I do my best to come on Tuesdays (alone) or when we get coupons in the mail (as a couple) since movie prices have become a bit outrageous. The seats are comfy and the service is excellent. Honestly for the price of the ticket and food, I've definitely been to better and more comfortable theaters. It might have been because the movie was three hours long, but I was pretty uncomfortable the whole time. The boozy shake was actually really good, but the food itself was just okay. If I came back, I'd probably eat beforehand and just enjoy the drinks during the movie. read more

Had a pretty good time at the Alamo. We came on a Tuesday when they do a $7 unlimited movie offer (a ridiculous deal in this day and age, but they probably make all of that back with their food and drinks). Didn't run into any of the service issues in other reviews. One guy in particular was super friendly and came by to check if we wanted to order anything. Food and drinks came out very quickly. It made me laugh to see the popcorn being handed out in giant metal serving bowls. We ordered just a box of sour patch kids and a cookie milkshake - the prices seem a little steep for what you get but the soda and some of the popcorn are bottomless. They also do validated parking in one of the nearby garages - $12 for 4 hours - if you don't feel like looping through the streets for one of the 2-hour meters. Only nit is I would have appreciated more recline in my seat - as it were, it seemed to stop midway with the footrest not all the way up, but still comfier than your average movie theater seats. Would definitely come back to take advantage of the Tuesday deal. read more

Visited Boston this past weekend and decided to try this theater since I was staying nearby and had heard good things. The experience started off nice, but about an hour and a half into the movie I saw a mouse run across the stairs a couple rows in front of me, which completely ruined it. Definitely not something you expect in a movie theater, and because of that I won't be returning. read more

Really cool experience. Theater was clean and comfortable. I do wish the chairs reclined just a little further but that's a minor thing. Service at the seats was great and didn't interfere with the movie. I loved being able to get refills without getting up!!! Price for the tickets is very reasonable. Food and drinks are about what I would expect at a movie theater so while dinner and a movie was expensive, it wasn't outrageous and about on par with an average evening out for us. My only actual complaint is that we got there a bit early but their bar was closed so we had to go to a different establishment nearby to have a drink and kill some time. Why have a bar with seating at it if it's going to close 4 hours before the theater does?? read more

Not sure why others didn't give a great review,,??!! Love this place! Never been to an Alamo quite like this one. When I lived in Northern VA that I went to but it's location isn't as integrated with nice restaurants and definitely didn't have the nice bar/restaurant and foyer that dramatically displays an imposing figure as you go up the escalator! My daughter and I were there to watch "How to Train your Dragon". Theatre 9 was huge with all tiers of seats clear view to the giant screen. The. We were able to seat ourselves 30 me it's before screening, the pre-shows were original and entertaining (visualize animated dinosaurs dancing to Latino music). There were large comfortable heated seats where you can choose the heat level. Each had a tray which has menu and drink list tucked away, a pen and note paper where you write your menu selection and a button for you to press for wait staff to come to read your order. We ordered popcorn with churros. Other variations were savory and sounded delicious , something for me to go back to, to try them all! The order came out quickly and it was really great with generous churro crumbles! And what's great? For $13, it's free refills!! read more

First time at this Alamo cinema in Seaport! Nice theater, has 10 screens with good capacity in each one - was 94 seats in theater 7 that we were in. Also has dine-in service inside with menus at your seats and they come take your order and bring you food to your seats. Although we ate before coming so didn't use the service. Watched Sonic the hedgehog 3 movie here. Comfortable seats with recliners. Good screen size, visuals and sound quality. The theater has an outer bar/restaurant area as well and they normally serve food there too but today likely being a semi holiday for Christmas Eve didn't have that. The decor is very nice, cool art on the walls, movie posters. A giant replica of the Iron giant is at the head of the escalators looks great when you walk in! Fun to check it out! Had a blast at this theater!! We went to watch party for Pride and Prejudice. They had a great selection of freebees and loved the atmosphere. Service here is a mess. Recently they have you order using a QR code at the seat. But then after you submit the order and are charged, the employee won't be able to find your order. You'll wait 30 minutes without your food and when they finally bring it you'll be overcharged for food you may or may not have actually received. It's a shame. We really used to enjoy coming but this tremendously takes away from the experience. read more

First, I am a huge fan of Alamo Drafthouse, specifically the Seaport location in Boston. The staff are FANTASTIC, always friendly and professional and I always enjoy chatting with them. However, the recent implementation of a mobile-ONLY ordering system (including during the movies) has been disastrous, and a terrible, short-sighted decision by Alamo Drafthouse corporate. Staffing has been cut, meaning that workers are starting to struggle, and the QR code system is cumbersome and full of glitches. Plus people are now taking out their phones and using them DURING THE MOVIE which is totally at odds with what made the Alamo experience in the first place. I'm ready to cancel my season pass if the company doesn't change course on this recent, boneheaded move. read more

Personally I did not have a good experience here but I know others who did have good experiences! Went here to see challengers, and the theater it was playing in had really scratched up seats on the seat bottom and back and dirty seats. There was a bunch of popcorn and other food remnants in our seats and on the floor from whoever sat there for the previous movie. Food was typical for theater food, really liked the truffle popcorn though! read more

Had never been to this theater but figured it was nice because I work near the Seaport and was familiar with the building it was in. It also houses Kings bowling and a couple other cool places, kind of a cool hang out for adults in Boston. We decided on a whim to buy tickets at 6:51pm for a 7:00pm movie. I didn't think it was a big deal, because I generally don't mind skipping the previews and can usually still follow along even if I miss the start of a film. Big mistake as we obviously didn't get to the theater in 9 min. The employee nicely told us he couldn't let us in as the film had already begun. I would've gladly stayed and watched a later film, except the movie we wanted to watch was not playing again that night. He offered me coupons for a future movie and showed me the small print on the wall that there was a strict no late policy and also no refunds. I turned the coupon around and it expired at the end of December. We are already halfway into August, and I am not much of an on-time person and just can't see myself falling for this scam again only to miss another movie anytime soon. Had it been for perhaps a year, I would've kept them for myself. I gave my "free" tickets to customers behind us in line. Understandably, yes I was late. Not sure why their website would allow me to buy tickets so close to showtime. I work in transportation and our company website will not even allow you to purchase tickets too close to departure time, as it just leads to frustration and disappointment for passengers who miss their ride. I was driving and obviously did not notice the late policy. It almost feels like a scam really, like they prey on people like me who don't read all the rules. In my opinion, these last minute purchases should be blocked and only for purchase in-person at the theatre. I could've theoretically purchased those tickets while outside on Seaport Blvd and still not been seated inside the theatre by 7:00pm, just saying. I do respect the rule, as I also dislike late people disturbing a movie, but a little more of an alert or warning during the purchase process would've been appreciated. We went to see the movie Twister . Walking in you just take the elevator up . You are greeted with a friendly salutation as you enter . The ambiance is very friendly and welcoming . The parking is tough but we found meter parking close . I ordered a burger . It came with fries and it was delicious . The price was reasonable. The food tasted fresh as well . My husband ordered the chicken wings he said they were great . The price is not bad . To drink we ordered a Diet Coke & Coke this had unlimited refills . For dessert we split a strawberry milkshake it was delicious. I really enjoyed my experience here . I hope you do as well ! read more

The good: This place is definitely more geared towards movie lovers. The pre show videos are highly entertaining, the food & drink options is better than any theatre I have been too & often include some sort of movie theme adding a fun twist. The hallways are unique & play homage to the press room it used to be in another life. Most theatres have a problem with talking patrons or people looking at their phone but their zero tolerance policy works. The sound was out of this world good for a digital theatre. The seats also recline & are heated. The bad: the Iron Giant takes place in Maine, surely they could have come up with a Boston centric movie plot for the lobby. The seats are certainly not new. Does that affect the comfort? No, not really but it doesn't look the best for a new theatre. There are waiters that walk around taking silent order & delivering food & drinks. This could also be a good thing depending on what you want. The screen is pretty standard but could be better. Lastly, The Seaport is probably the worst place in Boston I could think of for a movie theatre but I hope it works out for them. This is a place for you if you want the movie you're seeing to be more like an event & fun time. read more

Always a fun time to watch a movie at the Alamo! Surprisingly the ticket was only $14, much cheaper than amc. Food is kinda expensive though, but it's unlimited popcorn. I got the spicy ranch and the bowl was huge. It was way too salty though and the popcorn was a bit stale. Mozzarella sticks were okay, kinda cold. Weak cheese pull. They don't give enough sauce either. The first time I came to the Alamo I had the dry rub lemon pepper chicken tenders and those were great. Really tasty. Service is hit or miss. For the tenders, I asked for more ranch twice, but it never came. My partner had to ask himself and it finally came a long time later. On my second visit, I ordered lemon pepper chicken tenders again but they gave me chili garlic instead. read more

My expectations for this place were pretty high thanks to Alamo Drafthouaes rep and the relative new building the theatre is in. Getting to thr theatre is confusing because it's up three levels through the front of a couple restaurants on the way. The I got to the theatre seats were all really tattered (see pic), and don't recline that far back . The tray tables also make things a little Claustrophobic While I appreciate decent food, eating in a darkened theatre is very difficult and potentially messy. And the servers walking around are distracting. Chicken tenders and fries were good though. I was in a Tuesday evening show with maybe 10 people - I can't imagine how chaotic it would be with a full house. My expectations for this theater were set pretty high thanks to Showplace Icon (the theater before) but admittedly, I was not impressed. Regardless, I will still be back because for me the pros outweigh the cons. Pros: super friendly staff (a little bit of water feel onto our friend's popcorn and they brought out a new one), good food and drinks (a couple vegan options too), and interesting showings Cons: the theater was not as clean as I expected (understand may be short on staff and it was late), the bathroom was a complete mess (they share the bathroom with Grace by Nia, so lots of foot traffic), seats don't recline and seemed really tattered (see pic), and while I appreciate the servers walking around to say last call-it was distracting. I want to come back during the day to give this place another shot. The vibes are cool and everyone was so friendly. Owners should consider getting upgraded chairs to really enhance the experience. read more

Went here last night for the advanced screening of Back to Black, the Amy Winehouse biopic. It was a fantastic show and they even hooked us up with free popcorn and drinks as well as a special private performance by amazing vocalist, Nicole Michelle. The servers were attentive and friendly and really made our experience very special. I had some fried pickle spears as a snack as well as an espresso martini and ranch water. The waiters do a fantastic job of helping patrons put in their orders without disturbing the other moviegoers. In terms of the actual theater itself, I like how the reclining seats are far enough apart that you don't have to worry about people behind you accidentally kicking you or vice versa. I like the vintage movie posters that line the walls as well as the full service bar by the entrance. Overall, I would definitely come to see a movie here again! read more

A painful but necessary review. I love the Alamo brand, but the experience at the Seaport location is slowly strangling the joy out of theater-going. The film programming is good, clean cinephile phun. Usually engaging pre-roll (they don't do previews) but it varies studio to indie release. And for preview events, there's typically swag or a spooky photo op (looking at you, The Front Room). Seating is comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. I'm a fan of bottomless buttered popcorn and soda options, the customer cocktail menus for buzzy releases, and the chicken tendies with hatch chile gravy... if they still existed. And thus, the notable decline of the Alamo. The service - both the model and practice - have tanked. The founding enthusiasm of the in-theater servers has been replaced by ennui and (sorry) incompetence. Promos aren't applied to checks, ordering via at-seat button pushing is ignored or met with prolonged delay (avg. 5 mins) making the idea of free refills for popcorn and soft drinks a pipe dream, items are brought to the wrong seats and the pleasantly rigorous code of conduct has guests not wanting to call out to the servers for their misplaced meals. The stress of the stress-free aspect of dinner with a movie dampens the movie-watching experience. Possibly due to poor service, or as an indicator of this location throwing in the towel, the food quality has plummeted. The aforementioned tendies no longer come with that bomb ass hatch chile grave (although the berbere dry rub is a nice addition); however, the meal has gone from three plump tenders to two, the fries are halved and the ranch dipper is literally a tablespoon. I got two dunks before i was scraping with 70% of my chicken left. Wife got cold popcorn and her glass of wine was an abysmal pour - not even 3oz. The skimp is strong. And yet... The pricing! Stayed the same even with portion cut by a third, and now there is a 20% complete nondescript "PCE fee" added to the food bill. This service charge is not announced nor defined anywhere, and so it's unclear who is receiving it. Does it go towards servers as fair wage, thereby offsetting expected gratuities? Does it just go to the house, and as such the included pre-built tip amounts on the bill are separate and dedicated to the servers? Nobody knows. Like a lot of other stuff at the Alamo, nobody seems to know. Hate to say it, but based on the graveyard energy from my last few experiences, I give it 6 months before they shutter this locale. 1 star. I have been here tons of times but this time had a rude waitress. My sister and I ordered tickets at the front desk for fantastic 4 at 6pm 8/22/25 theater 9. When we got to our seats the waitress came up to us and said, "you know you guys are late right?" even though the previews weren't even over. We apologized and said we were ready to order (because we just wanted popcorn) and she literally said "ya no" and then walked away...not sure what that is about but we wrote our order on a piece of paper and then pressed the button to input(previews still weren't over lol) She came back to take the paper but we were actually rlly confused with her attitude. It was an older lady not sure if she's going through menopause or what her deal was. We ended up getting $80 worth of food and not a single dollar went towards her tip. Never had a waitress with this behavior at the Alamo. The Bussers and front desk are rlly sweet and popcorn/food is good but that rlly killed the vibe. Sad. Should train her properly read more

Fun day out at the movies in Boston's seaport. Matinee was reasonable at $11 for reserved seating. Adjustable Seats were super comfy with table-side waitress service. We had tasty burgers and chicken for lunch with warm chocolate cookies for snack. The building has bowling and darts so plenty to do to make a day of it. Shopping Or restaurants steps away. Both my experiences here have been good, with friendly staff, decent food, and best of all, heated seats. Unfortunately the last time I was here I received a false charge on my credit card the day afterwards. I have called at least 8 times trying to get this issue resolved over the past 2 months. Every single time I speak to someone, they are friendly, take down my information, but tell me the managers are in a meeting and they will get back to me. The managers have never gotten back to me. How many meetings can there possibly be?? The most recent time, the front desk called back saying they got in touch with a manager and I should be receiving a refund. 2 weeks later, still no refund. I even went in person, they said the managers were not in to look into the issue. I asked for a receipt from my transaction so I could at least dispute it with my credit card company, and they said they did not have access to this. Either upper management is completely incompetent, unorganized, or just running a scam. read more

I've been to the Alamo Drafthouse in LA multiple times with great experiences, so I expected the same from this location. Sadly I was mistaken. Here's what went wrong (it's a pretty long list). 1) Our movie started at 830, and the ticket said we could arrive at 8 to be seated and order food before the movie. No one was allowed into the theater until 815. 2) The waiter didn't come to our seat until 825. 3) At 845, we finally got our drinks. We'd also ordered chicken tenders and fries, which didn't show up. Every other person in the theater got their food. We never were going to get ours. 4) We had to ask three different times, and two different people, to finally get our food. We didn't get it until 915. If we hadn't kept asking, it never would have come. FYI, we could have skipped the food altogether. It tasted terrible. 5) We got charged for popcorn that we never ordered. There wasn't even anyone to talk to in order to rectify this. It was from a different person in our party who used a different credit card for his order (we never even ate his popcorn) so he had to Venmo me. 6) After we got our food, two different waiters came to our seats trying to drop off food and drinks we didn't order. This happened almost 20 minutes after getting our food and again with like 20 minutes left in the movie. Why?? 7) The sound was pretty lacking. It definitely was not as loud as it should be or as surround as it could be. The one in Los Angeles is much better. The only good part about this theater is the heated seats. I asked to try a hard cider before ordering- the sample was a heavy pour - not a tiny sip. Bar bites food was average- nothing memorable other than the popcorn. Loved the movies, but hated the mice. I was a season pass holder for about 8 months and saw a ton of great movies - classics, childhood favorites, and new releases. I loved taking friends and my family because the service, food, and drinks were great. The servers were always nice, and they were especially sweet to my kids. But signs of rodents were clear in the facility, and eventually the mice showed up under my feet during a show. I registered a concern in person and via the app. I got a response, but the two weeks it took to get that response and the ongoing signs of infestation in the theater (holes where the floor meets the giant column next to the kitchen) made me lose confidence that management would get it under control. I didn't want to bring guests and have mice run under their feet - or spoil their food. Instead of continuing my Alamo pass, I'll go with AMC and the Brattle. read more

Very nice theatre with all the features you should expect from an Alamo - good food, drinks, cool movies (new and old), special intros to movies based on director. I saw The Zone of Interest (2023) and it featured all the music videos the director filmed prior. I had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, chips w queso and vegan chocolate chip cookies. Id probably get a different main meal (burger or pizza?) but rest were good. Will be back forsure. read more

I saw mean girls movie musical here. I attended the "sing a long movie party" and was surprised that the event included little gifts! Nobody sang along (thankfully) but the vibes were good. I got the raspberry cocktail which was delicious and the Margherita pizza which was okay. The service to our seats was a rocky. I don't think the service button on my boyfriend's seat was working, we waited almost 30 minutes for our order card to be picked up. The waiter only came when the button on my seat was pressed. Prices are reasonable but unfortunately, my button didn't work so well so took me awhile to get the order I want and the refill on my popcorn.
