    This was so good!

Visited from CA. Requested a good view and they gave us exactly that! Not to mention we were late due to airport traffic. Right in the center and LOVED the show. So cute for sure! Tried my very first espresso martini :) The food was good. My husband ordered med well and it was very well made, little dry. My pasta was pretty good!

Cannot recommend the kids pizza class highly enough. My 6 year old niece had SO much fun and her pizza was delicious. Chef was wonderful with her ... even after she dropped her dough on the floor walking to the oven. Within seconds they had a brand new one on her board ready to be finished. Perfect experience for kids 4 - 10. Full menu available for parents. Aunties too.

Wow! What a great evening which exceeded expectations. First, Natalya was a great help in getting us booked and arranging for a beautiful and delicious birthday cake . Amazing . We went with vanilla cake with lemon curd and cream cheese frosting . It was perfect and a last minute order . I wish I took pictures of the other food because everyone was happy and creative departures from the traditional preparations .. I had the scallops saltimboca which were perfect- they were wrapped in prosciutto - crispy on the outside and luscious on the inside served over pistachio pesto and cauliflower purée. I can't wait to order again . Others had the veal Milanese which is an amazing preparation of bone in veal chop . Again, they can't wait to go back . Others had chicken piccata - delicious and generous portion . The fig appetizer looked fabulous and they sopped up every last drop of sauce with the terrify garlic bread . Everyone was happy! The entertainment, Richie Dimare and company were fun and talented . People were dancing and enjoying the show . They really make the evening special . And, Sophia did an outstanding job with her service . We were a large group of 12 which is not always easy . She made us feel valued. All if the staff were professional and supportive . I can't wait to go back with other friends . The setting, the food, the entertainment and staff were all wonderful .

One of my favorite places in Southie! I've always heard of the "Capo Basement" and i'm so lucky to have scored a table here before the line started outside for the night. The atmosphere is just jaw dropping & the live music is so fun! Cannot wait for next time!

Ribs perfect, glad they were meaty pieces and not scrawny bones. Entrees: (and yes I tried all!) I am a steak fiend and was expecting more from the pallet but it was just eh OK. Salmon was dry and bland wish it was paired with a sauce and side dish but it was a big portion of just rice and fish. The BEST dish was the creole pasta and the two piece. I was not expecting that two piece to be the entire fowl! It was huge and tasty, not dry, biscuit was sweet and moist ! But the entrees are a good portion ! Ambience: Chic music lounge. Atmosphere is nice. It's a small/tight place, the pictures make it look bigger. We were a party of 6, sat at a booth. So some will have their back towards the stage but there's a tv screen of live view. Service: waitress was nice/attentive until it got later. Then it was harder to get someone to our table. the place turned more into a full lounge. Singer/band: perfect Drinks- kudos to the bar tenders: just right! Mixed well! Gratuity and an entertainment fee are included in the bill. Would I go back- YES

After our night out, we all had mixed feelings about our experience. The interior is beautiful. It's classy and fun setting the scene for a nice vibe. service was nice but slow, we needed to flag down our waiter a couple times so we could order food. Some of the things we ordered were the fried catfish nuggets, braised oxtails, Mac and cheese and steak frites. Fried catfish bites were okay, the oxtail dish was tender but too sweet, Mac and cheese was standard and the steak was dry. I never mind paying top dollar for amazing dishes but these weren't it for us. Drinks were good though and the music was great. I'd suggest coming just to listen to a great live band and a nightcap.

All of our guests raved about how great they were. They play both traditional jazz music and a mix of some popular jazz & Latin hits (Frank Sinatra, etc). If you're looking for Sir Mixalot and some Rihanna, you'll have to look elsewhere because these guys have class! First off, Bob was incredibly great to work with. I probably only sent 2-3 emails and a couple phone calls at most about a year out, and a week before the wedding - just indicating what songs we wanted and to confirm some deposits and details. We are pretty much "roll with it" people and gave them the reigns on this one, they showed up and played exactly what we had hoped for. They had a flute and keyboard for our outdoor ceremony with lovely classical music and were perfectly on cue. They even took a lot of requests for songs from our guests during the reception (except for Portuguese music, haha! What did you expect, Auntie-in-law??). Our guests were certainly up and dancing all evening. Also, they didn't have a song in their repertoire (we chose a Chuck Berry song for our first dance) and they actually learned it for us! Lastly, the price was very exceptionally reasonable for the quality, their presentation and their talent. Why need a DJ when you can get such sophistication from live musicians? Highly, highly recommend for your wedding. Thanks, Bob Sabourin & Jazz in the Air!!

The show was…read morefantastic; Emmett, his bass player and percussionist are top-notch jazz performers and anyone who likes jazz should rush to see them whenever they are in town. No photos since they announced "no photography" at the beginning of the show. I only saw one server working the lower level, and we had been seated for about 10 minutes before we even saw her, so we were concerned. That said, once she took our order for drinks they came pretty quickly I've been to Scullers many, MANY times and because there are so few jazz places in Boston I consider myself a regular. That said, as others have noted, there are a lot of tables packed together closely, and for me the best seats are on the left side of the room and near the stage where there is less crowding. The upper level of the room only works if you are in the front row of tables as those behind will likely have someone blocking the view of the stage. The seats at the very back of the room are high tables and better for viewing the stage, but you are at the mercy of fellow patrons if they are prone to chat instead of watching the show.

Food service is offered for the entirety of the shows, so just as your favorite band is hitting stride near the end of their last set, large platters of French fries and steaming salmon entrees are still making their way through the concert hall (there is nothing like the smell of a fried fishy dinner being consumed at a dark cafe table on both sides of your table). The kitchen door swings open constantly to accommodate food delivery: the fluorescent light that strobes the mezzanine is Walmart parking lot bright. The drinks menu is uninspired, and in these days where alcohol free cocktails/beverages are often requested, Sculler's offers only Michelob (that's right, Michelob) Ultra Zero. This particular Hilton Doubletree has historically (going back 20 years) struggled with its parking system, their exit scanner often does not work, an attendant has to be called and the line backs up to the third level. My suggestion: get rid of pay for parking, improve your bar menu (charge more for drinks!) and shut down food service during performances out of respect for the performers. The place could also use a house band that can open for the main act and perform on off nightS (hello Berklee College of Music). In summary: YOU NEED A BETTER MANAGER. On a positive note, the waitstaff could not be nicer.

She sang standards and original compositions, and the vibe of the evening was warm as she interspersed her set with acknowledgements to her Cambridge family and friends in attendance, and the city where she grew up. There are few jazz clubs in the Boston area so I will always return to the Regattabar if there is someone playing I want to see. I find it a cozy environment although there are a couple of structural pillars that create obstructed viewing that aren't acknowledged upon ticket purchase. While comedy often involves pushing boundaries, the humor felt one-sided and dismissive of a faith that is deeply important to many people. What stood out to us was the apparent double standard. It seemed unlikely that the performers would make similarly critical jokes about certain other groups or belief systems without concern for offending the audience. As a result, the show came across less as lighthearted comedy and more as an effort to promote a particular viewpoint. We understand that not everyone shares the same beliefs, and we respect differing perspectives. However, we would have appreciated a more balanced and inclusive approach that did not single out Christianity for ridicule.
