    a plate of breakfast food

I Our first visit to the Alamo Restaurant was very favorable. It's just off of Business 83 and has ample parking. The menu features both Mexican and American. We had Mexican breakfasts which were very good. They had plenty of waitresses and they kept up with the customers requests. The wait for the food seemed a little longer than expected but they were busy. Good food, good coffee, good staff, reasonable prices, plenty of seating. Worth a visit.

So far, this is my favorite restaurant in Alamo. Have eaten there several times, and most visits have been fine. An interesting mix, as both locals and Winter Texans are there, and seems both are very familiar and comfortable with the staff. Has two dining areas, and a TV in one corner. It can be VERY noisy, so turn your hearing aid on low! Breakfast is served all day, the sign says these days. Service is always good. I get to practice mi espanol con las meseras. Now, some of my orders... 1. French toast with over medium hard poached eggs and bacon; pretty plate presentation, toast sprinkled with white powdered sugar: FT soggy, exchanged it for regular toast. PE done hard, but it's rare to find it ever done perfectly. Bacon perfect. Toast was fine. 2. Child's taco plate: Wasn't asked if I wanted shell crispy or soft, etc. But the soft shelled, full of mouth-watering chicken with lettuce and tomato was perfect, along with the Spanish rice and refried beans I added to the already too-full taco. 3. Child's enchilada plate. Friend ordered it, she wished she had ordered the taco plate, but both of us cleaned our plates. If it would have been polite, we would have licked the plates clean! 2&3. Served with a green sauce/salsa: Spicy, so a little went a long ways. Just fine. Have eaten there several other times, and probably ordered the regular chicken taco plate. See my photos. Occasionally, I stop by the bakery next door. It's fun to look at the desserts and pan dulce. If interested in buying, pick up a tray and tongs, and fill up a bag. You can't go wrong! Andale! Dale dale! Yum yum!

Nice little place. Service was friendly and efficient, even on a busy Sunday morning. The food has plenty of spice, very good.

To start with the positive, it had a good ambiance and has a picturesque environment for dining out…read morefor a special occasion or simply sharing a meal with family. However, the food is overpriced and the service we received was dismissive. There were a lot of flies inside, and we found a fly in our margarita after a couple of sips. When we brought this up to the server, no apologizes were made and it was brushed over. We were told they replaced it with a new one, but the glass we received after was the exact same level it had been previously, which we were told was due to restaurant policy. Important to note, the "full" glass we were given not even a full glass. We returned the drink due to not feeling confident in the change. Would not recommend this place, and would recommend driving out to some of the other further restaurants in the area!
