My two daughters (ages 4 and 7 now) have been coming to Dr. Mobasher at Alameda Pediatric Dentistry in Oakland for 4 years, and I cannot recommend her enough. She and her entire staff are incredibly kind and supportive; they all have such a loving way of talking to children that puts both the kids and the parents completely at ease. Beyond the wonderful bedside manner of the whole team, Dr. Mobasher is a sharp and proactive clinician. I really trust her judgment--she referred my older daughter to a specialist at the very first sign that something might be off, which I so appreciated. Very disappointing experience with the front desk staff. They were unfriendly, unwelcoming, and showed little respect for patients. We were turned away for being late, yet the office routinely keeps patients waiting for extended periods without concern for their time. Respect should go both ways. read more

My daughter just got her braces removed today and they gave her a little gift bag of all the foods she was forbidden to eat while the braces were on. It was a sweet touch and the overall experience was vey positive- the dentists and orthodontists are terrific, the assistants and receptionists are very kind, and the office is well run and feels good to be in. read more

This team is really exceptional. They specialize in working with kids who have special needs and sensitivities, and I really couldn't be more grateful. They also have a fancy laser tool that enables them to remove cavities / put in fillings without any injections or numbing whatsoever -- which was a gamechanger. I cannot sing enough praises for the care team! My family has been visiting for two years now and the team at Alameda Pediatric Dentistry always make the experience fun, easy and something the kids actually look forward to! Extremely clean facility with all the new technology and TVs at each chair giving your child the excitement of picking their own show during the visit. My youngest continues to be nervous during the visits and the care team is so calm and patient and never pushes. Been coming to this office since my son was under 1. The staff and dentists here are awesome. The facility is really nice and each area has tv screens to keep the kids entertained during the visit. My kids do not fear the dentist (thankfully) and actually like coming to see the dentist. They enjoy the reception area tree house play structure and toys also. We usually see Dr. Michael Wahl and specifically chose Alameda Pediatric Dentistry to see him, since he went to dental school with my close friend. He's fantastic and we love him. He is very knowledgeable and his bedside manner is excellent. We have also gone to the Pleasanton office to see Dr. Wahl. The Oakland office is closest to our home and I'm so happy they have Saturday appointments and can accommodate both kids side by side which makes things easier for this tired mama. Probably the best dental office I've taken my daughter to. One time I had an insurance change due to my work so I couldn't take my daughter here for 1 year which really sucked. Friendly staff, good size office, they dedicated this office entirely to kids with the details. Each bed has a screen tv on the ceiling so that when they lie down they can watch their favorite show. Overall, I will try to bring my daughter here for as long as she's still a kid. read more

Dr Sun was amazing, but this business will bait and switch you around insurance. Was told we were in network for guardian before pretty extensive procedures. Paid like $200 day of and they said it should be considered done. Wake up 6months later of no contact and a letter saying they are sending me to collections for another $600 unpaid. After more than two weeks of calling billing department every day and every day saying let us call you back, they finally admitted actually they are not in network for guardian. To make things worse, turned out the actual amount I still owed was actually less than what they were even threatening for collections. Don't support shady businesses that will pretend to take your insurance and then threaten collections read more

Was a great dental experience for my kid...and we were about to make an appointment for the younger, but they recently severed all insurance carrier relationships, and now want to make it my responsibility to pay them, and then seek reimbursement from my insurer as an 'out of network service. Insurance billing and collections isn't what I want to do with my spare time and it feels like they are putting their administrative interests and revenue above their patients, so I guess we're in the market for a new dentist. read more

It fid warm my kid up to dentist visit but the lack of consistency on the dentist side resulted in us moving to a family practice after. So its a gorgeous office, people are super nice, Spanish speaking, very clean office. The problem is the billing department. Had many issues with getting charged multiple times even after paying.... The problem now is that apparently they changed their insurances to no long accept ours after the new year and forgot to inform us, both in the mail and also when we arrived for our visit. This resulted in a rather expensive dentist visit that could have been avoided. I guess we have to find a new dentist, which is too bad. read more

My 21 year old son is autistic and very very nervous about the dentist. Alice and Jojo were amazingly patient and coaxed him to lie down, let them clean and floss and EVEN do a panoramic xray. I thought there was no way he would sit for that, but they got him to do it. They have worked with us over several years now to get our son comfortable, even having him just come in once a month or so to say hello, sit in the chair, and open his mouth. When we first started coming, he would not even go in the little room - they had to look at his teeth out in the main area with a movie, bubbles, dancing, all kinds of fun distractions. They've been my kids dentist for years but now that their greed has taken over - dropped delta dental which means we pay more for the same services! Anytime you move to out of network the costs are passed to us. I only found out after I received a text stating my kids appts that were booked 6 mths ago was cancelled!
