I'm honestly surprised to see such low ratings for Al Walters. I had them out over a year ago to replace a furnace and they seemed reasonable and were quick and efficient. I have recently had them back out to service a boiler, which didn't go as well, but was no fault of theirs. They did give me a quote for work needed and expressed bc of covid that the lead time may be a while due to not being able to get/keep appropriate staffing, but overall seem very knowledgeable and efficient. read more

Al Walters installed a new furnace and air conditioner at my home and did an excellent job. the installers were on job on time and got the old out and the new in and left the job site looking great. I'd use them again! I have no idea how Yelp has me in California, I'm in Ypsilanti Michigan right along with Al Walters Heating & Air Conditioning. read more

I made an appointment for AC maintenance, switching out a thermostat and a quote for adding a gas line. A few days later my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled. A week later when no one showed up on the day of the reschedule, I called and was told it was assigned wrong, something along those lines. No apology for someone not showing. I let it go. The person i spoke to said he would call me back in 2 minutes, I assume to get me back on a schedule. He called me back at 4:55pm and left a voicemail. I tried to return the call and got the answering machine. Understandable, at least he called back in general? I called today during business hours and i was hung up on. So... I'd be an idiot to keep begging for Al to take my money. read more

As a Builder, it is important to find HVAC subcontractors who are honest and do the right thing. These guys are great. From the receptionist being very pleasant to talk to everytime we call to the owner(Ed) we always have a wonderful experience with this company. They are a small company that gets big things done for a great price. Whether we have a small microwave wall cap needing installed all the way through installing new A/C these guys are who we call. I've never left a project after using Al Walters H/AC with anything but satisfaction. Just a wonderful company to work with and nice people to deal with all around. A+ read more

The day my daughter came home from the hospital after surgery, the furnace went out. I called my first guy, who couldn't make it for 4 days and he suggested Al Walters. They came out the next morning and had that thing fixed by the end of the day even after needing to order the part, (just the igniter). My daughter was home and said Bob was SUPER nice. Cost was very reasonable. We are happily warm again! read more

I called Walters heating to fix my gas fireplace and they never fixed it and charge me $125. I have complained to them and told them that it is not fixed and nobody returns my calls! The man that came to fix my fireplace spent most of his time going back upstairs and downstairs to his vehicle for one thing or another they were barely here for 45 minutes and all I heard from the repair man was how he wanted to buy the company from the owner and that he wanted to make sure he made enough money so he had to charge me 125 because he wanted to make sure the company was in good shape when he bought it! His exact words! These people do not stand behind their work number one number two they charge you for doing nothing I still had the same problem I had before and they don't care!! I would never use them again and I suggest finding somebody else that cares more about customer satisfaction!! Well I tried to work with them and had them out again they were supposed to fix it they said and make me happy well they came out the owner and said that he didn't know what was wrong with it he couldn't do anything because he had customers that were needing heat and that was more important my fireplace is not important enough so I'm supposed to wait for eight days! I said forget it I'll find a company that actually cares to take care of me!!! read more

Never again. We've used them in the past and they've been great but never again. Guy came out, pulled a wire OUT of the furnace, poked around, and told my husband we needed a new furnace because whatever is happening (he didn't even say!) will happen again. Didn't even check anything and the service call was $85.00. Husband is FURIOUS! Evidently the company is now Master Craft. Do NOT recommend in any way, shape, or form. read more

Well all I can say is the lady who answers the phone over there loses this company a lot of money!! Had them come out and figure out why my ac was not working, they charged my wife $75 bucks and let us know the fan was not working, ok cool no problem paying for there time... so I called back to schedule an appointment to get my system repaired and I had a few questions that the secretary could not answer? so I asked if I could speak to the mechanic? and the lady said customers are not allowed to talk to the mechanics!!! Wow I had only asked because I told her before he came out the first time to check the AC unit connector and she did not put that on the paperwork so I was just merely trying to make sure that the proper information was being put forth to the mechanic I asked her again and she told me I don't have to deal with you and she hung up the phone..Now I do admit that I was frustrated with her for not putting the info on the paper work ( house is 100 degrees inside) and I have kids. no shit given with this lady, all these years of giving them money... one time I call with a slight frustration to my voice!!! I never once swore our raised my voice.. it was because of her incapability of doing her job. I then called back and left a message for the owner Mr. Al waters he called me back an hour later I told him the situation and he said he apologized and said he would get the parts and call me back..never heard back from them that was a week and a half ago...they just lost a good customer I have been doing business with them for years now my system is 22 years old and I'm having the whole thing replaced your loss Al waters read more

I am glad that the reviewer listed below me had a good experience, because my experience is COMPLETELY HORRIBLE. The Al Walters Company, the owner, and the administrator, have dragged out my remodeling job for over 6 months, when they could easily have completed it within one month. They repeatedly tell me that they will show up -- and then they just don't! When they do finally show up, instead of completing several of the many remaining items on their list, they do one item -- no, I take that back, they PARTIALLY do one item and then they leave. After each encounter, I spend way too much of my time on phone calls and emails to them, pleading for them to complete the work. I have been promised they will arrive tomorrow, but I am fairly certain that when they do they will say they haven't order the needed part (remember they have had our architectural plans for over 6 months, so nothing is a surprise), and then, once again, they will leave for another week or two. I strongly recommend AGAINST hiring this company. For the record, this is the first negative review I have ever taken the time to write. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE! We inherited this service from the previous owners and just did not want to switch for the last 6 years. Unfortunately the service is getting worse every year. The administrative assistant is very unprofessional. They expect you to tell them all the details and actually what are the important details. You would expect that after servicing our house for 20+ years they would know how many units you have, or at least look it up when they schedule your service, or worst case, ask you how many units are there. I scheduled a service, missed work and stayed home, and when the technician arrived he only had time for one unit, because he didn't know we had two... Another example, I just scheduled a service and they didn't arrive. After I called to ask what happened they told me that my phone number was not dialing. How about confirming my phone number when you schedule an appointment! They also always dump your service when there is an emergency, which is a good thing for hose who have an emergency. But you would expect them to make sure you get the best service as well, and not just miss a day at work. Don't waste your time! read more
