    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Dan P.

Honestly, I came here because I was craving Chicken tikka masala, and it's not their speciality here. Maybe I should try their Mediterranean food, but their tikka masala lacks that curry flavor. I tried my best to like the food but I just can't. There are way better chicken tikka masala out there. I only ate a little bit of it and couldn't take anymore bites. Especially when there isn't enough sauce. On top of that, the server never came and asked how my food was. Instead the workers spent most of their time talking to a very chatty customer that wouldn't stop talking. I dont think im gonna get my food to go because they literally don't know how to make a traditional chicken tikka masala. I wouldn't trust their biryanis as well. I hope they do something right because I paid almost $30 for something I did not enjoy at all. And I really hope they make actual chicken tikka masala, because this wasn't it

Brand new restaurant! Delicious Indian and Arabic fusion, family owned and operated - very nice people! The kabob was excellent and the bone-in chicken biryani signature dish is a must try, especially with the sauces they recommend. Also, the fries were thick and great. Excellent salads and hummus as well. 10/10 highly recommend!

Brand new place - still getting decor and ambience down but the food is excellent. Love the Indian and Arab combo concept. We had the chicken biryani, karahi paneer, chicken kabob plate, fries, hummus, baba ghanoush. All were delicious but stand outs were karahi paneer and all the side. We will be back!

    Garlic Naan

Writing this review since they're fairly new and will hopefully make some adjustments. We ordered the chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, daal makhani, and garlic naan. First time having biryani so I can't compare... it was a decent chicken and rice dish. Wasn't expecting the bones so be careful when eating. Daal makhani was more watery than I've had at other places. The two dishes that unfortunately made me not want to come back was the tikka masala that was super salty and the garlic naan which was the smallest naan I've ever had at an Indian restaurant. It looks exactly like Trader Joe's packaged naan which tastes good but not authentic and there were some tough dry spots like it was microwaved too long. If I see photos or reviews of a change in these items I might consider giving them another try. Also want to mention it's not really a place for a sit down meal. More like a casual deli vibe. Spent $80 for 2 people incl tip. Unfortunately not worth that price point.

The food is very good and filling. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich thinking it wouldn't be enough food but it was. And every bite of the sandwich was so full of a diverse multitude of flavors. I love it because I feel like this type of food can be easy to mess up, but Zait and Zaatar gets it just right. I look forward to coming back. Also the man in the hat who took our order, perhaps the owner, was so welcoming and friendly to us. It may have been because I was with my friend who has been there before but I really appreciated that and I pay attention to those details whenever I go eat someplace.

I placed an online order for the baked fish plate around 12:45 PM and expected a bit of a wait since it was fish. After waiting about 25 minutes, I called and was told it would be another 10-15 minutes. The restaurant was busy, so I understood. However, after waiting longer and checking inside twice, my order still wasn't ready and there seemed to be confusion about its status. In total, I waited close to an hour for an order that was placed online in advance. What bothered me most was seeing customers who ordered in person receive their food before me. It felt like my online order had been overlooked. If online ordering is offered, those orders should be monitored and fulfilled properly, especially during busy times. The food itself was good, but the plate could have been put together better. The fries were placed directly on top of the fish, which made them soggy and took away from the presentation. It would make much more sense to serve the fries on the side. Overall, the food is still good, but the long wait, confusion with the online order, and lack of attention to presentation make me hesitant to rely on the online ordering system again.

The chicken was incredibly moist, and the rice was fluffy, buttery, and full of flavor. The baba ghanoush was rich and smoky, while the hummus was smooth and creamy. The best part of our experience was the outstanding service from Albert. He was incredibly polite, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The service was wonderful; they constantly brought out warm, pillowy pita and kept checking on us without being intrusive. Unimportant, but if it matters to you: they don't serve alcohol. they do have this amazing yogurt drink you can have with food (Super good for digestion). However, at the end of your meal, you get this stunning, thick, dark coffee that is pure magic and works like a total defibrillator. LOL. Seriously, it's incredible. My former boss is from Syria and highly recommended this spot, but he never made the drive down--he really missed out. At this point, I'm counting the days until we return because everything is fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. Seriously - great. My former boss was from Syria and came highly recommended, but never made the drive down. At this point, I'm counting the days until we return here again, because everything is fresh, flavourful, and vibrant. Here's what we ordered: Sampler - Housemade hummus was spectacular, the baba ghanouj was so savory and a bit smokey, and the falafel was warm, wonderfully spiced and not dry at all. I also HAD to try the kibbeh, never had before - amazing, so delicate, light, not overfried or oily at all. The spices inside were so wonderful, especially when pairing with some of the dips. Mixed grill : The meat was exceptionally good, tender, perfectly grilled, and juicy. The rice was fluffy, buttery, and fragrant. Mixed seafood grill: Delectable. The fish was beautiful grilled and lightly spiced to allow the delicate fish to shine through. I am no expert at this type of cuisine, but I've eaten plenty of Middle Eastern and Armenian food, and you really can't go wrong with rice and grilled meats - it's in our blood! PS: I personally love a bit of sumac on my rice and meat, lovely, bright, sour note that is very pleasing with this food. Thank you for the wonderful service and amazing food. We loved it. I wish we had this exact place in South OC.
