The real 3d movies is horrible and not worth it, it looks like it's in 540p and the show is fuzzy all the time. Besides that the theater is clean though and has good service just go to regular screen tbh read more

Out of all the AMC movie theaters in the area, this is definitely my preferred location. I really like that you can still pour your own butter and salt here, unlike some of the other locations where it's kept behind the counter. Honestly, that's one of the things that keeps me coming back to this location. I also really like their bar area. So, unfortunately, I am having to update my review of AMC Council Bluffs to a 4 star ranking now. They recently closed their Dolby and IMAX theaters, I assume to renovate and fix things with those theaters - but ever since they opened the IMAX back up, it has been terrible. The IMAX screen has faint vertical lines all through it and they are very evident when a bright/white scene is playing. (The Fortress of Solitude scene in Superman was unwatchable.) I will say the Dolby theater is still top notch. Great screen and so loud your seat shakes, if you're into that style of sound (I am). AMC Council Bluffs also does have way better snacks than their Omaha Westroads counterpart, so I appreciate that. But I don't go to the movies for the overpriced snacks. It's unfortunate that the IMAX is seemingly in disrepair or needs to be cleaned or something, because we loved that particular theater so much and would travel to CB just for that. But for now, we will see IMAX movies at the Westroads AMC and only head over to Council Bluffs if there is a Dolby screening we want to check out. read more

Went to the 30th Anniversary screening of Clueless with a friend, and let me just say... how is Clueless 30 years old? I haven't aged a day. I mean, hello!!! I ordered my tickets online, got scanned in with a smile, and everything ran smoother than Cher's computerized closet. No stress, no drama. We hit up concessions for the essentials: sodas, popcorn, and pretzel bites. Sure, the total felt like we were financing a small car, but it's the movie experience. You just lean in and pray your credit card doesn't judge you. Huge shoutout to the FreeStyle Coke machines. The real MVP. I love having 500 drink options and still going with a Coke Zero like a creature of habit. I regret nothing. The theater was clean, well-kept, and the Sunday 4 pm crowd was super chill. The movie started promptly at 4, which was nice. Punctuality is a virtue, people. I even brought a sweater, expecting the usual movie theater meat locker, but it was actually a comfortable temp. No icicles, no frostbite, just good vibes. All in all, a totally fun night. This place never disappoints. I'll definitely be back--assuming the movie studios get it together and release something worth leaving the house for. Until then, I'm outie. read more

I preordered tickets for a 3:45 showing of the Odyssey, was directed to theater 8 when we arrived, which matched my confirmation email. Concessions were understaffed and the counter was messy, the Icee machines weren't frozen and the coke we got from the machine was not mixed well and tasted awful. We go in theater 8 at about 3:50, nobody else is in there and there's no ads playing. So after a few minutes went to ask if we were in the correct theater, and were then told theater 8 is broken, and the movie was switched to theater 3. So communication between management and staff members is lacking. We move to theater three and it's HOT in there. Like 75+ degrees. I wasn't going to sit in a hot theater sweating for a three hour movie while annoyed from the multiple previous issues, so we left without seeing the movie. We were given movie passes but definitely not returning to use them at this location. Edit: I didn't eat any of the popcorn until I got home, and it tastes burnt and bitter. read more

The only reason why people come to the theaters anymore is because they want a premium experience. Big screens, big clear audio, clean theaters. AMC wants us to sign up for various paid loyalty services but those services don't work when we want to use them. Why don't the reclining chairs in the Dolby Cinema theater actually recline? Why should I drag my fat ass down to your theater if I can just steal the content at home, make my own popcorn and sit in a chair that actually works? This place sucked. A worker told me (very rudely might I add) to leave them alone and stop bothering them (I only went up for popcorn and that's it). The seats looked like someone took a crap on them because there were a lot of brown stains on the seats + a lot of popcorn with a bunch of butter on the ground, perhaps from a cup of butter maybe? I'm not sure. I doubt this theater has been cleaned in a while. read more

I am not sure why I had not yet updated this. This theater is my go-to theater in the Omaha area. Love the AMC stubs+ pass. Staff is typically great - seats were great. Theater was nice and warm (sometimes it can be a little cold) Staff monitor and do fairly well keeping it clean. My one complaint would be some of the seats - the leather is coming off and those should either be fixed or blocked off from purchase. Otherwise - check in is fairly smooth and all is good to go. Bathrooms are sometimes a mess - but I have a hard time blaming that on the staff - customers could be a little more neat. read more

Although AMC Council Bluffs is a bit out of the way for me, it's absolutely worth the drive for one reason: the Dolby Cinema. This is the only theater in the Omaha area (even though it's technically in Council Bluffs) that offers this incredible format, and it's a game-changer for any movie lover. The Dolby Cinema experience here is unmatched, with stunning 4K Dolby Vision visuals and the booming, immersive sound of Dolby Atmos surround. If you love your movies loud, beautiful, and fully immersive, this is the place to be. I saw Top Gun: Maverick here, and it was hands down one of the best film presentations I've ever experienced. It's not just watching a movie--it's feeling it. That said, the theater can get extremely busy on weekends and Friday evenings, so I highly recommend buying your tickets in advance to secure your spot. If you're a fan of elevated movie experiences, this theater is a must-visit for its Dolby Cinema alone. read more

As AMC IMAX places go.. this place has an amazing interior! You could literally hear your own echo! The Egyptian theme with the giant domed mural was just awe worthy. Woohoo! As good as a theater can get! I love going to this AMC; it's my go to place for movies. My friends and family know when I say meet me at the movies - this is the only place. I love the comfortable and roomy recliners. The staff members are always professional and add to making a movie night out pleasant, relaxing and fun. I also like their food menu -it's nice to have choices, not just popcorn. I think the Stub club is a good idea. You get $10 to use on concessions or tickets for every $100 you spend. This place was filthy. First we had to use a machine to get a ticket. Then was a large water puddle by the concession. Pop stands looked As if they had not been cleaned this summer. My go to theater for movies. Overall, this theater gets the job done. The picture is usually crisp and clean and the sound is loud and very clear. there has been a few times that my brother-in-law and I went to a movie and it was out of focus, but after letting them know and tweeting to them, this issue seemed to have been resolved. I still don't ever purchase concessions due to the outrageous costs, but seem to purchase something with my wife when I hit the $10 Stubs reward when you spend $100. One thing that annoys the crap out of me is the seat numbers. Most of the time, its rather dark in the theaters when I go site down and you can't see the seat numbers at all. You have to whip out your phone and use the screen's light to see them. These should be lit up. Also, the price hikes. A matinee showing, (before noon), used to be $4.50 a year or two ago, now its $6 and I don't see an end to the increasing price. Overall, I like this theater, especially their reclining seats, and usually go to a movie every couple weeks or so. read more

As far as theaters go, this one is top notch. After the renovation, all the theaters inside now have the big comfortable seats that recline. I'm sure with this renovation they had to give up at least half the seating in order to install these newer and larger pleather chairs, so it's definitely a service to the customer. The ticket lines are efficient, there is a full bar in the lobby (which opens around 5) and the snack service is fully stocked with all your favorite movie items. Clean theaters and bathrooms. What more Could you ask from a movie theater?? Sit back (literally), relax and enjoy the show. read more

The armrest is completely ripped and the cup holder is wet and sticky, I don't think anyone has cleaned here. I bought 2 tickets for $11 each and the total came out to $27. Make it make sense. It's also Tuesday so this should've been $5. read more

We had a bit of a negative experience picking up my mobile concession order, but we spoke to a manager about it after the movie and she made it right. Beautiful theater. Great, centralized location. Good concession choices. I love the reclining, super comfortable chairs. The sound was AMAZING. In my movie, there was an old time phone ringing and it actually sounded like it was right in the theater. The image on the screen was very good, but there seemed to be some grey spots or smudges that showed up when the image was very light, not noticeable with a darker image. Nice clean restrooms too. When we lived in Omaha we used to go to this location all the time and this was back before they renovated it (yeah it's been a few years). Well imagine my surprise when we fly home to visit the family and went to the movies. You buy your tickets (and I'd recommend doing it online if you have a large crowd and want to sit together/have a good spot) and you pick your spots. We had to split up but it was still fine. The view from row E was great and I was even more thrilled to see reclining chairs. They were super comfortable and the controls worked without issue. As someone who has a hard time being comfortable I appreciated the ability to change my position several times during the movie. The sound quality has improved in my opinion too and the lights were darker than they used to be. They've also updated their pre-movie lecture thing they give. My only gripe would be I don't want to show up for a movie 2:20pm movie and then the movie doesn't start until 2:38pm. What happened to the previews BEFORE the movie started? Jeez... If given the chance I would come back for sure! read more

The popcorn is fresh most of the time depends if your going to a late movie they will not pop fresh popcorn since it's wasteful. But overall it's a great theater. read more

After arriving in Council Bluffs and staying for the weekend, me and the gf decided to catch a movie. I ordered my tickets online since I can't understand why people still wait in line to purchase their tickets. We enter the building and right in front of us is some gay looking Transformers dinosaur. Definitely not gonna watch that. I print out our tickets at the kiosk. Assigned seats. We walk over to the snacky snack booth and bought a bag of popcorn and a coke for about $350 bucks. Yes, three-hundred and fifty US dollars. The lady at the counter said that you can reuse/refill the cup as many times as you want but only that was "her little secret." Then we enter the theater. Found our seats in the dark after searching for them for 20 minutes. It is physically impossible to find your seat number. Had to run back home to get my flashlight. We sit. About 25 minutes of watching Maleficent and almost finishing our expensive bag of popcorn. I fell asleep. The reclined seats are way to comfortable to stay awake throughout any movie. Can't believe they expect me to watch anything with those kind of comfortable seats. My gf woke me up when the movie ended. I walked out and was glad I paid almost a full paycheck on watching movie trailers. The only reason why I go to movie theaters. lol at people who actually go and see the movie. read more

Omg what a bunch of goobers for staff here. Came to see Ghost in the Shell in IMAX 3D. We were worried that it would be full.....NOT! Got in and there was only 7 of us. They ticket girl said to grab the glasses by the entry before popcorn so we did. He went in to grab a the seat and I stood in line to eyeball the goodies. Mmm I decided to have the number two special which was Carmel corn and a soda ( although I didn't see any was wonder where they get it from). I got up to the line and the girl said sorry that's over there pointing to the other station with a line. So I was upset that I waited again steaming. Thank goodness I was early eh??!!! So when I reached the front of THAT line I mention the snafu in other line. She asked who it was and I agreed the person she said! Brother. So I get my stuff and I think she undercharged me but for the hassle I said nothing. Wow but when I went to pick up the popcorn it was heavier than I thought! Had to do a double grab. It looked good. But it ended up being only me eating so I had lots of leftovers. The soda machine was also goofed up. I pushed Dansani sparkling water with lime... by the time I tasted it I was in the theatre. It ended up being water with lime... crap. I was too lazy to walk all the way back to get a different one. Then the 3D part came to put your glasses on for the 3D previews and they were all blurry. Guess what? Everyone's were blurry!!! Really???? WTF??? So my galant hubby ran and got the correct ones for EVERYONE and handed them out!!!! They were greatful at least. Guess they were by the IMAX entrance at the bottom of the display. We told the manager as we exited and she sort of apologized. I went to relieve myself and bathrooms were busy so I went down a piece and sat..... no paper in both spools.... reallllly?????!!!!! Oh my Frickin GOD!! Is anything ok???? Yes the only thing that was great about that nite was the movie!!! It was awesome sauce and would love to see that again!! So if anyone reads this that matters ... your staff suck rocks big time. Great theater, but staff is not very knowledgeable on ticketing. First of all, I don't understand the purpose of getting tickets online and the having to WAIT IN LINE WITH EVERYONE ELSE. It kind of defeats the purpose. I implore you to check e-ticketing procedures in other places - you get a barcode on your phone, walk to the theater, and scan in at the door. No wait, no paper....just walk in and sit down. At least they have kiosks to print them. But I wasn't informed of this. The staff actually said I had to wait in line. I went to the kiosk anyway and got paper tix. Other than that, the place is nice, has very comfy seats, and typical movie fare at the snack bars. read more

The last 3 times I have been to this theater, the place has been filthy! I get it, you're trying to save money by having a skeleton staff during non-peak hours, but to just have a wet floor sign in front of your all-in-one soda machines instead of mopping it up? C'mon. (Same mess seen before and after our movie.) Popcorn has been everywhere the last few times we have been. I really wish we had taken photos. Additionally, the IMAX doesn't have the recliners. You pay more money for the screen but lose on the seating, probably so they can pack more bodies in and boost the profits. Since the Marcus Theater in Bellevue has been renovated, it is a much better theater. Plus, I can order some concessions and not have to trek through a bucket of popcorn or puddle of soda on the floor. read more

I absolutely love this theater. It's my home theater as it's closest to my house (not including Filmstreams since it doesn't show much mainstream stuff) Cheap prices earlier in the day and I usually find seating no matter what I'm trying to watch. I see a movie at least every other week, and my visits here are consistently pleasant. read more

This has now become out theater of choice due to the electronic reclining seats they've put in all the theaters (minus the IMAX theater). Prices are the same as any other theater, so why not spend your money in an extremely comfortable seat that reclines to almost 180 degrees (with foot rest). Ooooohh yeah. They have the normally overpriced concessions, but have a few healthier options too such as apple chips, pretzels and hummus, roasted nuts. Also if it's of interest a full bar as well. read more

It's been many moons since I have been to this place. I mean, I've been there a few times in the many years since AMC took over it from Kerasotes. I was a bit bummed because Kerasotes did have some pretty nifty perks for going there which is prolly why it got sold due to not making any money. Phooey. So the last time I was here it was for the I max showing of The Hobbit 2 and it was ok. Mainly because I watched a 3D movie that was slightly out of focus. Insert headache. So today I was beckoned to a showing of Captain 'Merica 2. Tickets were bought online which, to my surprise, came with assigned seating. The "H" is this about assigned seating...movie fascists. I went along with it because I was dully unaware of what new toys this theaters packs. I'll get to that though. Don't you worry, baby birds...Daddy is gonna feed ya! Right. So ticket prices are pretty standard. Done on that front. D'Brickashaw, the Ex-Wife eating T-Rex counts as a child so he was a cheap date. I don't bother with the concession stand because, that's where ALL theaters get their blood money. I usually skip past this Sarlacc Pit unless I have a major hankering for cookie dough bites. I try to avoid them to maintain my curves. Yup. Ok, so after farting in the echo dome they have, because yes, I make my way past the ticket wench and proceed into what I believe is your standard stadium seating theater. Man...wrong on my part. The hell have I been doing? They have MF'n recliners now??? With buttons to perform this reclining. What is this sorcery??? Color me shocked. So, of course, I hop in and play with the buttons. Teehee!! BUTTONS!!!! So comfort in my movie viewing experience is pretty much solid. Good job, warlocks. So that wins and now onto the previews and movie. After a brief "Shut. The. Hell. Up." to our chatty Cathy's, sitting next to the party I was there with, the movie fired up and...and...and...ug. Though not a 3D movie, it too was out of focus. We were about midrange in our seating distance and that picture was a bit fuzzy. Doh!! I mean, not to say I didn't pay attention during the epicness that was Cap 2, but during the slow moments, the blur was noticeable. Bummer! For all the things it had right, the main selling point was a bit marred. Now that doesn't kill this place for me. I'll got back for the buttons and chairs and echo dome farting. But giving me a fuzzy movie again keeps this place from being the end all, be all of movie theaters. So close though. Now go get some cookie dough bites, you heathens. Put them in your facehole.
