The "deli" in the rear of the store has pre-packaged foods, some pastry items, and coffee. I ordered a decaf coffee, which was a small decaf Americano ($4). Service was pleasant. read more

The deli here is amazing, I have come here a few times for their sandwiches! The italian is definitely my favorite. A great spot to check out, grab a sandwich and some snacks, and have a picnic at the beach. You also get a side with your sandwich whether it is fruit, mac salad, or potato salad; you can't go wrong. He has been a regular customer I found out only today! The sandwiches are amazing. The staff are super super friendly and so welcoming! The store is cleaned and so well organized! Their prices are comparable to Costco and even cheaper on some of their wine. Charcuterie section like cheese and cold cuts are cheaper than Wholefoods and way cheaper than Pavillion. I came to Alan's Market after strolling around in the Marina Del Rey area. There aren't many restaurants open due to COVID so I had to get drinks for the AirBnB and for my to go cup. The prices are pretty reasonable for both wine abs spirits. There always seems to be specials so you can always find a deal. The market is near the beach and would be a great pit stop before you head out to the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful and I would definitely be coming back when I am back in the area. Coming back from a day at the beach, or needing an ingredient for dinner, ( as well as a bottle of wine) Alan's Market will have what you're looking for: a bottle of chilled water, or a pint of exotic ice cream, to a six-pack of "Morretti's, if you don't see what you're looking for, ask a friendly employee. The staff is friendly and treats everyone, tourist or "regular" the same, with hello's and smiles. Most of "the guys" have been around for years, and know where every item is on each shelf.... And can be helpful in suggesting a Chardonnay that's on special. Stop on in, you may spend a little more, even if you only came in for "one thing", with any luck, you'll become a regular. I do like this corner store however I don't like that they don't display prices for any of their items. Most items seem to be reasonably priced (It's a fun game of Russian Roulette each time at the counter.. not really) but sometimes you'll find an item or two waaaay overpriced. I just now picked up a frozen pizza from them thinking "surely it can't be more than $10... WRONG. When I went to pay for it in the front I found out they are charging $15.99 for a Digiorno frozen pizza. HIGHWAY ROBBERY. I've never seen a Digornio pizza for over $9 in a grocery store. What a rip off! I'll think twice about what I purchase from here again. I hope OWNER/MANGEMENT reads these. Sunday 2/24/24 around 10:30 AM You have an employee who verbally and physically abuses your customers. Touching customers is wrong; touching customers aggressively in any manner is an assault. I brought my two items to the cashier. He was in a heated talk with a woman, in Spanish. He ignored me as he checked out my two items. I tried several times to tap my card and he finally said and I mean this, arrogant or angrily, "Cash or debit?" Before I could look up to answer he slapped/poked my hand away from the machine. "Don't touch me!" I said. This bothered him a great deal. He was incensed, grabbed my things and told me to get out. I told him, "You can't put your hands on people." This made him more angry and I let him know candidly how I felt about him. In years, this man has never once, not once said 'hello' or 'good morning' or anything. He is a rude, insolent, insensitive man who should not be working with people. During the summers he parades around in a sleeveless t-shirt, his armpits exposed in a grocery market that sells food, vegetables, fruit, etc. During the summers he looks like he is in need of bathing. read more

I've been here several times before, and just passed by the sandwich bar without a second thought. Today, I was hungry and in the mood for a sub, so I took a shot on their Italian sub. Wonderful Market with a great selection of food,spirits and wine. Everything in this shop are things I love. Anchoring the market is an excellent deli with excellent grab and go dishes. There are great tuna and egg salad sandwiches, salads and various entrees. Tonight I grabbed the chicken curry which was great. If I'm tired and don't feel like going to a big market this place is delightful. The service is wonderful and it feels like an extension of my kitchen. There's a deli counter toward the back that makes really great sandwiches and salads. I've also had a decent latte from there and a fresh green juice. My personal favorite is the turkey sub. It's $8 and enough for two meals. They use fresh bread and produce. I see them slicing the meat right after you order your sandwich. Sandwiches come with a choice of side (fresh fruit or potato salad). My office mate loves their turkey panini. A really great inexpensive lunch option for the area. Quality is waaaaaay better than the other nearby sandwich options, Subway or Noah's. The market itself is kinda pricy for convenience store items, but it's a few blocks from the beach so maybe that's why. Really great wine selection. This market is a small convenience store close to the beach, on Washington Blvd. I went in here with a friend to help her shop for a small party. The place is cozy, clean, selection is decent, they carry good, solid brands of wine and beers, got some snack as well. Prices are OK. Cute little indie store, I'm glad it's around. I'm not saying the selection is amazing, but you can get some decent things in here when in need of grabbing something. The cashier is funny, a local character (that's why Venice Beach is so unique), he was nice, fun, I even got carded. Years ago, I'd have been so annoyed, now, I just take it as a compliment. read more
