Took my car to have my oil pan replace since the previous place messed it up. They r reasonable . And honest. Was willing to help cut cost , by putting a bigger bolt. It didn't work but it was nice of them to to try that before replacing my whole oil pan. , it's only day 2, things seem to be working. So no complaints . I've been going to next door 'Ken's Tire' for my tire service. Ever since I started driving my current car, I've been having issues with either brakes or router. When I step on the brakes, my car would vibrate and it does this motion of the car's gonna die. Also it makes weird scratching sound plus when I put the side brakes on it makes this pushing against each other sound. I don't usually hear these sounds in other cars that I drove in the past so I was worried. So I took my car to Ken's and he said their was no problem but some cases uneven brake pads would occur. He double checked the brake pads % and he notified me that I will need to replace all 4 brake pads next time I visit. He also mentioned to have it replace them at Aki's Auto (which was right next door). Couple weeks later, I made time to stop by Aki's and have them checked my brake pads. Also I mentioned about Ken's Tire. Friendly owner said he will check all the brake pads and will notify me if I need to replace all with quote. So I left my car and waited for about an hour and had a call saying that I do need to change all 4 brake pads. Since I drive a lot everyday, it was time to replace them. I had them proceed the service. About another hour or so, I had a call saying that my car was finished! Wow, that was some fast service! If I take it to the dealer or some where else, it'll take them more than a day. Thank you Aki's Auto for a fast and friendly service. It's been couple weeks now since I got it serviced and my car has no issues with braking and weird 'cars gonna die' motion and sounds. Ive had about 4 cars now that aki has seen over the years and take n care of, just recently i came across a 1993 acura integra that was given to me, ran well for about 2 years and when i started having problems i took to to james at his shop. He fixed the problems and was honest with me and told me bluntly, "you need to get rid of this car, as much as i hate to turn down work, this car isnt worth much, i will be more than willing to fix the car for you, but to be honest its gonna cost you more than what it is worth. I would sell it as soon as you can." For a mechanic to be honest and straight up with you like that.. that is awsome in my opinion.... he's honest i trust every bit of work he does on my cars and will continue to be a loyal customer of Aki's Auto Repair. 10/10 forsure read more

I am not sure if the guy answering phone calls was having a bad day or something. I am hoping he has better days. However, I am leaving a review based on my experience in regards to inquiring the price of their oil changes. My cousin needed an oil change for her Hyundai Elantra so I figured I'd assist her. Gave this place a call and asked what their going rate was for an oil change for a Hyundai Elantra, 2014. He immediately says "idk depends how much oil the car needs but I'm not cheap so don't expect it to be cheap" Based on the reviews, I'd expect their customer service to be better than what I had received. Found his response to be a little rude but whatever, lost my business and my families business to say the least. One car's radiator went out last month--he replaced it in no time (and at a great price--new, not refurb). Today he fixed my "earthquake" shake on my other car--he fixed the throttle & plugs in just a few hours. I had gone to another shop prior to Aki's just for an oil change and of course the that shop found other problems to my car. That shop said I needed a valve cover gasket repaired as well as my rear brakes. I decided to forgo that repair at the time and then went to Aki's. Living in the SGV there are tons of auto repair shops and with them are reviews of shady businesses. Aki's was the first repair shop I stumbled upon that had ZERO reviews of any kind of shady business so I took a chance on them. When I came to the shop I told Sho, a mechanic, what needed to be done according to another repair shop. He looked at my Valve Cover Gasket and right away he told me nothing was wrong it. Sweeeet. He changed my brake pads and I also had him change one of my headlights. Changing the headlights on my Malibu can be a hassle. I've seen mechanics struggle with it for years, as they don't know you have to remove the front bumper to get to the light, but Sho figured it out pretty quickly. All in all, the total cost was $200 for my Chevy Malibu. At the previous repair shop, it would have been well over $300 just for my brakes and then "needed" valve cover gasket. Sho was quick and honest with everything. I will definitely be coming back here for any repairs/maintenance on my car. read more

I went here based on the good reviews on Yelp. They were very attentive, honest about the estimate for work, and, most importantly to me, not pushy about making you get the repairs done there. They explained the issues I was having very patiently and were very good at keeping me updated with the status of my car. They are super laid back and just seem like nice people. I stopped in recently to ask about a problem I was having with starting my car and they asked for some details of what occurred. Based on this information, they said it would be ok if I drive my car but to come back immediately if it go worse. They never pressured me to leave my car and pay for a routine check up. If I insisted, I'm sure they would have complied but this shows that they aren't trying to prey on unsuspecting customers and just trying to make a profit of their customers. read more

My first visit ever feb2014. James is honest and quick. My car is an old 80's Honda so there are a lot of things wrong with it. I explained to James that we just bought a house so I need this car to get me to/from work for about another year because we can't afford a new car right now. James only fixed what was necessary to keep it running to save me money. A day later when I went back because the car got worse, he again investigated the problem and only fixed the issue. My car is running great now. I expected to pay hundreds and only spent a little over one hundred total. He's awesome and makes you feel like he really cares about your situation.
