Made an appointment about a month in advance for our first visit. We were scheduled for 1130. The day before the appointment we got a reminder call and were asked if we could come in at 12 instead. We arrived 20 minutes early and wanted to use the bathroom but could not (because someone was under sedation and I guess the bathroom is past/near the treatment room). At 12:20, 20 minutes late-I asked how long it would be and was told 10 more minutes! At 12:45, we walked out. We never even saw the dentist and there were two other people in the waiting room. I think they overbooked and it was very poor Customer Service -nobody told us how much longer it would be until I asked. Really bad first impression and I won't be going back to find out how the dentist is. No designated parking just street parking at meters. read more

Long story short, I highly recommend seeing a different dentist: My three year old had to get fillings and silver caps on her two front teeth; a week later the caps fell off and her teeth look horrid underneath. When Dentist put the caps back on, he set them crooked, and blamed the mistake on her for not listening to him to sit still (my THREE year old). Now, recently she has been complaining about ALL the same teeth hurting; we went to a different dentist for a second opinion; come to find out the silver caps are ALL falling out and the previous cavities have deepened. After building a great rapport, the communication with Dr. Wong is great. I can contact the office via email and text and not just by phone. I feel that my kids are in good hands. The whole experience was very positive and everyone was extremely patient with her and explained everything they were going to do and made the experience fun. I take my 3 kids here and they love Dr. Wong and the staff. I've been to other dentists where they pressure you to get services that aren't really necessary or push general anesthesia when sedation would be adequate. I am really uncomfortable with the idea of my kids going under, so I was relieved that Happy Tooth offered sedation when my kids needed tooth repairs. Dr. Wong really cares about his patients and when my son was done with his treatment and still a bit drowsy, he came out to make sure my son and I made it to the car okay. When I was there, another mom came in with her two kids, and it turned out that she came on the wrong day for her kids' appointments. Instead of sending them off, the staff accommodated them anyways so that the family wouldn't have to come back again another day. They totally didn't have to do that, but knew that the mom had pulled her kids out of school that day just to bring them in. I think this further shows how awesome this place is. I think it's rare to find a dental office where the dentist and staff show such care and integrity, and not try to make extra money off patients that don't know any better. read more

My son Isaac (age 13) and I have had such a great experience with Dr. Wong and Happy Tooth. Dr. Wong is such a pleasant, good natured, and fun person. Isaac loves to see him and talk about school or impress him with his math skills when Dr. Wong challenges him with a math problem while working on his teeth. Dr. Wong is so affirming, kind and encouraging and it was clear to my son that he actually cares about him. And because he likes Dr. Wong, he actually cares about the advice Dr. Wong gives him and tries to do better with flossing or brushing before the next appointment (when he doesn't want to listen to Mom, that's a big bonus). Absolutely horrible experience - trauma inducing for both the parents and child. Our 5 year old was visiting today to get fillings done and one tooth extracted. First of all, the staff who was giving the sedative oral didn't seem to be experienced handling children scared in the process so they suggested the parents restrained him while they added a mouth prop to keep the mouth open so they could force the sedative down his throat with a syringe. He was crying for an hour. Secondly as my child finally managed to drink around 10% of the sedative they suggested it was time to move him in to get his xray and procedure done. He was feeling drowsy and as I was about to follow him in, they told me I was not allowed to join, not even for the xray, as a part of their 'policy'. They took him behind closed doors and came out and said he was finally relaxing but they had to restrain him to a 'papoose board' to take xrays and give the remaining amount of sedative. Who knows how they were treating him back there behind closed doors. Thirdly when my child came out with his fillings done and one tooth extracted, the dentist informed me his front tooth also fell out in the process 'as they moved the mouth prop around'. Mind you this child is 5 and none of his teeth were loose coming in. Furthermore, when i asked if he could at least have this tooth and bring it home for the tooth fairy the dentist said he had already thrown it out. My recommendation to all parents out there is to avoid this place at all costs. read more
