In addition, I do not have a Haraz Coffee House near me, so when I am near one of their locations, I make it a point to pop in. I love Haraz. I love the ambience. I love the coffee. I love the pastry selection. I love the service. The consistency I've experienced from location to location is top-notch. The cleanliness here is impeccable, too. That bears mentioning. My go-to is the Haraz Latte. Iced. While this could never be my every day coffee, it is something I really enjoy and treat myself to when I'm able to go to a Haraz. As someone who doesn't proclaim to like cheesecake, their Biscoff cheesecake is the exception. Maybe it's a blessing that one isn't close by and I can only indulge every now and then. If you want a break from your regular coffee, give Haraz a shot. Especially when the summer heat kicks in - the iced coffee + cardamom is pretty great. Also, they seem to have a high standard for hiring. The staff is always great. Please tip generously ;)

Open later than most coffee shops, especially in this deserted part of town. Varied drink menu, both caffeinated and not caffeinated, including refreshers. Nice creative variety of desserts (including a Biscoff cake!) and a kolaches case. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The bad: Nothing vegan or healthy, not even pre-made cold sandwiches or packaged salads. If you are a little peckish for a healthy snack, this is not the place. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.

It seems like they position their rolls more as a dessert, which isn't a dealbreaker. We came back later that afternoon after some meetings. The shop itself is simple and cute, with a wide variety of rolls to choose from. Honestly, it's hard not to want one of everything. We ended up ordering six, and I have to say, the rolls were delicious. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. We were greeted, but it felt cold and unwelcoming. After that, we were mostly ignored and ended up ordering through the touchscreen. There was a sign suggesting customers "ask about the secret menu," so I did. Instead of responding, she silently placed a paper on the counter and moved on. The interaction felt dismissive, like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. It's disappointing because the rolls really were great, but the service left a bad impression. They really live up to the name CRANKY granny's! I don't know if it was the way I dressed or looked, but he didn't seem very happy to serve his first customer of the day. 2. The location is a little "ghetto" for such a fancy restaurant. That's it! That's the bad list. On to the positives. OMG the food tho! I was upset that I had to pay $11 for one taco, but let me tell you, once the plate hit the table the magic began! The presentation was beautiful! I almost did not want to eat it because it looked so pretty. Then I took a bite...holy hell it was amazing! I asked about the Keto cupcakes a week before hand and the owner mentioned that she would be…read moreselling single cupcakes on sundays and would include the keto ones for me which was amazing since they are a made to order item. I'm so grateful to her, its been so hard to find a place with good keto desserts. There was a bit of a wait because she had a lot going on she even offered to deliver them to my house but i waited the extra 30 min instead. so she also gave me 2 extra cupcakes on top of my order for the inconvenience. The owner is so sweet she even sang me happy birthday and put a candle in one of the cupcakes when I came to pick up. Over all a great experience and I will be going back again.
