A great pizza joint/restaurant! The ambiance was very family-like cozy, and the service was amazing! We had the prosciutto & arugula pizza and an Italian cold cut sandwich, which weee both amazingly delicious!

We wanted to get some pizza for our movie night date In and we made a good choice stopping by at Alba's! Defined a must try pizza near Astoria, we also grab a cheese and spinach calzone which wasn't that great so I would suggest sticking to the pizza . We gave it 7/10!

The shrimp salt was different and the broccoli was just right I think it need more spice

The food was amazing but I think it could be much better I recommend coming here with friends or family for the best thrill. The service was excellent the server was nice and kind and told us all the details. The style of the restaurant was really nice it has the vibes of a pizza place and the set up was amazing

Whenever I'm in the mood for pizza on ditmars, I have to go to albas. The service is always quick and great! We were in and out and were able to sit outside and enjoy people watching. They definitely have good pizza and garlic knots! We will try their pizza dishes next time.

What a delicious restaurant with the best vibes! I can't believe it took me so long to check it out. And they sometimes do comedy shows there also! The menu is so long, it was hard to choose what to order! This time I got the papardelle bolognese. Next time I'm going for the bow ties with broccoli rabe! And the cocktails are amazing also. You feel like you're at a real old school joint, and you are! It's been in the family for generations.

This food is truly delicious. Great prices, great portions. My boyfriend and I can't stop coming here since we tried it. The service is great too! As someone who grew up on authentic New York Italian, I recommend!

Vodka sauce is one of the best I've ever had if not the best. Chicken parm was great. Very clean restaurant. Came for the comedy show on a Thursday night and it was a great time.

Ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. Delicious but you can't have more than 1 slice before the flavors overwhelm you and you have to walk away. The flavors pack such a punch. Perfectly grilled chicken, Rich mozzarella, BBQ sauce, red onions. I had to cut the flavors with ranch dressing. I felt like I did on Thanksgiving day and had to retire to the couch. Don't get me wrong. It was very very good just a one slice and done type pie.

The whole space wasn't too big, with a bar and some high tops. Even though Christmas was a few months ago, the place had a holiday feel due to the lights and Christmas tree. We weren't given a physical menu, just a QR code. Blackbird's offers five flavors of wings: mild, medium, hot, nuclear, and honey BBQ. I ordered a dozen ($15.95) mild wings which to my surprise, didn't come with carrots and/or celery. You do get your choice of ranch or blue cheese. I did like the sauce, though the wings were fried a tad too long. We ordered a side of fries ($7.95) which were pretty good too. The two servers checked on us regularly and were nice. Would return to catch a game!

After debating about staying or going, we were told about table may actually be leaving soon so it'd be more like 5-10 minutes. The wing Special is a dozen wings for $11 and $7 for half dozen. It comes with one sauce and dip and $.75 extra for any more. We put an order of 2 dozen wings in with medium, mild, and Honey bbq Sauces plus blue cheese. There is also a $6 draft beer special. The wings came out piping hot and we're so delicious. I couldn't tell which sauce was mild or medium and when asking a busser, he said he didnt know which was odd. Staff should know what their condiments look like to tell the difference. Luckily the medium wasn't bad so I was able to try it also. The wings are a pretty decent size so I got full after about 5 and took the rest home. Our waiter Leah was very friendly and helpful. She checked on us just enough and was very attentive. It seemed like she was the only server that night so and it was quite busy. She handled it all very well. We only came for the wings but I heard their other food is great too so I will definitely be back. As an fyi, wings day is cash only.

It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! Overall food and service was on point, but also it was a random weeknight where there wasn't a crowd. Either way, recommend this bar if you're looking to grab a bite or watch a game! Classic Waygu Burger - 4/5 Great tasting and juicy burger, but one thing I wish was included was a side of fries at bare minimum. What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.

The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was so friendly and charming. I went with a small group and we were able to be seated rather quickly. We ordered so much and ate every bite of it. There were some things we enjoyed, but overall we left feeling that the quality and portions didn't justify the prices. We ordered the chicken curry puffs first. They were much sweeter than I'm used to, and instead of the traditional cucumber relish, they were served with plum sauce. It wasn't terrible, just not what I expected. The roti with Massaman curry had good flavor, but the curry was so thin that it had the consistency of soup rather than a rich curry. It also came without any potatoes, carrots, or onions. I wasn't expecting meat, but I did expect a more traditional Massaman curry. The grilled beef (nuea yang) was cooked well and very tender, but the beef itself was lacking seasoning. Thankfully, the dipping sauces added some flavor. The beef short rib khao soi was another dish that felt underwhelming. The short rib was excellent--fall-off-the-bone tender--but the curry broth itself tasted too light. I personally think it needed more curry paste and more depth of flavor, especially for a dish that's around $40. The biggest disappointment was the kua kling chicken and the Hat Yai fried chicken. Both portions were surprisingly small considering the price. That's where I really felt the value wasn't there. Unfortunately, the service didn't help either. It wasn't rude, but it felt inattentive and lacked the warmth and hospitality I usually associate with Thai restaurants. I always want to support fellow Thai-owned businesses, so writing this review honestly makes me sad. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from trying the restaurant--this is simply my family's experience. Everyone has different tastes, and yours may be completely different from ours. For us, though, the combination of light flavors, small portions, and lackluster service left us disappointed, especially for a birthday dinner.
