First time here Buying tickets on line is easy There is a small service charge fee of $5 Ticket price itself was $25 per person There is an outdoor patio with tables and heating lamps while you wait for your show to start Patio is nicely decorated and gives off a chill vibe Inside is small but big enough if that makes Stage is small and intimate Customer service is friendly There is a full bar available Food is ok and reasonably priced Comedy show was fun Atmosphere was chill and crowd was cool There is a small parking area on the side or you can park in the street or parking garage I would definitely consider coming back here Next time I want to try the Drag show/Brunch

Had a wonderful time here performing in the east bay comedy completion . The food was much better than I would expect for this kind of place and the waitstaff was great. Its a shame they are closing soon

Alameda Comedy Club is an entertainment venue in smalltown A-town first discovered yesterday since a friend posted on LinkedIn about his first appearance on this kind of stage. First-timer tonight. The comedy show was hilarious and the MC was incredibly down to earth, honest, and hysterical. The poke dish was delish. The shishito peppers were a bit spicy for a friend and me but luckily, ACC has to-go boxes and the aioli with the peppers was an explosion of yum. Always try my best to never waste. The bourbon cat cocktail seemed enjoyable and the sparkling strawberry lemonade was divine. Areas of improvement: loved the food, drinks, and service. An itemized bill would have been appreciated. Strengths: the attentive service, excellent entertainment and enthusiasm, and the floor plan layout. Thank you so much for the fun memories and an amazing time out past our school night hours.

These fried Mac n Cheese balls were our favorite... piping hot and very cheesy!

We went August 17th. We actually were recommended this place from watching them featured on Check Please, Bay Area. They have 2 shows per Saturday/Sunday night 7am and 9pm, we went to the early show. They open the doors 30 min ahead of time and there is a lovely area out back with comfy seating and fire pit to hang out before show starts. They seat you and take your order right away. Everyone was SO NICE and very welcoming. They have great food selections, we loved everything we tried. The drinks are creative and delicious and strong!! All the comedians we saw that night (3 + the host/emcee) were all phenomenal & very funny!! We already want to go back. Cannot recommend this place highly enough if you want a fun night with great entertainment, service and food/drinks!!

First time coming here. We didn't know this place existed until I did a random Google search for events this weekend. We had a great time watching a comedy show this past Saturday (Shawn Felipe). Staff had excellent customer service and space was really nice indoors and outdoors. It was cool they had a photo backdrop area set up outside. There was a small parking lot and street parking available. We enjoyed the truffle fries and the calamari. We liked that the establishment felt very clean compared to other comedy clubs I've been to. And the tables and chairs were spaced out nicely, not squished together like other places. Another plus is at the door they just looked up our names on the list instead of having to bring printed tickets or pulling up the tickets on our phone. Loved that extra convenience. Can't wait to come back and enjoy another night out here. We will bring more friends next time.

Gotta say, the food is good

We try to support local businesses as much as possible. Since Alameda Comedy opened, we've gone to at least 10 shows. The food and drinks are good. The comedians are hit or miss (like any comedy show) but we have a nice time. But tonight was a bummer. We were seated at a small table for four (small is normal). There was hardly any space between the table in front of us so we moved our table back a little to allow room for the servers to walk by. BUT DO NOT do that or else get "disciplined". Then right before the show started and seeing the place wasn't going to fill, we asked to add the empty table next to us so we'd have more room for 8 drinks and 3 appetizers. Apparently, that isn't allowed either. Instead, they offered us a bigger table off to the side with a worse view. We decided to stay put but the table next to us and tables in our area were EMPTY all night. How is any of this logical? It isn't. Saving grace is the show was good but we would've enjoyed it more if none of that ridiculousness happened. Not sure we'll go back.

This place is dope. They have open mics on Thursday's, great comics on the weekends. The food is good the drink are not crazy expensive. The owner and his wife are so nice and the staff is excellent. Make sure this place is your go to stop for all the fun. They've only been open a year but they definitely know how to bring the funny. If you are a comic you can do open mics and even get your set video taped and given to you for $10 that is a steal. This place has it all. I highly recommend checking out their Thursday night open mics. This is some of the best 5 minute sets I've seen in a long time. A great way to spend two hours l. You could even stick around for the 8pm show and see a heavy hitting headliner.

What a great spot for my first comedy show! We came to see Laurie Kilmartin and what a show! She has 3 acts that opened her up and they were great! Nothing worse than a weak opening! While we were a huge fan of the first person who opened the show the next two comedians were great warming us up for Laurie! Then Laurie came on and it is no surprise that she was the opening act! She was super funny and it was a great fun show! There is a 2 "drink" minimum. You can purchase drinks or food to count towards this minimum. Make sure to order 2 things though because they will add a 2nd charge if you do not. There is a list of classic cocktails, wine and beer you can order. The food menu is on the smaller side but that is not the reason you are here. And there are some great bites to enjoy watching the show. Also there is street parking near the club or a parking lot right near so no worries on the parking! Fun spot to enjoy a first comedy show!!

Burnt banana fritter. There is no banana it in, Look like burnt meatballs, taste like burnt doughs. Charge $8+tax for this garbage.
    Irene X.

Super cute place, the comedy was good, although one of the female comedian was boring and the joke was a bit awkward. The reason for 2 stars is because of the dessert that we had, which is Banana Foster Fritters with caramel sauce ($8). It was the WORST banana fritters I've ever had. It was burnt, totally burnt doughs without the banana fruits in it. It is not banana fritters, and it is not eatable. It is very dry, they look like black meatballs! I couldn't believe this place serve GARBAGE to their guests! This "Banana Foster Fritters" IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE MENU UNLESS THIS PLACE JUST WANT TO OFFEND THE GUESTS AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!

Drag and brunch. Fresh fruit, bacon , sausage, smoked salmon, fried capers, pickled red onion, tar tar, waffles and maple syrup!
    Oliver B.

My first show amidst covid and felt safe, well taken care of and saw an amazing drag show (every Sunday brunch and show). From the bouncer who was lgbtq kind and welcoming, put a smile on my face and got me ready for an experience to match. Excellent, attentive service on their outside socially distances tables . Solid food with a complete brunch spread. I mean bacon, sausage, waffles, maple syrup with salmon, to fried capers, tar tar sauce and pickled red onions with a strong drink? Yes please, and thank you. They went above and beyond and we saw an amazing drag show that is happening weekly! Definitely worth checking out and supporting this gem

I attended a drag show over brunch at the Alameda Comedy Club. This was an awesome combination of good food, good drinks, comedy and drag show with some fabulous queens!!! The performances were all fun to watch, highly entertaining and engaging. I plan to go there again soon for one of the many other programs they have scheduled. Maybe even participate in the open mic they have on Wednesday! Since we are at the Covid era, I must add that all precautions are taken to keep everyone safe. Tables are kept far apart and visitors are asked to avoid crowding near the stage. Temperature is taken at the entrance. Overall, I highly recommend!!!

Alameda Comedy Club Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Alameda Comedy Club

Is this age appropriate for 12 year old kids?

Yes, for Sunday brunch. Thursday through Saturday night comedy shows are 18+ but we are flexible down to 15 if they come with parents and all are ok with some mature content.

Is there a gluten free option for the brunch?

Our waffle brunch platter is already gluten free. Thanks.

Is there a way to order the brunch platter without the salmon or is it a premade platter? I'm allergic to fish and wanted to check in before purchasing tickets

Yes, you can have your platter without salmon. Just ask your server.

Is there bar seating or only tables?

Hi Daniel, We have all table seating at the club. Thanks.

Do you need a ticket to get into the comedy show?

Yes. You can buy tickets in advance at https://alamedacomedy.com or buy them when you arrive at the club.

It's rare you can find it sold as a restaurant entree, though I had it once at Emmy's Spaghetti Shack and it was pretty good (review: https://bit.ly/3vR5N13). That's why I gave this virtual business a shot via a DoorDash delivery. I was worried it would be a mushy wet mess by the time it made it to my house. But no, it was expectedly wet but preserved quite well. I ordered the $15.90 Chicken Pesto Zoodle which featured their housemade pesto, cherry tomatoes, and a generous amount of diced chicken (photo: https://bit.ly/3kOMXS0). It worked. Just for contrast, I also went for the $7.90 Fried Cauliflower for the crunch and the spicy dipping sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/38YqqiI). This restaurant is actually a cloud kitchen inside the Oakland Food Hall (aka Jingletown Eats) in East Oakland. The other day, I ordered Ground Beef Marinara Zoodle thru the Seamless app. The meal arrived promptly and still hot. However, the soft fiber food container was damp and was leaking a little. But the food looked good, as you can see in my photos. Good amount of beef on top of Zucchini spaghetti. How did it taste? The sauce tastes good. I miss the creamy texture of real spaghetti. Also, the sauce is watery. To be gluten free, I think you can still add more cheese and thicker tomato sauce. Maybe the problem is the veggie noodles don't soak up the extra liquid, and you end up with a pool of watery sauce. Ground Beef Marinara Zoodle, $15.90 Anyway, I like the concept, it fits my dietary needs. I will try other dishes.

Benedict (buttermilk biscuit, dungeness crab cakes, marinated swiss chard & beet greens, herbed hollandaise, poached eggs & mixed greens): I'm not a huge benedict person because they can feel heavy, but this one was fantastic. I loved the textures and flavors of the crab cakes pairing with the greens and vegetables. It felt balanced and not too creamy or exhausting to eat. It definitely stands out from the run-of-the-mill brunch benedict. Vegetable Hash (roasted sweet potatoes, garnet yams, sunchokes, cauliflower, cremini mushrooms, celery root & onion, savoy spinach & poached eggs): This was also delicious and also set itself apart from the standard brunch hash. I loved the different vegetables in it besides being just potatoes and onions. The mushrooms and root vegetables worked really well together. Everything was well-seasoned. I'm glad we ended up choosing these dishes even though neither were my original top choices (I decided on the menu with my friend). It made me feel like you can choose anything and it'd be a banger. We were quite full from these dishes, and we forget we also ordered beignets to come out last. They were fluffy and mostly air (but not in a bad way). The service throughout the meal was good. We were checked on from time-to-time and our waters were refilled, although I wish the water glasses were a little bigger. One small thing to note was that we were given the check while we were still eating, even though the restaurant was still seating people despite it being close to closing time. Unsure if/why we were rushed like this. Overall, this was a memorable brunch spots I've been to in the Bay (dare I say one of the best?). We left smelling like a campfire. I would recommend it.

I'm guessing veggie burgers have come a long way since I first tried them 15 yrs ago. Most important, the Impossible Burger doesn't try to be something it's not, it doesn't try to pretend it's red meat. It just tastes good. However, it's a small hamburger. The patty is probably close to a "10:1" patty....aka "10 to 1." That means it takes 10 precooked meat patties to equal 1-lb. Example: a Big Mac uses 10:1 patties. Tater Tots, Grade (4/5). Travels well for delivery. Generous serving. Crispy and soft inside. So, a good meal from a cloud kitchen inside the Oakland Food Hall. I came here last night for a personal event. I told the owner that I was not going to do a review…read moretonight, but he actually stated for me to do one... so here it goes. For the event, we had reserved labels on our tables. The waiter took drink orders, then food orders. I came late and requested to be the last one to place a food and drink order because I did not want to hold the others up. The waiter forgot about me. He never returned. Fortunately, a waitress was bringing something over to a table buddy of mine and I was able to place my order with her. However, I ordered 2 drinks. One was supposed to come immediately after ordering and the other with my food. The waitress said she was going to try to plan the one with my food so it came out together. She forgot about my 1st drink until reminded almost 20 mins later. I ordered my food which was $17.50 sliders with a substitute of fries $2.. and add bacon $2. When my food came, it came with some sort of greens (Arugula salad..I think) and a side of fries. I don't understand why I got salad because I substituted it for fries. My fries came out first, which made no sense because I ordered my food together. However, upon tasting the fries.. they were cold in some parts..smh. I sent them back for hot fries. The sliders seemed overcooked because they were dry. I'm used to sliders being juicy and soft. My sliders were hard...smh. I did not bother to send them back because I was with many people and I really did not feel like going through the motions tonight..as I normally would have of my food order is just wrong. When the bill came, I noticed that they charged me $9 for a large fries. If it was only +2 to substitute... why did I get charge that? I went on and paid it without complaints. There were at least 4 ppl who ordered food before me and they still did not get their food and it was like an hour passing. I had 2 glasses of wine (Malbec & Blanc). Both were good. I loved the fact that they had karaoke. However, I disliked the fact that people who had gone once still went a 2nd time although there were plenty of people who still had not gone a 1st time. I think this place is chill. They need to do better with accomodating larger parties in both a timely manner and effectively ensuring food is correct, hot and cooked to perfection. I think they probably do best with a table of 4 or 5 ppl. Lastly, it was super hot in here. Yes there are ceiling fans. However, it seems that they have no central air whatsoever. That's ridiculous. Oh BTW.. no waiter ever came back to our table to ask if we wanted to order anything more. They also did not come over to ask if the food was good either. Our finshed plates say in front of us from the time we got it until almost 11pm. I would say that my table received food by 8:30ish.

In the morning I ordered: Spicy Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and an order of Tater Tots. The delivery arrived in a reasonable time, with a short delay at the pickup. How was the food? Nothing special Tater Tots, (3/5): Not very crispy or hot. Tiny ketchup cup. Microwaved? Doesn't seem fresh from a fryer. Chorizo Burrito, (3/5): Big 21-oz burrito for $9.99. Not a bad price for such a heavy burrito. You can make 2 meals out of it. Yes, it has spicy chorizo, eggs, taters, and cheese. But if you want more add-ons, you have to pay more. Otherwise, it's just a regular breakfast burrito. Overall, a good burrito. 3-Stars. ----------------------------------------------------- * What's a ghost kitchen? We walked in without a reservation and were seated quickly. There was plenty of seating outside and a few tables inside; we chose inside. The atmosphere was lively but never loud! Everyone around us looked genuinely happy to be there. Service was a standout. Our waiter was attentive, fast, kind, and offered great recommendations without being pushy. Exactly what you want. Food: We started with the Corn Fritters and the Smashed Potatoes, both scrumptious, but the Corn Fritters were exceptional. Both came out hot, fast, and in generous portions. For our mains, we shared the Fried Chicken Sando and the Three Little Pigs. The Chicken Sando was phenomenal! I have not stopped thinking about it. The bun was warm, buttery, and soft, and the chicken was perfectly moist. On the Three Little Pigs tray, the pork shoulder was the clear winner: moist, beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of fat. Really well done. The one letdown: the sausages and ribs on the Three Little Pigs tray were unfortunately quite dry, which was disappointing given how strong the rest of the meal was. The BBQ sauce was just okay, and the accompanying green salsa wasn't our style. Our bill came to $112 before tip; two appetizers, two mains, and an Arnold Palmer, which felt completely fair for the quality and portion sizes. We left stuffed and with a ton of leftovers. We will absolutely be back. Thank you, Spinning Bones, for making a special night even more memorable.

Service was quiet but attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The food was the real star. We started with the Brussels sprouts (light, crispy, and perfectly cooked), calamari (well‑seasoned and not heavy at all), and warm biscuits with whipped honey butter--so good. The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. Overall, this place is an easy 5 stars. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and memorable food. I'll definitely be back to try the dishes we couldn't get to.

I was surprised that I didn't have to hold the reservations with a credit card which was nice. We arrived a few minutes early and waited just a few minutes before our table was ready. As soon as we sat down the hostess asked if we needed any waters. Our waiter Jacob also came around right away to see if we wanted to order any drinks, we ordered the old fashioned, the Mai tai special, and margarita. Drinks came back pretty quick which was good. All the drinks tasted pretty good. For starters we ordered the calamari for the table, fruit salad, clam chowder, and a wedge salad. The calamari came out first, it was cooked perfect, had good flavor to it, the Brussel sprouts mixed with it was tasty, and the lemon sauce that came with it was refreshing. The clam chowder was excellent but it was more like a cup than a bowl. The wedge salad was okay, I've never had eggs in my wedge before, and it could use some better bacon bits or whatever it was for the bits of meat. The fruit salad was great. For our entrees we ordered the Ribeye, the Lamb chops, the Pork chop, the New York or Sirloin, and the Duck Breast. The good thing is that all of the entrees came with sides versus a la cart. The entrees came out after a while which wasn't too bad. It seemed like they only had one waiter taking orders for all the tables. Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Pork Chop Sirloin, and the Duck Breast were cooked perfect, med rare, and great flavor on all the meats. The ribeye was a little tough which was weird since it was cooked perfect., so I don't why that was. All the sides (cream spinach, mashed potatoes, corn, brussel sprouts) were very good. For dessert we shared the Strawberry Shortcake and the Churros. Two great desserts, fluffy bread, tasty strawberries, the sauce was perfect, the churros came out hot, nice crunch to them, and the flavor was great. Overall, a great place to have dinner. The restaurant has plenty of seating. We go all around the bay area and I believe prices are pretty high for drinks, soups, salads, and desserts. We didn't have any Italian food but looking at the menu, they could be just a tad high as well. Our waiter Jacob did a great job.

Review is for the London Bus Burger, Louie Louie (soft-shelled crab) and onion rings! The Bureau 510 gets their burgers right: lightly seasoned, not overly handled so you can feel the wonderful texture along with some major juiciness. Also a big plus is their meat-to-bun ratio so you get a nice bite of burger with the sturdy yet soft bun. The Louie Louie looked amazing. My 2 friends ordered that and devoured. It was lightly battered, not greasy and a nice size. Onion rings were house-made and equally light with a beer batter. Delicious! Staff very welcoming, friendly and checked on us a couple of times.
