I would give no stars if it was an option. I called AAA to help me unlock my vehicle and they had Freeway Auto come out to service. They damaged the Door and side panel of my car while servicing it. When I first file the claim they seemed to have no issues and told me they would contact me when approved and parts would arrive. After waiting a week with no answer, I reached out and they then decided to deny the claim. I feel it's because the parts end up being more costly the They expected so they did not what to take responsibility. They the. claimed they had recorded footage of the work done on my car? Even though the tow truck was parked on the other side of the lot. I asked Linda that worked there what footage? She responded oh we have cameras everywhere. What a poor excuse for damaging a customers car and not wanting to take responsibility for the poor service. I would like to know where the cameras are at that they are able to record the work done inside my vehicle? I would suggest not using this company EVER unless you're ok with them damaging your vehicle to get access to it. I will also be filing a complaint to the Better Business Bearu for running a business so poorly. WORST COMPANY EVER! A company that takes no pride in their work, hires staff and employees that is obviously not skilled or qualified to do the service. The professionalism and dedication should not be understated. I had to get my vehicle towed there after the recommendation from the Freeway AAA tow driver. I have been having vehicle problems and have been taking my vehicle to the DEALERSHIP once per month for the last 4 months to no avail. It's been ridiculous. This place has such great service and customer service. I had gotten a check engine light and I took my civic to get it check. Even though they were busy. They had fix the repair in a quick timely manner. My engine light came back on and Linda was so nice and amazing on making sure if I had to get a tow so it won't overheat. They did a thorough check and found out it was my engine coils and spark plug needed to be replaced. She was so honest and gave me such great recommendations. All around bad experience. Had them tow my car through AAA. Without even taking a quick look at the damage to my front wheel (which in the end was missing 4 lug bolts) which was why I had it towed..they had me push the gas and try to drive it onto the ramp. In addition...damaged my rear wheel which was perfect beforehand and scaraped it along the edge of their tow bed ...mind you the driver said I would be compensated no problem. so I tipped him 20 . Get a call today that he denies it and completely went 360 from what he said that night...seemingly almost threatening me to not take me home. . Absolutely avoid at all costs. read more

I had an AAA battery within the warranty, so I called AAA and they sent a technician from Freeway Auto out to us. The battery was clearly out of service and was labeled with a purchased date from AAA. Despite this, the technician started pulling out random reasons to avoid honoring the warranty in any way possible and started getting confrontational. Later, we called the AAA representative, and they have told us as long as the battery was AAA purchased and had a clearly labeled purchase date, it was valid. A battery is only $90. There was no reason to get confrontational. Take a look at how the business owner responded to other inquiries here and argued with customers. This is clearly not an establishment that cares about its customers. read more

I like the fact that the auto technician, Sam, was on time. He was polite and kind. He called me and gave me an arrival time. He seemed to understand a great deal about the car, including, but the limited to, jump starting a car and installing a battery. Great service, honest, quick, and affordable. I was forced to come here in spite of the low number of Yelp reviews because the shops with higher ratings were closed due to Christmas/New Year's. From their AAA contracted tow truck driver to Anthony at the Front desk and the master mechanic who looked at my car, they were all super pleasant and helpful; exactly what you need when your car breaks down and you are upset. Due to the nature of the breakdown, I was expecting major repairs. When they told me what could be wrong and what could be needed to be replaced (basically a fully rebuilt transmission) I was not surprised. However, they are super honest, and when they called me 45 minutes later to tell me my vehicle is up and running again because it was just a busted hose, and it needed a fluid refill and the hose fixed, that's when I was surprised! I was expected at least a thousand dollar bill and many days without my car, but instead they had me on the road after 45 minutes and a $65 bill (which isn't bad compared to the cost of a new transmission)! read more

After the inspection and the cost of over 1000.00 I stated I would need a shuttle on that day, she responded not sure, perhaps one way. What the hell... The check engine light came on in my 11 year old Element towards the end of a long trip, and the light was even accompanied by an ominous "thud." I used to take my car to a pretty good shop that was farther away, and that place has recently changed hands due to the owner's retirement. So I found this place here on Yelp. When I called, the nice lady named Linda picked up. Even over the phone, Linda sounded like she really cared about my problem, and when I met her in person, she's totally the "Shop Mom." lol After I got to the shop, she asked her mechanic to pull the codes for a diagnosis, and he got on it right away. For the next hour or so, the mechanic pulled the code and explained the problem in a way that regular people can understand. Linda proceeded to give me a quote that was clear and no BS. She also gave me a time frame that was realistic for the job. I had planned to leave my car at the shop, and for the next few hours, Linda kept me updated via text about what's going on. 6 hours later, I got a text saying that my car was fixed and ready to go. The service here cannot be beat, and I don't know how I'd missed it when I first moved to MPK. I think I'm going to start taking my cars here instead. read more

I spoke to a dispatcher on the phone who informed me that I could go pick up the car as long as it was before 1:00 pm on Saturday, anything after that would require an after hour release charge of $121. I was able to arrive at 12:30 pm and they would not let my car go without paying that after hour charge. The dispatcher on the phone was misleading and I'll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Nothing but thieves and liars here! Came here last year when the car's alternator broke down, and this shop was recommended by AAA driver. Got it fixed and seems everything good to go, but a year and half later, the new alternator that they installed was broke down, went to the repair shop I always went, they said that alternator is not a good brand, so it is easy to not working. :( read more

I've deal with their towing company for the last 10 years. Due to my stepmom always locking her keys in her car. They were very fast, they let me know what's was wrong with my car. Got my car done within then 2 hour. Ended up having them change my oil and filters while my car was there also. When I went to go pick up my car Linda was very sweet and gave me my next oil change free, I was very happy. Because I always put synthetic oil in my car. Something went wrong with my wife's car. We had it towed here, and they checked it out. The mechanic said it was just a clip near the fuel filter that wasn't pushed in all the way, causing it to lose pressure and leak. He quickly connected the clip properly, and sent us on our way. The super nice lady in the office said there was zero charge, and that we enjoy the rest of our weekend. That's great service, and sign of an honest repair shop. This shop is the REAL DEAL. My engine light began to flash as I left work (business district of Monterey Park) and my car felt like it was going to turn off. There was no power when I'd try to accelerate. I thought there was something wrong with the transmission and this would cost a fortune to repair. Horrible timing...it's Christmas season!!! I was able to get my car back to the parking structure of my job and call AAA. Chris of Freeway Towing showed up. He couldn't get the truck into the parking structure as the clearance was too low. He asked what was going on with my car, I gave him my keys, and he drove it down to the tow truck. After he loaded the car onto the tow truck he gave me peace of mind by acknowledging the problem and telling me there was an easy fix. He recommended Freeway Auto, less than a mile from my job. He said there was no cost to diagnose the problem and if his hunch was right, I could buy the parts and fix it myself. Huge sigh of relief. As he handed my keys back to me, he warned, "Although I'm a AAA driver, NEVER hand over all of your keys, only the car key". His concern for my safety was genuine and very much appreciated. So far, I'm impressed...to say the least. It took just a few short minutes to get to Freeway Auto, if you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right by it. It's very simple, no neon signs or inflatable gorilla on the roof...just a couple stalls and the friendliest mechanics you'd ever meet. Cobey came out as Chris unloaded my car, he greeted me with a very warm and friendly smile...what mechanic do you know that does that? Linda quickly came out to greet me, she was so personable and pleasant. She got my information and told me she'd call me with a diagnosis and cost. That call came a lot sooner than expected. Like Chris said, the issue was minor and the cost was minimal. I authorized them to do the work as I wanted it done right. I immediately went onto Yelp to tell the world about this place...a lot of other happy customers beat me to it. It felt good to see that this level of customer service was par for the coarse for Freeway Auto. Once my car was done, I went to pay but wasn't able to get it back to my job as I had a loaner car. Linda didn't bat a beautiful eyelash as she called on another mechanic, Luis, to drive my car back to my job. He was so happy to do it. He followed me and I drove him back. He, like everyone else at Freeway Auto, was incredibly friendly and personable. What Linda and the rest of the Freeway Auto family doesn't know is that I'm a single mother of 2 daughters and I also care for my 3 granddaughters. Money is always tight in my home.
