It is a premier open air shopping and dining center, and it's located in the heart of Waikiki. I like its convenient location, although you'll have to keep in mind to expect long waiting lines for food and drinks during rush hours.

    Vast and open.

"Get in loser, we're going shopping." ― Regina George, Mean Girls What a gorgeous shopping space right in a central location on Kalakaua Ave! We're talking a four-stories tall, open-air, commercial retail complex. My colleague and I decided to pop in after a delicious lunch to peruse some of their offerings. Kira x Miffy? Stüssy with their exclusive Hawaii line? Are high-end luxury brands your thing? They have everything here. They also have some great eateries and free entertainment nearly daily. Check their website for an event schedule. It's a great outdoor space with lots of places for you to spend your hard earned dollars. Enjoy, have fun, and charge it!

Beautiful shopping center with lots of restaurants and shopping in an open air mall. Can get very busy.

We went here to watch Rock-a-hula. The dinner was buffet and there was a lot of food. The best for me was the lechon. Its skin was so crunchy and a lot of flavors. Include in the buffet was roast beef , chicken, fresh fruits. Drinks, macaroni salad, rice, fish. Potato dish that I forgot the name, rice. They had their own sauces. Everything was good and it was well organized. Inside the theater, we were not allowed to take pics or video of the show so, I didn't have much taken. Service was good and friendly. Value wasn't too bad. With all the food, you'd be satisfied. The show was very entertaining. In. Summary, it's the history of Hawaii and its music at the beginning until the present.

We were walking around Waikiki and came across the Royal Hawaiian Center when we were looking for a little treat. I wanted a mid day pick me up so we were looking for coffee. They have shopping as well as food options. It is beautiful walking around in there. They also have seating that you can sit down at and enjoy. It was a very peaceful moment while I enjoyed my drink.

As a whole, I enjoyed visiting this center. When it came to the directory, I only wanted to visit the food spots. I'm not a person who tends to shop in the mall. If I do, it's for the holiday vibes and food court. Before the center got packed, I visited Penny's Waikiki malasadas. I noticed the other two places I wanted to try wouldn't open until later. I decided to explore the center as I devoured the malasadas. Once Mahaloha Burger Waikiki and Wicked Maine Lobster opened, I placed orders to-go. This center has a fantastic selection of delicious foods. If you don't want to go far from your hotel to grab a meal, the center has all you need for your entire trip.

My second favorite mall in Honolulu, conveniently located near the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Waikiki Beach. They have a good selection of high-end retail stores, a food court, and great dining options. There's even a nice courtyard, The Royal Grove, where you can take free hula lessons and enjoy free entertainment. I see kids play around here with families. Recommended stores and eateries to visit: Dean & Deluca- lots of Japanese visitors go there for afternoon tea and merch Miffy x Kira for Miffy fans out there Koho Chocolates- Hawaiian-inspired chocolate souvenir Honolulu Cookie Company- pineapple-shaped butter cookies to take home Junbi- matcha Island Vintage Shave Ice- always a long line Kith Treats- soft serves inside a luxury retail store Kith Banan- frozen banana soft serve with fruits served outside of the building by walking through the beach access Island Vintage Coffee- always a line at 5 am TsuruTonTan- mentaiko ramen Tim Ho Wan- popular dim sum for Filipinos Restaurant Suntory- fancy Japanese restaurant Btw, their restrooms near the food court are labeled in Hawaiian, so remember "Wahine" is for women and "Kane" is for men for anyone coming from the Mainland and other countries. I also hate that they charge over $10 for parking past two hours, but you can get it validated at a restaurant. Prefer to walk from the hotel or take The Bus.

The Royal Hawaiian Center hosts live music and hula every night in the Center Court Atrium at 5:30 to 6:30pm. The highlights are the Kawika Trask show on Tuesday night. The live music blends traditional Hawaiian songs, as well as some hapa haole songs in a fast paced 1 hr show. They incorporate traditional hula with several dancers and explain every song and it's meaning to the crowd. Be sure to stay to the end of the show as you may get a fresh flower lei put on you to end the night.

Large outdoor shopping center. Great selection of stores ranging from high end to local boutiques. There are a ton of restaurants and also a food hall. It's a nice area to walk around and hangout. Sometimes they have performances like singing or hula dancing.

security woman recording on the job and threatening to call the police on the young lady doing her makeup.

I witness an act of discrimination by a security guard. She single out a woman name Jazz for doing her makeup, meanwhile I can visibly see a man in other bathroom shaving his face. That's not right! What's the policy where makeup is not hygienic but shaving is?

The Royal Hawaiian Center has been around since the '80s, and they have various stores and boutiques, dining options, and even family-friendly events. We came here to purchase a luggage, grab some drinks, as well as some desserts to go. I just wished that areas were clearly labeled and/or have more directories so you can easily locate places you need to get to. There's parking available that you can also get validated. +family-friendly events +validation available

Fun shopping center- big and bustling with a lot of activities, decorated for Christmas time with plenty of Hawaiian singing and hula dancing performances in the plaza. Lots of food and shopping options as well as a food court and a food hall.

Vendors chatting, laughter in the distance. A comforting hum, a laid-back vibe. Unpretentious and deeply welcoming. All centered around a grand, massive 100+ year old banyan tree. Balanced on urban living, it was a connection to the social fabric of Honolulu. Nostalgic, charming, extremely unique. This was the original International Marketplace in Waikīkī. From 1956 to 2013. I remember it vividly. Do you? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I grew up coming to this open-air marketplace. Eclectic shops and a food court. This place had personality, charm, island-style warmth. I frequented this spot from childhood into young adulthood when traveling from the Big Island of Hawai'i and during my university days at Mānoa. Memories with my family as a kid, with my college friends many years later. Having a quick meal as an adult at the International Marketplace food court while employed in Waikīkī. It was a spot for cheap eats in a relaxed setting. I've watched musical diva and Hawai'i legend, Melveen Leed perform many times. My parents still remember watching Don Ho here. Physical expansion and a multi-million dollar modernization to capture high spending visitors as tourism and revenue shifts in Hawai'i. Honestly, I've shopped and dined at this modern version of the International Marketplace more times than the one I grew up with. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Revisit the International Marketplace like I have and embrace the transformed landscape. As it evokes deep sentimental meaning, a bittersweet clash of cherished history and modern progress. Take a photo by the iconic century-old banyan tree. There was this poor lady in front of me that tied up her dog on the poles (but in eye distance). It's so hot out right now and the risk of overheating or even kidnapped is a possibility. I could never do that and leave my dog tied up even if its 10 steps away because it could just take seconds for my sweet simba to be stolen. However, they don't seem to mind if you carry them or have them contained in something like a bag tho, but i think thats a little unfair for people who have larger dogs and can't do this. I also did not realize that the park across with the bridge also doesnt allow dogs on the grass, but it seemed like it just recently happened when the newer park re-opened. I think maybe a good solution is to add more trash cans around and maybe doggy bags like other communities that allow pets instead of hiring security to enforce pet owners to stay off the grass. Please don't punish the pet owners that are responsible but come up with a solution that there can be at least a happy medium for everyone.
