Under new ownership and thank GOD, the new owners have absolutely done an amazing job with this renovation along with adding a deli and fresh cooked food, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday they have freshly cooked kebabs and all the meats are hala and delicious. The owner Armen is awesome he greets everyone with a warm welcome and makes you feel like you've known him for years, the hospitality is A1 along with the food and service. The employees Junior, Paul and Kevin are gems, I appreciate how initiative they are with their customers and service. Over all Davy Jones Liquor Locker & Market is gem here in Venice it's steps away from the beach. Walked in expecting more liquor store than market and walked out with several tasty groceries to make our holiday rental feel more like "home", there's an excellent selection of drinks both alcoholic and non, snacks to stock up beyond the usual chips and junk and a good variety of quality ice creams, cookies and other sweets. This is my go to Market! Not only is it convenient because I live down the street, but the service is always on point, they pretty much have anything you're looking for. The vibe & ambiance is super friendly & chill. First time trying their Friday - Sunday Kabob's they have cooking out front, but let me tell you it's FIRE! Venice is such a unique place full of endless characters and Davy Jones does a heck of a job accommodating all of them. The owners are sincerely some of the kindest and responsive business owners and they have to deal with all walks of life. Thats beyond impressive and my hat is off to them. Shout out to their home cooked meals that are yes indeed, cooked daily and extremely tasty. I have been working in the area for over a year and they have been life savers on so many instances when there is hardly anything around walking distance that isn't extremely overpriced. This is ready to eat food that is of exceptional quality. You truly cant get that kind of mom and pop behind the deli service with kindness as much as you think anymore. And their Kebobs are BOMB.COM. Yea I referenced the 90's, I don't care how outdated it makes me look its that freaking good ya jabronis. Authentic cuisine to mouth water over. YUM. Lastly, these people have been so good to me I even got some of their merch to support and I swear their sweatshirts are the WARMEST I have ever worn. This place is amazing since they rebuilt it and reopened. They have food and wonderful neighborhood shop in addition to a great selection of liquor and beer and wine. But check out the food if you're in the area there's parking available. It's easy it's easier than the other stores. Also, they're just really nice neighborhood oriented people. Today, My dog was just overheated and I didn't have any water and the other restaurants on the boardwalk didn't have water out for dogs and so they filled up a bowl of water for him and it was just so sweet. I have found baking powder, Midori (which I could not find at any liquor store in the area), and limited edition gochujang kettle chips. Reasonable prices and they make fresh kabobs outside. I came across this convenient liquor store over the weekend visiting Venice beach and I decided to buy some vodka . The employee working there was so helpful and recommended a very tasteful vodka that I purchased along with their kebabs. I never tried this type of food and gave it a try as the smell off the grill was intriguing my senses. I ordered the lamb, chicken and beef and let me say it did not disappoint especially with the vodka I purchased it was the perfect combination.
