Our United Airlines flight was delayed for several hours due to software issues, so we missed our connecting flight and arrived in Grand Junction over 3 hours later than our car reservation. I called to inform the agency about the delay. Fortunately, Richard was very understanding and willing to wait for us to arrive. When we finally landed and retrieved our luggage it was 12:30am, but he was there to greet us with a smile and hand me the keys to our rental car. Katie assured me she would send a new car to me in Moab and retrieve the SUV. The SUV wasn't equipped with a spare OR A DONUT. Katie said fixing the tire wasn't an option and it would take up to 6 hours for the new vehicle to arrive. In other words, the SUV HAD TO BE TOWED. I came back to the hotel to find the SUV was gone, AND SHE DIDNT LEAVE ANOTHER CAR. Had to find my own way back to Grand Junction so I wouldn't miss my flight. When I got back home, I learned that ALEX, the MANAGER charged my Gov Credit Card without permission for $1000 dollar "roadside assistance" (tow). At no point in time was I EVER told there would be a fee for fixing a flat tire. Keep in mind, they left me with NO VEHICLE in MOAB. Tried calling Alex the Manager several times over the past few days but the employees have been told to tell me he's in the lot washing cars and will call me back. Real believable. He never did because he knows he's in the wrong. It's my believe that Alex intentionally billed the Gov Credit Card because he knows most of the time, it gets paid. Katie failed at her job by leaving me in Moab with no vehicle, but also because she failed to tell me I would have to pay for the tow. The proper thing for Alex to do is to refund the US Government the $1000 dollar tow fee since it was never discussed prior, and I had no other options i.e. no spare of donut. He likely won't since he can't even call me back. Be cautious when using this location and be even more cautious with Alex Managing the location. I wish I could give zero stars. If the owner of this location reads this, please know I am pursing website, and app reviews. Hertz should be removed from the approved Government vender list due to fraud.

I rented a vehicle online through the Grand Junction Enterprise location on 5th Street (not the…read moreairport). I specifically reserved a luxury sedan through their website. A couple of days before our trip, I received a call fromTim informing me that they do not have luxury vehicles available at that location. That was the first time I was made aware of this. The only option I was offered at the same price was a Ford Escape. That is not even close to a comparable replacement for a luxury sedan. When I spoke with Tim, there was no effort to find a reasonable solution. I was simply told that if I wanted the vehicle I originally reserved, I would need to go to Denver to get it. This raises a few concerns: Why is a luxury sedan listed as available on the Grand Junction location's website if it cannot actually be rented there? Why was availability not clarified at the time of booking? Why was there no comparable substitute offered? This experience felt misleading and disappointing, especially given that the reservation was made in good faith through their own website.

But it was between that and a hard place, so we took it (they did knock some money off). Now I know what driving a monster truck must feel like. We survived, but it seems to me that they should not accept reservations if they can't honor them. What's worse, the pre-printed contract showed us arriving several hours earlier than we did, thus increasing the number of rental days by one. However, when we returned the van, the final receipt showed us as having picked up the car several hours later than we actually did, thus saving us money. True, we benefited from their disorganization, but you might pay because of it. Check and double-check everything carefully.

Rental office located on the first floor of this small airport and getting and dropping the car was an easy in and out process. Attendant that released the vehicle to me asked if I wanted to upgrade to a Mustang for $5 more and that opened up the dialogue for a good conversation, but I did decline. When I dropped off the car and handed the keys in, I was pleasantly surprised to have a very handsome Asian guy help me, who was professional and nice. Wasn't expecting that and he reminded me of a hot Asian cowboy, if that even exists lol. Overall, a good experience, easy and affordable option. I will use them again when I fly into Grand Junction.

Mike was super knowledgeable about the area and very attentive to our comfort level with his driving, pacing and the terrain. They also had cold water for the stops. The views were spectacular. When we returned, we were greeted by other staff with a warm smile, a cold popsicle and a neat sticker for the business that was great for our scrapbooks.
