Never again will I allow Public Storage to pull me in with their sticky storage rates. On 10/16/23…read moreI moved my belongings into Public Storage, with a monthly rate of $131.00. In just over four months on 2/29/24, I received notice that my rate would be increasing to $176.00 for April's payment. At this point I called and inquired on why it was being raised so quickly, in which case they did what was called a rent adjustment and left the rate at $131.00. By 7/3/24 (just over four months later) my rate increased to $176.00, and they said that there's nothing they can do about the increase. Then once again, four months later I received another notice on 11/26/24 that my rate would be increased to $223.00 and would take effect on 1/1/25. Outrageous! My previous storage facility was also climate controlled at U-Haul, and I stored my items there for six years. Within that six-year period, my storage rate only increased three times starting at $152.00 and ended at $168.00. At public storage within one year and two months, my storage rate increased twice almost doubling what I was paying when I first moved my belongings into Public Storage. On 12/27/24 I moved my belongings from Public Storage to a competitor that is also climate controlled. My rent at the competitor's climate storage is $152.00 a month for an even larger storage unit than what I had at Public Storage. You tried to get me Public Storage, better luck getting someone else with your excessive rate increases. And lastly, the temperature is not cool in your facility. It was always too warm, even during summer months.

Ummm you should replace my lock due to Injave never been in a position to have a lien put on my unit. I am not a trouble customer and I had friends go to them never again. Go to U-Haul.

I regret the day that I chose Public Storage as my storage facility and this is why…read more --- I am deeply, deeply disappointed with Public Storage on Stella Street. What started as a $29-a-month rental, which I was promised, turned into a nightmare. As promised the first month they only charged me a dollar, then I was charged 29 dollars the 2nd month which is the rate I was promised each month following the 1 dollar promotion. But once the second month passed, the rate skyrocketed--first to $45, then $65, and eventually over $300. They claimed I was a month and a half behind and threatened to auction my unit, even after I explained I was fleeing from domestic violence and was awaiting victim compensation funds. Despite my pleas, they showed zero empathy. They even let me rent a U-Haul, spend nearly $500 on movers, only to find the elevator broken and no communication from the property manager concerning the issue of not being able to use the elevator. The property manager refused to help, even when I asked for a temporary ground unit. Her only suggestion was to pay for another unit elsewhere. So I did that reluctantly and after I paid for a separate unit at Henderson Street, they fraudulently re-rented the unit I supposedly paid for. And refused to discuss the unit in question because I didn't know the name of the person on the unit!! Which was supposed to be me. After months of calling, they continued to give me the run around and refused to refund the 69 dollars i paid on the unit and even lied saying i never purchased the unit and that the money i paid was applied to my bill at the stella location even though i informed them i had a welcome email from where i purchased the unit. Thats when the property manager hung up in my face. And I had to escalate it through the FTC just to get my money back. In the end, they auctioned off all my belongings--the most precious being my children's baby photos which is all i had left of my children, then sent me a bill for hundreds more. They are completely fraudulent, money-hungry, and have zero regard for people's lives. I would never recommend them to anyone. Stay far, far away.

No one is in person to assist you even though their office is supposedly open till 5 PM…read more If you go, don't have your hopes up on getting in person help. I will not recommend this place for AC controlled units. The third floor is not air, conditioned, and blows hot air. I was told that the dollies were stolen and were being ordered so I didn't have a way to move my items even though dollies were listed as an amenity for the facility. When I went back on Sunday, I seen a dolly/cart and it was an old dolly so I highly doubt that that was the new one that they ordered. Don't expect getting a resolution through the managers or the general manager because they give you false information and when you bring it to the general manager, Mark Bitterman, he will just say that you're a liar without actually saying it. I hope this is helpful for someone in the future. This is a genuine review.

We moved into the unit and realized e needed another one. We called and they were able to get us another unit! All was well, no issues getting in at all. The only thing we ever ran into was communication. We only needed the unit for 3 days, and we were out within 2. I called and left 2 messages on how to return the locks, never received a call back but received an email about a bill for the following month. I called and spoke to a man and told him that I finally left the locks and keys in the unlocked unit. He said he would take care if it. I was very happy with the service overall.

One would think that, if you list a contact number for assistance, the someone who answers that call could assist you. On the contrary. The contact person can only take payments. Moreover, the web page which espouses to be useful to make online payment is broken. It is only available a day after payment is due, thus inspiring an overdue notice.... not only ridiculous but stupid. Surely the Better Business Bureau has and is entertaining complaints (in addition to the one I have filed) with regard to the ineffective business practices and dismal treatment of customers by this concern.
