However, if you have to change the date and/or time of your flight after you've bought a ticket, then you're going to have a heck of a time dealing with them. In previous times, I've booked flights for myself or for other people. One time, I had to change the passenger name from another person's to my own name. This was with no other changes to the itinerary. The surcharge for this change was $50. Another time, I had to change the date and time of my flight. After talking with the customer service rep, I realized that I was far better off just buying a new ticket. A third time, I bought a plane ticket for someone on their app. I clearly put this person's name as the passenger for this ticket. When this person received the confirmation email, this person told me that the passenger name was listed as mine. I called to correct this, and they proceeded to charge me for this change, despite the fact that I had screenshots proving that I indeed put the other person's name as the passenger. In short, they are very shady if you need to make a change to the itinerary. Now for the positive note. This last spring, my girlfriend and I took a trip to Guadalajara. On our way back, we ended up missing our flight due to a longer-than-usual car ride to the airport (thank you, road construction). I thought I was going to have to buy new tickets, which made me worry if any were available for that same day. Fortunately, Volaris has an option for this exact circumstance. I had to pay a fee, and we were guaranteed to fly out the same day. While this came with a 10-hour delay, we were back home by the end of that day. For this, I will give them some kudos. The journey home was ok in itself. The food was a disappointment, which consisted mainly of snack trays. They had coffee, but I didn't have any as I slept throughout the flight. The customer service was ok, nothing stellar but nothing bad, either. This airline does indeed nickel-and-dime customers. They advertise one price, but that price can double or triple, depending on how comfortable you want to travel. So don't expect to travel well on this airline on a budget. Also, we very wary of having to make changes to your itinerary, as they will make you jump through many hoops, and charge you for it.

He was very unprofessional and was not trying to help us. All he kept saying was "buy another flight". Aeromexico is a good airline, but with this, I am not flying with them again. It cost me $500 dollars extra just to stay the night and book a new flight. I hope they fire Pedro and hire people that actually know how to work customer service.

I couldn't believe that last part and it's the main reason I'm writing this review. It's airline food and you shouldn't get your hopes up too high but it was nice to get a sandwich, a small dessert, and decent coffee without having to order it. It's been 20+ years since I've flown this airline but my recent experience was positive and I wouldn't have a problem flying this airline again. If you're planning on bringing a carry on, be prepared to have it weighed and if it's heavier than 10-11kg you're going to need to check it in.

The international security is now on top while the domestic security is near the ticket agents. Security is easy. No need to take off shoes or remove electronics. Just remember to pack your Mexican cheese in your suitcase and not in your carryon bag or it will be removed. The upper level is newer as it has been remodeled. There are a lot of stores and restaurants. Going to the A gates still sucks as you either have to walk on the tarmac or take a bus to get on an airplane. I have rented…read morecars from many providers, including Hertz/Dollar for the past 25 years and this one is by far the worst. I reserved a mid size SUV prior to my arrival at a cost of $347.41. Upon arriving the agent stated the car I reserved was not available and proceeded to force me to accept a compact SUV priced 32% higher!!! My family and our luggage would not fit in the compact SUV, hence the reason I reserved the mid size. In addition, the agent proceeded to add full coverage insurance which was to increase my rental to $1,200!!! Ridiculous!!!! If I refuse the coverage then I needed to leave a $4,000 security deposit through my credit card. Unacceptable! I spent the better part of an hour renegotiating to little avail. At the end of the experience I received the original reserved vehicle. The full coverage insurance was reduced to basic coverage and my rental cost increased to $461.54. I contacted Dollar corporate to file a complaint and request assistance with honoring the original quote. Dollar corporate was of no help citing that the location in Guadalajara is a franchisee; any rental charge dispute had to be directed to the local office directly. This is a joke to say the least as the local office is where the shake down occurred. I hope some folks read this review and think twice about renting from Hertz/Dollar in Guadalajara Airport. This place is a rip off! Don't expect them to honor a reservation quote.

Each of those incidents I wasn't charged a dime since I had purchased their full coverage zero deductible insurance. It's a pricey and mandatory add-on, but it's totally worth it. I only gave them 3 out of 5 stars because they once refused to let me rent a car because they would not accept Mexican bank debit cards. Apparently they only accept Mexican credit cards, or foreign debit/credit cards, which I had none on me on that trip. The clerk was a new employee and management was gone for the evening. Even as a repeat customer they would not let me complete my booking. I found myself stranded considering it was 10:30 in the evening and my final destination was a 1.5 hour drive away. Luckily I was offered a ride by an elderly couple who were headed in the same direction as I was.
