Oh oh oh my!!!! I came here with my cousin to get mani's and pedi's knowing really nothing except the good reviews I saw on yelp. (Shame on me for not always doing this!) Well, I found out A LOT!! Two sisters (Ashley and Andrea) co-own this place and started it a little under a year ago. All of their products are organic and you can tell they really know their stuff when it comes to body grooming and care. They offer tons of services, including but not limited to: Waxing, haircuts (for men and women), mani's, pedi's, massages, etc. My cousin and I had the pleasure of getting our nails done by the owners themselves and they are absolutely the cutest, sweetest ladies ever! Super personable and it's obvious they care a lot about their customers and the services they offer, as well as products sold!! Prices are pretty typical for a salon atmosphere, and absolutely 100% worth it. I will be coming back for more! I got my first haircut/style since the pandemic started at Alba for my graduation from grad school in December. Even though I'd had a rough morning and was a little late, they did their best to accommodate my requests while still being cognizant of their time and their other clients time. It was totally my fault I was late and I appreciate them setting boundaries and expectations to keep themselves on schedule. I enjoyed my experience and liked my haircut and quick style. There are some mixed reviews below as to the quality of this salon. I did not get any hair services completed here (yet) but, honestly, one try of their spa services and I'm hooked. Everyone was incredibly friendly and kind. I did not have to wait at all (since I had an appointment). The ambiance and decor is excellent - a little hipstery/modern without being pretentious. The techs are fantastic - kind, talkative if you want to talk but not pushy. Every product is super natural. They will ask your preferences for certain things if you want (In my case, I'm a runner, so when I got a pedicure I was asked if I just wanted my calluses smoothed instead of removed). The prices are also very good as well. They serve alcoholic beverages for a fee but tea and coffee for free - the tea is loose tea and is fantastic. Definitely recommend for spa services. Definitely a hidden gem in the corner of hyde park. 10/10 will return. read more

I have been back for a few blowouts and after my last visit I wanted to update my review. Every few months after your first visit you'll get a coupon for 10% off any service. Hence I keep going back for blowouts. Typically I'm going to a wedding or have something fun coming up. Most recently I made an appointment with Jessica for a regular blowout, as I've done many times before. I arrived a few minutes early and the receptionist had me sit and let Jessica know I was here, and came back to tell me she was finishing up. 20 minutes later Jessica and her other client finally came out where she proceeded to pose the client/friend and take pictures of her in the lobby. She then went to her station and came back to get me. We sat down and she took at look at my hair, which is pretty long and curly. She then informed me I should have booked a "Deluxe Blowout," as I have too much hair for a normal blowout. I know this service is $20 more expensive and after explaining that I've been here many times I have never booked the deluxe nor has anyone ever asked me to do that in the future. I wasn't going to pay almost double the price for this service. As she should have done, she said it was fine and proceeded to wash my hair. From that moment on I felt awkward about the whole experience and don't know if I'll return. It's a shame, I really enjoyed this place to get blowouts. I understand this is a full-service salon and just washing and drying someone's hair isn't bringing you big bucks, but you don't have to treat clients this way. Don't put it on the menu and don't sign up to do blowouts if you don't want to do them. As I told her, it might be long and curly but its not thick and she wrapped me up in 45 minutes. Yes, I walked out over an hour after I walked in but it had more to do with the wait than me hair. And yes, the blowout looked awesome. read more

First thing I liked about this place was their online service ordering. It was so user-friendly and simple to book an appointment. I very easily got an appointment a few hours from the time I realized, "You know, I should really have something done about these eyebrows." I have really only had my brows done here, so I can't really speak to their other services. I can say that the place is kind of adorable. It's very unassuming from the outside, and you might have no idea that this is a nice-sized salon with so many awesome services until you step inside the front door. The staff was super friendly when I arrived, and I had to wait a bit (but only because I arrived a bit early). There is a comfy couch to sit on while you wait. At the exact moment of my appointment, I believe it was Megan who greeted me and took me back to the waxing torture chamber. That last comment is in jest, I promise. It was not a hellish experience at all, and honestly, I have never had a bad brow experience here, which is all kinds of yay, and the reason I am a repeat customer. She has the highest attention to details, helps do any crazy nail design I ask for, and loves what she does! They've recently redesigned their nail area and it is super cute and they serve drinks! I really enjoyed this place- I had been so skeptical to get my hair cut in Cincinnati even though it had to be done. I had arranged a cut with Sarah, who had done my bangs at the Yelp Elite event. I got there in the afternoon- clean, quaint, and trendy. I liked that it was upscale but not too posh so that you didn't feel out of place. Nice waiting area and nice that it wasn't too crowded. Sarah is super friendly and uses the all organic products that the salon supplies. The salon uses all these toxin free and organic products that smell amazing and do wonders for your hair! My hair is actually really hard to cut because it's thick and curly and I like it short but Sarah said that she wouldn't do too much her first time cutting it. She thinned it out the way I like it and I just love the style. She took off the right amount and respected that I was nervous coming to a new place. I also think the prices were appropriate especially since they have so many deals for booking early. I booked for my next appointment and for a massage as well. I will definitely be going back! Horrible experience. Came in at 1 for shellac manicure and did not get out til 3:30. I was booked with Ashley,but was switched to another manicurist. I wonder if this was due to my being a Groupon customers. My nails looked worse after than what I walked in with. I should have known better when the started to take my gel polish off. It's too bad, because I was so prepared to like this place and was looking forward to trying out their other services. The tech next to me was doing a better job working on the alon staff than on a customer! Wow, I have never had such a bad experience ever at a salon. I'm really excited about the Style Bar. I came early one evening after work for a trim and a blowout. The inside itself was very cute, both casual but still cool. The staff was very friendly. Sarah spent a lot of time actually fixing the mess that a previous person had made of my hair and by the time I walked out, I totally understood while people actually have "blowout bar addictions". I had a spray tan and mani done. My tan looked amazing the next day with only a few uneven areas. My nails looked AMAZING!! I received so many compliments on them. Everyone that worked there was very friendly, the place was super cute and I will definitely go back very soon! This place was just ok. First parking appeared to be on street so if you plan to go anytime when locals will be parking their cars, plan on walking far. Second, there are really three different buildings. The "official" entrance is not clear. You will be taken somewhere else unless you are getting your hair cut/styled. Third, my appointment was 15 mins late. I understand there was traffic due to inclement weather the morning of the appointment. But it had all cleared up by noon. Traffic had all cleared up by then. I was told my nail artist was going to be late due to traffic...if you know you have a 12:15 appointment (scheduled 2 days in advance) your butt should be in the salon no later than 12:00 to make sure everything is set up and ready to go. You know traffic is bad. Plan for it. Fourth I had to walk OUTSIDE again to get to the salon for my nails and back again to pay. I dont want to get wet. Build an awning or connect the buildings. It looks disorganized and lazy. Fifth, pedicures should be given in PEDICURE CHAIRS. I got a pedicure and was sat in a regular armchair up on this stage (about 18 inches - 2 ft tall). She brought out a bowl of water. Legitimately just a bowl of water to soak my feet in. Thats not how it should be done. Even cheap places have chairs with the foot tubs attached. Sixth they had a TINY color selection for both shellac and regular polish. Seventh the nail salon was empty when we arrived. No one else was there. It was quiet and awkward. It was likely due to the time of my appointment but still. Bottom line is if you want to get a good mani/pedi just go down the street to Empire Nail Bar in Hyde Park plaza. Parking is a breeze. HUGE color selection. Excellent service. I am definitely not returning to this salon for my nails though. Maybe waxing or hair styling. But definitely not nails. UPDATE: Less than a week later (FIVE DAYS TO BE EXACT) my shellac manicure has completely come off! Peeled off in one flake right off of my finger. THAT IS NOT OKAY!!!!! I'm not even going to bother going back to this place for them to fix it. I'll just go up to Hyde Park Plaza to Empire Nail Bar and get a shellac mani (same price) that will ACTUALLY last. Save your money and find somewhere else that will give you a good experience and a lasting result. read more

I am from out of town and was trying to find a nail place. I really like coming here except for the chair set up for the pedicures. To me it's awkward and not relaxing like the usual nail chairs you sit in. I love the nail tech girls. They are all so sweet nice and funny. I have had Kassie and Jyana do my nails and they did an awesome job. My polish stayed shiny and on the longest. Thanks girls!! read more

PROS: The high stars are for my hair care experiences. I have been getting my hair cut with Josette for almost 2 years now and have always had a positive experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. CONS: I have had shellacs done here 3 times now and I have never been very happy. The first time Josette did it and it began peeling off every nail the next day!! She didn't remove my cuticles at all. I went back that week to get them redone and the manager had to "pre-approve" me to get it redone at no cost, which I totally understand and was ok with, but her attitude towards me was very rude. Anyway, I got it redone by another nail tech who stated that not many girls at the salon like nails so that is why it was not done to high standards. (That should never be an excuse to charge someone an outrageous amount for poor service.) Anyway she redid them and were better. Though overall this shellac didn't fall off it still was not that great for the over priced cost. read more

By far the worst shellac manicure I have ever had. Im not sure if the person was new or what but really inexcusable. Old nail polish still left around edges of nails, cuticles a mess, tips of nails and sides of nail bed missing polish, polish looked streaky. Was there double the amount of time at a usual nail salon with horrible results. The name sounded cute so I thought I would give it a try. Nails are done next to the receptionist desk and interior was not impressive. I wanted to show the manager how awful the nails looked but after almost 90 minutes, i just wanted to get out of there. Same prices as other salons in the area with awful results. Wont be back and my nail experience will not make me eager to try any other services :( read more

I got a cincy savers shellac manicure for $17.50 but originally the manicure would be $35 they did a good job however my nails polish has already started to peel and I had it done yesterday it is suppose to last at least two weeks. I went to Cincy Style Bar yesterday for a spray tan because I had a big presentation to do today. What a confidence booster! I have heard positive comments all day. Someone said I had a "glow" about me. I've been there before for a spray tan and have always had great results. And---the presentation went well! Got a pedi from Juana. Super relaxing!! Now I'm soft and shiny :) Atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back. I had never been to an organic place before, so it was a little different for me. Not a ton of colors to choose from, but their selection covered the basics. Offered me water, came in a cute glass. They didn't ask what kind of pedicure I wanted, so things go a little mixed up in the middle. They had some kind of diffuser by the front door that was very strong, but once I got away from it, the smell was very pleasant. The scrub and lotions they used smelled great and made my feet feel amazing. First time I've gotten a pedicure and not been asked if I wanted a design...was a little sad when she put on the top coat and I realized it was too late to ask... Could have been a little more attention to detail as far as choice of pedi or any extras I might have wanted. But overall I left with soft, supple feet and a beautiful pedi on my toes. :) read more
