I've been to many other dine in movie theaters and our first time here was very mid. First of all the churro popcorn was dry with little to no butter. Was not good popcorn for being a movie theater. The seats I found uncomfortable and I didn't like that the tables couldn't be moved right in front of you so you have to hold your food in your lap or risk it falling on it. Service was pretty quick. Drinks were the best part of it. Both of us did not think the food was very good, I got the Cobb salad and asked for no bacon but it still had bacon crumbles but didn't include the avocado it said it would have. read more

In theory this theater sounds like a great idea- adults only, dine and watch a movie, however there were a few aspects that didn't meet my expectations. The reservation process ahead of time was very easy online- lots of movie options with many times available. Upon arrival to the theater, we sat down and were immediately greeted by servers to take our order. The food came out relatively fast, and the process to order more food seemed seamless. However, I thought the food was not very good. I was disappointed with my spicy buffalo pizza. It seemed overcooked, so the sauce, cheese, and chicken were all so dry. I didn't taste any of the creamy buffalo sauce that was listed on the menu. Additionally, while the seats were large and roomy, there was no option to recline like many other theaters I have been to. Came for the Batman premier. It was crazy busy!! Which I did enjoy as it felt a return to normalcy. The staff while I'm sure overwhelmed from the premier did a great job. We liked our in theater server. I'm Happy they didn't bother us much during the show. The food was just okay and I'd didn't care for My drink but the picture was great and the seats were comfy. Sigh, I feel bad giving only two stars with how the economy is... short staff and Covid.. but with my family being business owners, I also know some things don't get an excuse. For example, forgetting orders, not cleaning bathrooms, listening to rap musics with cuss words in front of customers. The most recent review reflect the same experience my family had. The alamo use to be the happenin place! The movie theater you wanted to go to, but my family of 6 was so disappointed the other night that we won't be back. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and drinks! The bathrooms were an absolute disaster (both men and women's), see pictures to understand, the staff was dancing in the kitchen and listening to rap music loud enough for you to hear when walking out of your theater. Don't get me wrong I'm all for having fun while working as long as the job is getting done. But the conditions of this facility were so bad that I couldn't believe my eyes. We went for a birthday celebration and we're let down. I hope management reads this and understands changes need to occur to stay in business. read more

This is one of my fav movie theaters. Food and drink service while you watch a movie? Sign me up! It's nice to have a plentiful menu of food and drinks to choose from at your seat. Service has always been prompt and correct. And bonus, it includes adult beverages too. The prices are on the high side for what you get. But that's, honestly, typical of every movie theater. We have only been to two movie theaters in town, and this is probably my favorite. We have tried their queso, pizzas, popcorn, and everything has always tasted great. They have a decent beer selection on tap, and they make some neat drinks to match their movies/menus. The service has been hit or miss a couple times, but for the most part it's gone smoothly. The one time we had a really bad experience the manager definitely redeem themselves by hooking us up with free tickets for our next visit. The restrooms are always clean and fully stocked. Employees working the front desk have always been very nice as well. Only thing I think that would make the seating better would be for them to have recliners that prop your feet up. The first few times we visited this location I loved it. We had one bad experience, but I will admit my wife did a survey when prompted, and the manager took care of us our next time. They were low staffed I believe the day we stopped on the bad experience and took forever to get our food and drinks. The manager contacted my wife and proceeded free movie tickets to make up for it. The couple other times we have gone have been great. They have good food, and the prices aren't too terrible for a movie theater. I agree with my wife that recliners to prop your feet up would be perfect. read more

Always enjoy a movie at the Alamo - seriously appreciate their serious movie viewing rules about cell phones-thanks for that! I always enjoy the option of table service during a movie as well - it's the only way I can watch scary movies these days (while being served drinks.) The beer/cocktail selection is on point & milkshakes are so good they make me consume more calories that I care to admit. The only issue I've come across the few times I've been here is that my group always has something delivered to us that we didn't order. Not sure if it's due to new staff or if it's so dark they get the rows mixed up, but it's happened on more than on occasion. Other than that, we'll 100% be back! read more

Our waiter was cordial but only came back for the last call. Therefore, we never got a popcorn refill and were left for ONE HOUR without water or anything to drink. We would have made more drink purchases but by the time it was last call...it was just too late. Our white paper sat visible and annoyed us the entire time. Another issue was the restroom, it had several stalls that weren't flushed, smelled of urine and paper was all over the floor. Normally, the Alamo is our #1 choice when we head to the movies, especially since several in our party are vegan and we LOVE that there are options for everyone. This time however, there were no cauli wings or avocado toast, which, was also a huge bummer as fake meat is gross. I sincerely hope that my issues about my visit are made known to management and addressed. The Alamo is too nice of an establishment to be ran in such a poor manner. read more

I've come to the taproom many times, this time it was not very good. We came during happy hour when craft 1/2 pints were advertised as $3.00 for any craft beer between 3~6pm. The changed the price of my beer and still overcharged is for the other two. They charged us full price even after I said something about it. Originally my wife ordered a margarita, but it was so strong you could have fueled a blow torch with it. We ordered cheese sticks but never received them. We bought a kids pizza with milk for $10, the menu said the milk was included, we where charged $2.00 for the milk even after I pointed out that what the menu clearly said otherwise. I gave up and paid the bill and tipped 15% anyway. But they probably lost a regular customer over this. When I spend $73.11 at a bar I at least would like to enjoy the food... it was average at best. read more

Movie experience here is only okay. Service is generally very good. Wide selection of food/drink available to order which comes out fast. However, food itself is not very good. I have tried the spicy buffalo pizza and the hellfire burger. I would not recommend either. Pizza was dry. My favorite part about the burger was the pickle spear on the side. If you're going to order something to eat, I would be safe and stick to popcorn or candy. Theatre seats here also do not recline. read more

My wife and I were looking forward to seeing a movie recently. We're dog people, it was a dog movie. I logged into my Alamo Drafthouse account in the morning and bought tickets for the movie later that evening. After I selected the seats, the website gave me the chance to buy food and refreshments. I thought what a great idea. I proceeded to order two drinks, popcorn, M&Ms, and chips and Queso for my wife. It also had it so you could prepay the tip which I did, 20%. I entered my debit card and payed for it. I promptly received a confirmation email with my digital tickets and receipt. I thought nice, we will get there and our snack will already be ordered. I imagined we would take our seats, somebody would ask to see the receipt, and they would get our food. At least that is what I imagined. What really happened was we got there. Sat in our seats for 30 minutes while orders were taken all around us. The waiter seemed to be avoiding us, it was odd. As all the food began arriving for all the other customers I flagged down a food runner and asked if he knew where our snacks were and that we had ordered them online. He shrugged his shoulders, said, "I don't know." and left. We sat there for another 5 minutes or so before I could flag down another waiter, one with the tablet device, and asked her if she could see our order in the system, it had been placed online when we bought our tickets. She poked a while at the tablet and said she could not see it but would find someone that could help. I said great, and could she send a manager over when they had a chance. She said she would and headed off. Another 10 minutes goes by. The previews are starting, and a man presumable a manager comes over with what look like two tickets in hand. He starts by saying he's sorry, there's been a mistake and our food somehow went to the next theater over and the people in that theater had not said anything and were eating our snacks. He said he would get it fixed and here were two ticket vouchers. I tell him I just want my snacks. He said he would have it brought out, and left. Well another 15 minutes goes by, just before the movie starts they have the commercial announcement, "If you need something raise a card." If you've been to the Drafthouse you know the one I am talking about. So I think, Hell, I want to talk to that manager again and find out what the deal is. So I write on a paper, "I would like to speak to the manger, please!" and place it in the holder at the front of the table. So the movie is started now, about 10 minutes in, Still not sign of our snacks. Meanwhile the hot wings and Moscow Mule the guy next to me order 20 minutes after I arrived have been on the guys table and are about gone. The waiter that was avoiding me, and took everyone else's order, sees the card and comes over and reads it. I lean in and whisper can you get me the manager again. He looks at me rather upset, and says, "LET'S GO OUTSIDE AND DISCUSS THIS." I am put back a bit and say oh, okay. As I get up a food runner brings out a glass of Iced Tea from our order. Sets it on the table with a straw and walks away. I follow the waiter out, not knowing what to expect. My wife and I have been there for an hour and 15 minutes. As I exit the theater, the waiter turns around to face me, and points his finger at me. Before he can say anything I see the manger that I spoke to earlier. He is next to the theater door. I tell the waiter, "Never mind, I will talk to this guy." The manager is there with 3 waiters/runners standing around him, we weren't the only order that got messed up. I walk up to him, I say, "I still don't have my order. I thought you were going to fix it?" He just looks at me. I am admittedly a little steamed. I had ordered the stuff at 11:30 AM it was a 7:30 PM movie. He stammers incoherently. I say " Do me a favor, tell the theater manager, your boss, I will meet them at the front ticket counter please. I need a word." I felt like a douche, but I was pissed. So I walk up front and stand by the ticket counter. I notice a person walking across from the bar. She has the ear piece and mike on that all the employees have, but still not sure she works there. Across the room she shouts, " Are you the person that wanted to speak to the manager?" I say, yes. She starts explaining again how our order had gone to the theater next to us and those people had not told them that it was not their order. Like its not the theaters fault. I tell her that I have already been told this and we still did not have our food. I aske why we were still waiting. She got very snarky and started telling the story again. I said I did not want to here it. She said, "if you don't want to listen to me I don't want to listen to you." I said great, how are you fixing this then? I would like a refund. She said well are you going to leave then. I said, "If I have to" She said, YOU DO! My wife and I got kicked out of ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE BECAUSE WE GOT BAD SERVICE! read more

Dear Alamo Drafthouse, I remember my days of cinedines on the east and west coast and when I moved to Omaha I was like there is no way the midwest will catch onto this trending concept and alas my prayers were answered when I had heard news Alamo would not only open one but TWO cinedines in Omaha! Not only are you guys the only cinedines, but you guys play the best of the best currently and bring back the best of the best. Now that most businesses are closed for COVID my love for you all has grown even fonder as I miss going out and relaxing and enjoying over your food/snacks/desserts and watching a great flick on the wide screen. I know streaming services are offered, but it's just not the same. Some of the restaurants I can get take out, but nothing can replace the movie experience you guys have provided for all these years. The saddest part of COVID was Alamo closing. Pick any movie. Be there early. Order popcorn with real butter and Parmesan topping on the side. Wonderful experience! Quick version for those who don't know it: nice, clean, new movie theater that serves food and drink to your seats. Longer version with special mentions: 1. So easy! You can buy tickets online and walk straight to your seat. No need to stop at a ticket taker first. 2. Friendly service! Our server, Keith, was incredibly positive, friendly, welcoming, and of course helpful. He kept checking on us (without distracting us) thoughout the show for refills, etc. 3. Clean! Place was clean, seemed "nice" somehow, and even the carnivore pizza was surprisingly tasty. It was a great family experience and we will definitely be going back. read more

I have been to this location many times and have been happy. Today my family went to watch a movie as it is 97 degrees outside and we thought that would be a great way to relax and stay cool. Nope! Our drinks came out late. My wife never got here iced tea that she ordered and it was hot. My shirt was damp front slowly sweating the entire time. If you have an A/C issue then shut the place down or warm the customers before they sit through a movie in hot room with no air movement. read more

My favorite theater, hands down. Even as a parent, I'm thankful for their no little children rule. I enjoy the no talking/texting atmosphere and the people who come to the shows tend to follow it. I also have rarely been disappointed with the food - often we'll do lunch or dinner. If they had the recliners like other theaters then it would be better. The they don't let you in once the movie starts and will kick you out if your on your phone for a medical emergency. I really enjoyed this theater experience, it was a lot of fun. I really loved the whole presentation. Especially the short vintage clips shown before the movies, they really added to the whole experience and reminded me of going to the movies as a kid, just a few, short years ago :) Five stars were not given because the seats are the old school type and not the recliners. Boo hoo. My legs dangled uncomfortably, so for that reason I will not return. We ordered food and drinks in the restaurant and took the unfinished portion to the theater, keep in mind you have to carry all that stuff by yourselves. Take my advice and try to wait to order your food after sitting down in the theater. I like the idea of just writing down your order, drink and popcorn refills, etc. on a piece of paper and placing in front of your tray for service. No talking necessary or allowed, for that matter. Prompt and friendly service in both places. Yah Another great plus, plus, plus...they will put real, yes real clarified butter on your popcorn if requested! I very much enjoyed our visit to Alamo Drafthouse. The brand new La Vista shopping center it is located at is still growing and acquiring occupants, so it's a bit of a ghost house town there, with Alamo being the main attraction. They obviously show movies, but also host unique movie events like sing a longs and old classics showings. It's also got the same concept as Marcus at Midtown as a cinedine- with a pretty impressive drink and food menu of New American favorites. We went on a Tuesday mid-day, and only paid $5 per ticket to see The Jungle Book. I was able to enjoy loaded fries and a local beer/milkshake combo using a stout and vanilla icecream. They have a connected restaurant and bar if you prefer to eat and drink with the lights on, you can catch the movie either before or after eating. I noticed it was a hot spot for social happy hour around 5pm when we were headed back to the car after the movie. I do wish this was closer to the action downtown and mid-town, but I still think this is a great place to catch a show and enjoy a meal. read more

Today was not Alamo's best day. Let me begin with our lunch in the restaurant prior to our film: my entree was cold, fries and all. The server/bartender was running his legs off until someone from the back came out to help -- it was too late. Dining room was BUSY but he was really trying to cover, though when an employee is literally running, customer service goes by the wayside. I requested a pizza (pepperoni) to replace the cold jerk chicken sandwich and that was superb! Next we went into the theatre to watch our movie and found the theatre cold enough to hang meat in...truth. We kept our coats on (as did our fellow patrons) and mittens. The server stopped by and we said that we had just had lunch so didn't care for anything besides a drink refill. He responded, "Well, at $2.14 an hour, I need a reason to return." I replied, "I'll tip the heck out of you if you can get some heat in this place!" He laughed and made like it was humorous, but we got the message. I called him back and asked for popcorn + butter which I know is the BEST ever: white popcorn, not that awful yellow crap and REAL butter with refills = heaven! He brought it and after an hour and 25 minutes I went our into the hallway to try and find him (for a drink refill). As I returned to the theatre, unable to find him, he had just arrived. Per usual, he showed up right at the very last 15 minutes of the film. This isn't just this particular server, it's a thing at Alamo. I don't know how to tell Alamo Inc. that the last thing I want as the film is ending is a conversation and to look away in order to pay. There needs to be a better system. I really like the Alamo draft house. Its the my wife and I goto date night spot. Roll out to liquid sunshine, get some beers, and then roll into Alamo for dinner and a movie. This location is star wars themed, complete with an imperial throne, and laser firing death star. Alamo has quickly become one of, if not the only theater in town ill go to to see a movie. Between reserved seating, No late admittance, and staunch opposition to movie talkers/movie texters, it makes for a great cinematic experience. Is the person next to you texting up a storm, or making comments at every obvious twist and turn of the film? Raise an order card and management will remove them from your life and return them to their own pitiful movietexting experience elsewhere. A++ Customer service has been great, and anytime theres been any sort of issue, management has rectified it cheerfully and quickly. The food is good, although I cant endorse the burgers. If you don't give me a burger with pink in it, I wont eat it; and when the burgers are boiled at the beginning of the day and then finished on the grille to order, good luck getting anything other than well. If you want a stellar experience with the food, get the hatch green chile mac and cheese, and add an egg and avocado. You can get any of the beers on tap at liquid sunshine in the movie theatres too. read more

My brother-in-law RAVES about the Alamo Drafthouse so I finally gave up and he took me to a movie their a little over a month ago, (Spider-man: Homecoming). I didn't partake in any food or drink while I watched the movie but my bro said it's generally pretty good food. This place is so hyped up. All in all, nothing wow'd me about this place. Sure the decorations are cool and I like that they have digital movie posters that change from movie to movie, but for the movie experience itself, it was good, nothing blew me away. Maybe if I saw a movie in one of their Dolby Atmos theaters, my tune would change but this movie was a regular screening. I would go back for special occasions but I don't see myself going out of my way to see a movie here. read more

This was my first time at this location. I've only been to the two locations in San Antonio. Any other location have big shoes to fill. I can tell that this location is much newer. The chairs are comfortable. Very clean. Cool decor. The staff is great. This visit had some flaws but I'm pretty sure it was a one time thing. We asked for avocado on a burger, we didn't get it. We didn't get charged though. Everyone didn't get the check until the movie was over. When I say over, like the end of the credits. The service has slipped a bit. The servers seem to be getting absent minded. There have been a few times where it's taken a long time for them to get our order (a pizza and soft drinks ) out. And it wasn't like the theater was full, only half full, if that. The last time we were there I asked for a refill on my iced tea and I never got it... again, the theater wasn't crowded. I still enjoy seeing movies here, but when stuff like this happens, it's frustrating. read more

Xavier said that he won't be coming to this establishment anymore because the popcorn is sub par. The popcorn was drowned in butter and apparently made it too soggy. Who the heck doesn't like butter? Dude probably eats like a rabbit which was why it ended up soggy. Not sure why popcorn would be the deciding factor on a theater that serves great food but I guess he only enjoys movies when good popcorn is around. This was my first time at the Alamo cinema. We watched Smile. First off, the movie in and of itself was amazing. So glad the Alamo had it because they do have limited movies screens. Secondly, the food here is great. I wish there was a better way to order, I feel like an electric ordering system would be better, like the digital pads they have at some restaurants instead of using paper and pen. This would be more efficient and allow the servers to make one trip rather then two. There should also be an easier way to get the servers to remove dirty dishes. They drop off and go so quickly that you barely have time to let them know about the dishes. Maybe we're supposed to put down "dishes" on the paper for them to read. Regardless, an electric system would make the experience was better! Please look into it. Even a removable tablet to place at each table would work so you wouldn't have to wire any computer system. read more
