My fiance and I took our 4 kids here last night and they had an amazing time. Thanks to Iris for being patient and accomdating our bigger family. She went above and beyond to make sure the kids enjoyed the movie since it was our first time visiting. We will definitely be going back again soon! The staff was very helpful and friendly the security was as well. They really made us feel comfortable and safe during our visit. I think Iris should be recognized for her excellent customer service! Went to the movies the past couple of weekends. Stale popcorn, 5 out of 6 icee machines are not working. Ticket person sold me ticket to the wrong movie. Asked for Liam Neeson movie and was sold ticket to Denzel Washington movie. Tough times for movie theaters but this is rediculous. read more

The theatre is totally fine and a good price. If looking for a cheaper priced, first run movie, this is your place. I've been spoiled, I guess, with reclining seats at the movies though. We only go to the Marcus theatre by us, and the viewing options are just off the charts. When we were in Omaha over the holidays, the Marcus theaters there were packed! Aksarben became our best option...I just wish the seats were more comfy and they offered a daily food special here and there. read more

Been there Scene that. I used to frequent the Aksarben Cinema on either Tuesday nights or on Friday mornings. Tuesdays used to be five dollar movie night and that was just too good of a deal to pass up. Thursday and Fridays used to be my days off so I would also see movie showings here on Friday mornings at eleven am. The Friday eleven am slot was great because it usually meant that there would only be a handful of people in the theatre at that particular time, and I could sit anywhere that I wanted. The movie would end and I would be in the perfect spot for lunch. Now they have updated the process of picking your seat you can pick your spot online before and reserve the exact seats that you would like. This is a nice theatre and probably my first choice in Omaha. read more

Want to enjoy a Saturday at the movies? Take your business elsewhere. We've been to multiple movies in the past year that have been ruined by middle school kids being disrespectful and rude during the entire movie. Each time these kids have come into the theatre 20-30 minutes into the movie. Security is present, but nothing is done to address these kids ruining the experience of other movie goers in the theater. It's a shame because we would be willing to come to this theater much more often... but the interruptions and distractions are too much. One time a kid was climbing over the rows in front of us causing a scene. Parents - don't drop your kids off at a movie theatre and let them go theatre to theatre all night - it's rude! read more

Love this unbranded theater!! Love the seating & they have full bar with "lazy boy" seating & you select your seat for just $9.00 an adult ticket, prime time! Very, very similar to CineBistro locations without being multi leveled and having entrees. The restrooms are new but need help aka the mirrors have have soap scum at the bottom and none of the faucets seem to work because of build up on the sensor otherwise the restrooms are clean. Seems odd to me at such a hip awesome spot they would let the restrooms suffer. Needless to say this is our new movie venue in Omaha! read more

Used to be something. Now they are terrible. Their snack options are very limited and WAY overpriced. There are better deals at other theatres in the area. My popcorn tasted a bit stale as well. Theatre sound is too quiet. Seats are so-so. Just not the best in town. You have better options in many areas around Omaha. Their website seems so stock-built and is a bit of a pain to navigate. Not a fan at all of their presentation. Oh, and if you have MoviePass, they are the only theatre that does e-ticketing on their app. And they have a couple signed items and props in the lobby. While I love a boutique Cinema experience like you might get at film streams theater, there's a particular joy in the awesome multi-screen theater that shows the blockbuster hits of Aksarben Cinema. This theater has become my go-to for most movies. Their prices are reasonable including really good matinee prices on weekends (SIX DOLLARS, Y'ALL!!!) - I love being able to see movies, even on opening weekends, for less than the exorbitant prices of AMC or Regal Theaters. From what I can tell, the front few rows of most of their theaters have the Lux lounger recliner setup, while the rest of the rows have non reclining seats that are still large and comfortable. I love being able to choose my seat ahead of time. The theaters are usually pretty clean, the staff are friendly, there's a self-serve station for tickets if you don't want to deal with a long box office line, and the concessions are pretty decent. The prices at the concession stand are on par with the other big theaters in town (which is to say, extremely pricey for the quality of what you get). They also have a bar on the site for those who prefer adult beverages. The one gripe that I have with Aksarben Cinema is the condition of the restrooms. It seems like every time I'm there there's some kind of an issue in one of the women's restrooms that I'm trying to use - either a stall is out of service or the sink is broken or a hand dryer is inoperable. The sinks all also have sensors that are hard to trigger, and seem to have sort of busted faucets that spray water all over the mirrors behind the sinks. It feels like just a little bit of upgrading could go a long way, so I hope that they'll put some TLC into the restrooms to make me look forward to coming to this theater even more. read more

The seats aren't full recliners for most of the room, but they are comfy and there is a bar so you can get a beer AND the movie. That really seals the deal for me. The aksarben area is fun and the cinemas is the perfect companion to a dinner night out. read more

Great theater. Decent amount of food options but expensive obviously because it's a theater. Be ready to spend double on food compared to your ticket. The reclining seats were awesome. Their self purchase ticket machines are a little slow and don't tell you what seats are reclining and what you are purchasing. I would suggest just asking the actual workers and purchasing your tickets through them. Other than that, the place is awesome and relaxing. Almost fell asleep. :). read more

A member of our party was sitting somewhere besides the bench. The security guard proceeded to cuss in front of a five year old child, as he rudely told him not to sit there. It was completely inappropriate and bad customer service. Overall, this theater's seats are below average for Omaha. They don't include tax in prices, unlike many theaters. The screens aren't impressive. The prices are comparable to other theaters, despite the fact most theaters offer far more value. read more

This cinema is located in the center of Aksarben village and is like a hidden gem! It is similar to a conventional movie theater, but its setup is a little fancier. I like how this cinema gets involved with the local community with events such as the Omaha Film Festival, and I enjoy having it as an entertainment option in this area! The only cons that I see are that the tickets can get a little pricey and not all of their seats recline. However, I know that they have specials such as student discount nights, so there are ways around the prices! read more

The last two times I have been to this movie theater (about a week apart) the state of the bathrooms has appalled me. It smells horrible, as if it hasn't been cleaned in weeks and they have been completely out of soap both times. The theaters themselves are hit or miss with cleanliness. Not all seats have reclining mode. The popcorn is given in bags vs tubs so it is very easy to drop spill or knock over while reaching in.

I could bore you with all the details of things like how uncomfortable the movie seats were. How watered down the soft drinks were. How extremely overpriced all the snacks were. But I'm not. Instead I ask you to stare at the photo I've attached. The mangled & disembodied mess of a mozzarella sticks platter. For somewhere just short of $10.00 you too can enjoy this tasty treat for yourself! Make sure the same 17yr old imbecile makes your order for the full experience. Watch as he microwaves (4) frozen, pencil thin mozzarella sticks right before your eyes in 60 secs or less! Watch as he takes them from the microwave and ATTEMPTS to scrape, pull and tear them from the filthy, black, rubber cooking tray and flings them into the container for your enjoyment. Just don't bother asking your clueless cook if this is the standard serving procedure because he will happily tell you how the original baking tray is out of order. Then hold back your cheers as you are finally handed your aborted cheese snacks for your enjoyment. Don't forget the marinara sauce. He did. So I asked for some and got a frozen container of it. All in all it was truly amazing how oblivious yet confident the kid/employee/mozzarella stick master chef handled everything. I say he's CEO in 5 yrs or less. Man, it was only a few years ago when all the wide-release movie theaters in Omaha were in West O. As someone who proudly lives in an older part of town, I'm glad to have Aksarben Cinema nearby. It honestly makes me go see movies more often. Because who wants to drive 30 minutes to Oak View when you don't have to? Not this guy. Aksarben Cinema is a modern movie theater with all the amenities -- from digital projectors to a bar. And let's face it, when a giant soda costs $6, why not just grab a beer for around the same price instead? Oh, and keep an eye on their specials, as they have certain days with $1 popcorn (Tuesdays I think?) and sodas. Besides all your favorite box office hits, they do occasionally screen short runs of independent films as well. Plus it's in the middle of Aksarben Village, so there are plenty of pre/post movie dining and drinking options within walking distance. read more

I really liked everything leading up to the actual movie. They have everything you could ever want from food to coffee to dessert to beer. Ticket prices here were $11, which I believe would put it $2 above the last movie ticket I purchased. However, the climate in the actual theater was a bit warm for me and the chairs are awful. My buddy and I immediately sat down and both thought the seats were uncomfortable. To the point where I didn't know if I was going to make it past the previews. Awesome Cinema! New- so it's clean 3D ticket for adult $9 The concessions are fantastic- Reg Movie type items, but a few others- like fried green beans, eggs rolls, and fully loaded nachos. The layout is open, and can hold a large crowd. They serve Wine, Beer, and cocktails. (Oscar's- look for coupon's) The bathroom is pretty high tech and the hand dryers are awesome! A great place to see a movie-no matter what age! Staff is just a big slow, but sure that will change as the theater get's more traffic. read more

This is quite honestly is the best theater in town. It is far enough from the shopping mall, residential neighborhoods, and typical teen "hangouts" that you do not have to deal with both the youth crowd and the youth messes. If there is any reason to go to the theater alone, it is this. The place is also locally owned. Walking into the theater, everything is nice, orderly, and clean. They have around 7 video games to play if you are waiting for your movie. The food options are plentiful with a full bar. They even have 2 "create" your own Coke product machines. The theater seats are all incredibly comfortable. They allow you to lean back and give roughly three feet of leg room. In the larger theaters, they have the leather versions of the seats. The sound systems and the projection screens are top-notch for Omaha. A couple other things to add is that they have numerous free/discounted family shows in the morning with the donation of food for the food bank. On Tuesday's they have $1 pops and popcorn. In the mornings, before noon, all tickets are $5 for the non-3D movies and $7 for 3D. Best deal in town! read more

Early New Years Eve, thought we'd check out the new theater in town to see True Grit. Maybe it was the holiday season, but the ticketing staff were uber-friendly and immediately signed us up for the reward program and gave us a $1 off popcorn coupon without asking - love that. High school boy at the snack counter couldn't figure out my half ice tea-half lemonade order (Arnold Palmer), but other than that, service was pretty smooth (just opened, so there's a bit of confusion with who's fetching drinks, popcorn and snacks - so I'm going to forgive and just remove one star). Agree with Patrick W, that we didn't see the bar area since it's on the back side of the snack counter, so didn't have a chance to order an overpriced bev. Fun sounding snacks, though we didn't partake (fried green beans, egg rolls, hot dog sliders that looked SOOOOOO cute). We were in the back theater with its own restrooms (not sure if that's true for each theater). Comfortable rocking seats. Lots of leg room. Huge screen. I really like the location. Can't figure out if there's more/better parking, but it's really only an issue on the colder days (okay...so December through March). We'd go there again. $5 movies before noon, $7 before 6 p.m. and $9 after 6 p.m. read more

Ok, I will say I have a little bit of a bias because I live right by a theater that offers the giant reclining seats and...I'm a fan. But Aksarben's seats are nicer than typical theater seats and I'm usually getting up a lot to chase my toddler anyway, so... This theater is the best for meeting up with other adults for a movie. We came here to see the Evil Dead remake with a group of friends, which I was less than thrilled about, so I was really happy that they serve booze. In giant cups, no less. The guys working the bar at the time kind of sucked but they were really my only complaint about this theater. I think the pricing is good compared to other theaters, especially for concessions. Tickets are $5 before noon, and they show free kids' movies in the summer but it's first come-first served and a lot of daycares like to show up. I love how clean this theater is and they have THE nicest bathrooms I think I've ever been in. No lie. I also like that the theater is on the smaller side but even on busy nights it doesn't feel as overrun as larger theaters I've been to. It feels cozy. Plus there's lots to do within walking distance and parking isn't bad. We got a spot right out front even on a busier night. read more

This theater recently got new seats which is great but that is about all they have. I recently went to a Sunday night showing of black panther and there were a ton of unsupervised preteens in the audience talking and throwing popcorn. Someone else from the audience went to complain and an employee briefly came in. It was even worse 10 minutes later .....for a 26 bucks I expect better. Honestly have only had to deal with disrespectful audiences at this theater...ugh never going here again. read more

This place is new and clean. Student tix are $7 with ID. The chairs are new and big. The comfy part will actually come in later when the chairs are a little more worn in. I like this place a lot. There is ample parking and you can bring outside food into the theaters. That's a plus. read more

I'm a pretty big fan of Askarben Cinema and its not just because it is the most convenient for me. It is locally owned (at least thats what they advertise). Their prices are pretty comparable to all big movie theater prices but they do have some specials. $1 popcorn and soda on Tuesdays, $5 movies before noon, $7 movies before 6, student and senior prices, and a good rewards program. The rewards program is free. They also just added the Coca Cola freestyle soda machine which gives you around 100 options for sodas and obviously lets you make your own. The concessions are above average. They have your typical movie choices like popcorn, pretzels, nachos, etc as well as other options like fried green beans, flatbread sandwiches, and egg rolls. There is also a full bar. It is new and clean. The chairs are comfortable and the leg space is the most I've seen. Its almost too much for my short little legs. It is much more comfortable then most of the seats in Midtown Crossing. This is my go to movie theater for the big studio movies. read more

In town for volleyball tournament. It's tradition to watch a movie in every new state we go to. This theatre is closest to downtown Omaha. It's clean with typical priced concession stands. However, being used to attending movie theaters with recliner seats, this theater lacks them. There are restaurants all around this theatre, so nice location. read more

After going to this theater as our primary theater place over the last 5 years I am going to think again in the future. The last three trips to the theater consisted on once having the power go out with 15 minutes left in the show. Hardly a worker could come in to advise theater goers. Finally, I went out and demanded a movie pass to see the end of the show at another time. Next time, seeing a noon show, the bathroom facilities were clearly not tended to and hardly a person was willing to wait on anyone at the concession stand. Yesterday was more of the same and really there are a lot of theaters around Omaha that do a better job. I really like the location of this theater but they need to step it up to keep getting my business. read more

I love that it's smaller. Comfortable seats. Screens aren't humongous & I dig that. All you can drink, anything you want coke machine: diet vanilla coke I can't get anywhere else (oh yeah!). I get a sophisticated, almost country club, trendy-ish feeling of the atmosphere and everyone is so nice, no feeling of being rushed or overcrowded (from my experience anyway)... & maybe I'm being too fluffy here but it's like you're a part of something special when you go there. That entire Aksarben area is very impressive in my opinion. Maybe next time I'll splurge & treat myself to something at the adult beverage counter. :) read more

I'm so glad this is just a few minutes from us! It's just a nice little place to see a movie and it's close to several fantastic restaurants. They have a great rewards program that offers frequent freebies such as free drinks, popcorn, and snacks, all the way up to a free admission. My only complaint is that once you reach the maximum number of points they start you back over at zero (boo!). They also have a military discount. We often go on Tuesdays for the $2 popcorn and sodas, since we usually spend more on food and drinks than our tickets. They have one of those fancy Coke machines with dozens of flavors which is fun (nothing like trying crazy flavor combinations to make you feel like a kid again!). The seats are nice and comfortable, and the armrests do swing up (hooray for cuddling!). It's a small theatre but rarely seems crowded, which I love. ETA: I can't believe I forgot to mention the bar! Ok, I have to say I'm a bit ashamed of myself. I typically can be pretty harsh on places if I'm in a snarky, critical mood when I write my first reviews, but I do try to update them as soon as my opinion of them changes. Somehow, my review for Aksarben Cinema has fallen out of my mind, even though I go there pretty frequently. It took a comment from their management to even remind me that I had written a review of the theater. It might seem like I'm just updating the rating based on some good PR on their part, but I really do believe they've earned a more favorable review. The bottom line: It's better than I originally stated, although some of my initial complaints (the ones not addressed here) still stand. Since the initial hiccups at the first couple movies I saw there, I've not noticed a single audio or visual flaw and the employees have been friendly folks. The bar still isn't as robust or fun as Midtown Cinema's Glo lounge, and you can't order from your seat, but the movie quality blows that place away and it's cleaner to boot. I still love me some AMC, and still think it's the best theater in town. But judging from the whole body of films I've seen there, and not just the initial couple, Aksarben is definitely a great place to catch a flick, in a great location, and if you want to enjoy an adult beverage with your movie but still care about the quality of the eye-candy you're gazing at, you should check it out. read more

I used to practically live at Star Cinema in CB when it was owned by Kerosate. 3 main reasons for that: 1) They had these cards they sent out for free if you applied for them online. With these cards you got to see the less new movies for only $5. Day at the movies...yup. 2) They had free refills on soda. 3) They had free refills on popcorn. Then AMC bought them out of that theatre and cut all that out and I was sad. So to say that Aksarben Cinema also has none of the above going for it but is still the best cinema in Omaha and I'd live there if I could says a lot. First and foremost the place as a whole is clean. The lobby, the bathrooms, the concession area, the open bar(they got one...I know, right?), and, most importantly, the theatres, themselves, are clean. At no point do I ever feel like something around me is...sticky...regardless of where I am in the complex. They do a good deal of up-keep on the place and it shows. And in an age where moviegoing is getting pricey, that sells the movie just as much as the movie itself. Tack on free wi-fi to entertain you as you wait, party rooms, an innovative concession area, and that OPEN BAR and what's not to love? They even use better state of the art projectors for superior picture quality! So I have to hand it to Aksarben...you are the best and maybe its because you are locally owned and operated that you know what their own public demands in a theatre. But maybe consider a $5 movie club card for your older movies that you are about to send off? Then I'd really live there. Hmm...it's kinda hard to end off with my usual "Eat up Minions" as this is my first non-eatery...so...They have good popcorn...yea! Eat up Minions...ha! I did it!! read more
