I pop in here everyone once in awhile when I am in the area and the selection is decent. This location in particular has a unfriendly stuff. Every time I have come here for the last 6 months I have not been greeted or asked if I need help. The store was not busy and the staff was at the front talking to one another about topics unrelated to work. When I did have a question, I asked one of the ladies working there and she said "give me a sec" and several minutes went by and I ended up putting everything I wanted to buy down and I just left. I have shopped at other Akiras in the past and received much better service. I hope they become more friendly in the future! read more

This Akira is small, so don't go there thinking that you are going to find their entire selection. They do however have some very good finds. The staff at this location is much more friendly and helpful than other locations that I have visited, and talked me into buying this fantastic little black dress. They also were able to recommend shoes to match. It was an all around good shopping experience, and I'd definitely go back. read more

Love this store!!! Fantastic staff and great selection. On a recent trip, Bonnie was a huge help in getting me into a gorgeous dress that I love love love. Definitely go here with time to shop and an open mind. The staff will pull looks for you and encourage you to try all sorts of things. This review is for the Akira Shoe store in the Water Tower. DAYLIN have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life and she's the "STORE MANAGER (DAYLINS)! I called the store to see if I can exchange my item for a particular item and get the same deal Daylins said it was fine and I asked her again to double check and she said it was fine because I told her I was coming from an hour away and wanted to be reassured. I get there and it's a totally different story she said she didn't say that and basically calling me a liar. I told her I have automatic phone recorder on my phone and I could pull up our phone conversation and then she looked shocked because I caught her up in her lie! Then she said I can't do the transaction I looked at her in utter disbelief considering our convo previously we just had over the phone and her disrespectful non apologetic tone. Nevertheless with all the disrespect I still order a pair of hunter boots size 8. She had to order them online because they didn't have my size in the store. Two weeks later no hunter boots and no call from the store to pick them up from the store! I called the store today and Daylins said we had your shoes for some days and I ask her why didn't anyone call me SHE SAID SHE FORGOT! WTF and then she said they are a size 9 I said I ordered a size 8 and after that I told her I just want my money back and she told me in the nastiest tone "YOU CAN'T GET YOUR MONEY BACK"! WTF I WOULD NEVER SHOP AKIRA AGAIN IN MY LIFE"! The staff here get 10 STARS! They were so kind and considerate towards me when I shopped here. They really know their style, I love shopping in Akira because it feels like you have a personal stylist, which for a fashion challenged person such as myself is a must! The manager in particular was super kind Unfortunately they got 3 stars overall from me because of the quality of the clothing relative to the prices. I don't think I would ever buy anything from here at full price. But despite my issues with the quality, the staff keep me coming back. I do not shop anywhere else. Uh, can I just say that I love RJ! He's awesome! I came in here because I had a wedding to go to and I didn't have anything to wear. He spent basically a full hour with me trying to help me find the perfect outfit. He also helped me style it with jewelry and gave me some advice on shoes that would go well with the outfit. Oh did I mention that he did this all while the store had already closed?! I came in about 20 minutes before closing (I know..I'm super annoying, but I needed a dress!) and he spent so much time ensuring that I loved my outfit before I could leave. I ended up finding two amazing dresses and necklaces. I've never felt so cared for within a store! He also gave me a coupon off shoes if I wanted to get any at their shoe store upstairs. This was an amazing shopping experience and I will be back for any and every other event that I have! Cheap clothes and bad return policy that the workers do not properly inform you about. Yea no returns, only store credit. This place sucks... when i tried to make a return the sales person tried to convince me to keep the items by telling me "its a really nice fabric" - it was polyester, like the majority of their clothes, and since when is that a really nice fabric? this crap is cheap and overpriced. will not go back. Do not patronize this place, spend your money on quality that you can wear and wash more than once read more

Shopping at Akira was truly a wonderful experience; they were running a phenomenal shoe sale. The service provided by Stephanie and Alex was spectacular. We are quite messy shoppers, however, such did not cause for Stephanie or Alex to at any point express any form of attitude or impatience. Stephanie ultimately helped us (for the the sake of choosing a proper gift for my mother and goodies for myself) to make up our mind regarding the purchasing of a few pairs of boots. I have purchased a hat a week ago. I didn't like it and decided to return. But sales person,Jillbar,didn't tell me all the accessories are final when i purchased the item. Even i asked the Store manager to help me they were so persistant. They said it is a store policy. Policy is not a law...It changes every once a while....Economy is not great these days.Every store is competing with each other....You guys need persistant policy and workers or new customers and their satisfaction? I love this Akira and wish we had one like the one in the water tower back where I live!! I shopped there earlier this week and I typically am hesitant to go to an akira because of how hectic and disorganized they can be but this one was By far the cleanest and easiest to shop at. They had so many cute things for the summer and an employee named Jordan was so sweet and helped me find some of my favorite outfits that I got from there. She was very engaging and wanted to see what I had on and just made me feel good about the things I was purchasing (even though that's her job she seemed genuine and it was very refreshing). On top of that, the manager Ernie, was so kind and high-spirited and had no problem having to do two transactions on debit and credit. I really appreciated that because I typically get sass or weird looks from people working at the register when I request to do half on debit and half on credit, but Ernie was just easy going and knew exactly what to do. Anyways, I just thought I should write a review for this place cause I want to go back to the water tower all the time just to shop at this specific Akira! The customer service was great and everyone there was so sweet and fun and it genuinely looked like the workers there LIKED their job. I went to Akira at Water Tower Place to look for a dress to wear to a wedding this weekend. From the second I walked in the store, I was sold. Why? The customer service I experienced from the sales staff - Eric, Jessica and Christine - was awesome!!! Their sense of style and taste in fashion led me to buy a beautiful dress and accessories that I wouldn't have necessarily chosen for myself. I felt comfortable trusting them and I didn't feel suaded to buy anything. It was natural and similar to shopping with close friends, even though it was my first time meeting them. I would, absolutely, go back to Akira at Water Tower Place, not only to shop, but just to say 'Hello' since they were THAT great! I left there on a "high" from exposure to such excellent customer service and having worked in retail for close to 10 years, I can truly say they should be models for how a customer should feel from the moment s/he walks in a store to the making the final sale. I went to this location to find an outfit for a holiday party. I was really excited because I had heard such wonderful things about this location but I was surprised because that wasn't my experience at all. I heard one of the girls bad mouthing the clothing as she was organizing a table. The other employees were gathered around the cash register talking about their one night stands and their sexual experiences for the entire store to hear. I approached the only girl that wasn't up at cash register which was the same girl with the blond messy bun organizing a table, for some assistance but she was very rude and short with me. She looked as if she had just woken up because she didn't have an ounce of makeup and looked very messy. For a stylish clothing store like Akira, especially Akira at Water Tower, I would expect if the staff were more stylish and didn't dress like they just got out of bed. She must've gotten up on the wrong side of the bed because she was rude and obviously didn't like the clothing that Akira was selling calling it "hideous" and "who the f*** would wear something like this?" I've been to this location a few times, and this 3-star rating is for my overall experience there. For me the most part, when I come here, I find the staff to be unprofessional and rude/snobby. I've been to two other locations and this one is the only one where I find fault. But I must write about this one really nice experience I had with this one particular staff member. I think his name is Thomas (wish I could be sure). But anyway, I went in looking for a sweater dress and ended up with two. He had picked out a very nice one for me and I had found another myself. I was debating between which I was gonna get, but this guy picked out such a perfect belt with the dress I picked (the folks at Akira love to use belts as a suggest sale lol)! I was so impressed because I never would have thought that the belt he picked for that dress would be such a genius match! The belt took my sweater dress to a whole new level, so now the dress is even more versatile. I usually don't like when sales people suggest other things to me, but he was so smart with his suggestion! I That's how I walked out with two sweater dresses. I'd give him 5 stars, but the overall customer service I've experiences is really a 1 or 2. read more
