day till at least 9pm and a little later on weekends i think. i often dine at that in-between time when most sushi rest.'s close, not here open all day, every day.. second and actually most importantly is the food, the menu is good cause there's choices but not too many. features both cooked food and sushi choices. the Yaki Udon noodles are the best i've ever had anywhere! done in a stir-fry style so they're chewy but hearty at the same time. sushi is fresh and the rice always tastes freshly made. the rice people, fresh fish is very important but hard and stale rice will spoil a nigiri too. so many rest.'s don't change the rice unless its done. the decor is standard as is the location on the corner of a buis. complex across the street from a Publix. all that won't matter once you get your appetizer. anyways, if you find yourself on SR 27 in Clermont stop by, these people deserve the good reviews and you can tell they appreciate your buisness. read more

Being from California, our standards are higher for fresh food. But the entire Orlando tourist area was kinda a foodie vacuum. That said, for Florida sushi, it was probably great per the rest of the ratings. For someone who eats fresh sushi, it was mediocre. Absolutely wonderful experience! We came to this restaurant after awful service at Mito Sushi drove us away before we could even try the food (or drinks) and boy, were we glad it did! We made the decision based on the overwhelming amount of positive reviews on Yelp & Google and decided to make the drive. Talk about a blessing in disguise! Immediately seated and promptly greeted by our marvelous server, Marggie. As it was our first time dining there she was extremely helpful in making a few recommendations. Had lunch with client at this restaurant. We both love sushi and it was not good. Ordered the tempura shrimp appetizer, more like panko breaded shrimp you get frozen at the grocery store, which was $11. The app arrived with 2 shrimp and 4 pieces of fried vegetables. I even asked the server about portion size and she agreed that it's rediculous. I had the $23 lobster roll, don't mind paying for quality, which was bland, little flavor and little lobster in the roll. We had the a couple more rolls and they didn't get any better. The "honeymoon" roll was awful. It was smaller than the rolls you can buy at publix, it had no flavor and it was $14.95. Needless to say I won't be back and would not recommend this establishment. I spoke to the owner and she could care less. Good luck staying open much longer. read more

The restaurant is worn, decor is faded as just not clean or kept up to standards. I also feel of you pay over hundred dollars for two people you should have all that plus service, surrounding and cuisine to back it up. So Akina wake up I refuse to dine anymore with you. This was our first time here but it won't be our last. This is a slightly upscale restaurant. Very airy and nice, simple decor. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the shrimp and vegetable tempura as an appetizer, very nice. Then we shared the Honey Garlic Chicken and Double Oriental Wonder. Both dishes came with rice and vegetables. We had one with white rice and another with fried rice. I liked their fried rice best. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The chicken dish had a lot of large, thin slices of chicken that were deep fried, and very tender and tasty. The Oriental Wonder had large shrimp and very large scallops that were perfectly cooked. Soooo good! Portions were good sized and great for sharing. We ended up with leftovers. This is now one of our new favorite restaurants. read more

It was almost 830 when we got unpacked and such, and they closed at 9, so we ordered takeout. Our food was very fresh, and they were really fast. Great local spot for fresh food and friendly service, servers are very knowledgeable of the menu and the owner is a great person. She remembers her customers and is always happy to see them. Rolls are always fresh and they are willing to accommodate your needs. They also have a full kitchen for people that are not into sushi.
