The entire experience has been nothing short of world-class from the moment I entered your office for our initial consultation. I am the first to admit that my expectations of others are very rarely met - and you and your team have managed to exceed them. Every encounter with Helen and Linda was warm, efficient, professional, informative and entirely thorough. Lisa could not have been more kind, patient and reassuring in both the office visits and any time I had a question over the phone. I was blown away by all of the pre-surgery information that you put together and sent to my home explaining the reasoning behind the strict and methodical medical testing requirements and photography. I continuously had the sense that my good health was entirely paramount and was therefore drawn to follow your every instruction because there was so much sense put into it. It was very thoughtful to send the prescriptions ahead of time, to give directions to different pharmacies and even direct how to boil ginger for a natural stomach soother - you did not miss anything. I was also pleasantly surprised by your 'bedside manner'. In my experience with surgeons who have treated myself or my family from everything from ACL repair to pancreatic cancer - we always make sure to go to the best Doctor we can afford. It has always felt like the surgeons who are within the top 1% of their specialty, as you most certainly are - are entirely desensitized by all of the acclaim they're work has received. As a patient you feel like you cannot ask tough questions because you get the sense that you are insulting their intelligence and wasting their time. It could not be more different an experience with you Pre-Op and Day-Of and now Post-Op with Peggy. I could ask anything and you always took every question and answered it with clear thought and most importantly with honesty. You never simply fed me 'what I wanted to hear' and I appreciate that. I could not believe the multiple phone calls I received from your office the week before surgery just checking in to make sure I was comfortable with all of the instructions and especially to get a personal call from you, Dr Matarasso the day before and the day after surgery - it was beyond what I expected and it was wonderful. So now it has been six days since surgery. There is NO bruising anywhere. The swelling is minimal. The pain has gone down to being non-existent. I know this has to do with all of the vitamins and the careful instructions on self-care that your office provided. I can see the outline of my nose under the splint and I am very happy with what I see. I cannot wait for Thursday to see it out of the splint and touch it. I did not feel this way at all after the 2003 surgery at the CC. I have seen Peggy twice and she removed with such care the sutures that you tied with such precision; I am an artist and I notice Everything. You clearly are not a fan of scars, as the work you did was very clean. I cannot say enough about Peggy - she is just really special. She removed my facial sutures with the steadiest hands and had the most soothing voice and pre-emptive explanations of every step so there was never a surprise. She even praised me and kept saying I was doing great...I wanted to tell her that She was the one doing great! But she asked me to keep my head still...so I did and kept quiet. I do not gush and I certainly did not suggest they consider going to you as I did not know any of them were seriously considering surgery in the near future. They all said it on their own. I absolutely love the results of my blepharoplasty surgery with Dr. Matarasso. This is something I wasn't really planning to do, but I know someone who looks FABULOUS and asked her who her doctor is. I think I've aged pretty well, except my eyes have bothered me for a long time. I worked up the courage to move forward and consulted with two other doctors. None compared to Dr. M. He took the time to explain details to me and was very thoughtful in his assessment by explaining the root causes of the deterioration in my eye area. I also just liked him. (And if you saw the person who referred me to him, you would run - not walk - to his office.) Just before the surgery began, he realized I was freezing and shaking (it was cold in that room!) and he immediately took steps to make me comfortable. Throughout the preparation, I can't say enough about his office staff. They helped prepare me every step of the way and were right there for me afterwards. They are excellent pre-op care, which resulted in faster healing. I had a lot of questions and as a result was contacting them quite a bit post-surgery. (Dr. Suri - thank you so much!!) Every day I look in the mirror, I don't look tired anymore. My eye makeup looks better. In fact, I barely need eye makeup anymore. More than that, I just feel so much better about myself. I am not sure what additional procedure(s) I may seek in the future, but I'm comforted to know he is available. I think the decision to have cosmetic surgery is such an emotional one because it really impacts your well-being and how you feel about yourself. And of course, it is a financial investment. I'm in my 60's and decided after years to see if it was possible to get face, eyes, nose plastic surgery accomplished in one surgical session of course like everyone else I wanted great results too. The only independent non ad supported resource I could find to guide me was Newsweek's 2022 ranking of top plastic surgeons in the US. It reminds me of US News and World report on hospitals. Previously being on a board for a top 5 hospital for many years I can attest the US World report was taken serious, I imagine Newsweek's plastic surgery rankings are taken as seriously in New York City's plastic surgery community. In Newsweek rankings only one surgeon is ranked in the top 10 for the 5 procedures Newsweek covers... Newsweek ranking is for the entire country not just New York. That surgeon is Dr Matarasso, the surgeon I chose. Here's what I wanted to share: There are only a few doctors in New York City that do Face/Nose/Eyes during one surgery session. It's very complex surgery as I've been told only a few have mastered this three in one procedure. One of my finalist would only do a slight change to the nose. He was so quick he missed I had a deviated septum.. he also needed 8 hours to do a 4 hour procedure. Yes he said 8 hours. The other very well respected surgeon does multiple cases a day. So if you're like me. you don't want to be the second patient, or be the first and have another doctor finish your procedure, which is what I uncovered how he's able to do multiple complex procedures in a day. He is a has been hack. He ruined my neck and my breasts. Here i was thinking park ave doctor . i should have known by his ratings or lack there of that he was a has been. Left me botched and helpless then didnt even want to see me after. I pray that no one goes to him or they may wind up disfigured like me. My neck was full of seromas and i could not move it for about 9 months . I felt like i had a noose around it. He basically did nothing i went to rehab for 1 year trying to gain movement back in my neck. On top of that My breasts are crooked and super uneven. Other doctors i saw said he did a hack job so i will need to revise. Please be warned and ask him for after pics. Oh thats right he has none LOL.. I originally went to see Dr Matarasso for a rhinoplasty, laser and lipo, he did a beautiful job and the recovery was easy. His staff was very receptive when I had questions after surgery. I then went to him a second time for breast implants and two friends of mine have also seen him since. We all look so natural and have no scarring... I think I can speak for them when I say we are beyond pleased. He is an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable surgeon. I have nothing negative to say about my experience with DR. M. He is so capable, knowledgable, caring and generous. Throughout the whole process I felt so safe- and I am EXTREMELY afraid of surgery. Most INCREDIBLE Dr. ever. His staff was so kind and the wait was so short, I went to him for lypo and my thighs and tummy look great.
