On 10/09/2025, I underwent a bursectomy performed through Desert Orthopedic Center at Eisenhower Medical Center. I was discharged after surgery without a splint on my elbow. Within a few weeks, at a follow-up appointment, the physician observed that the surgical wound had reopened. I have photographic documentation of the open wound. I was then informed that I would require a second surgery to close it properly. On 11/10/2025, I underwent a second procedure to repair the wound. This time, I was sent home with a splint. I then endured another full month of recovery, additional medical appointments, additional time off, and additional physical and emotional stress. Despite the fact that this second surgery was necessitated by the failure of the original surgical outcome, I was billed for the second procedure. It is unreasonable and unacceptable to charge a patient a second time for corrective surgery when the initial procedure did not heal properly. In addition to the financial burden, I experienced prolonged pain, inconvenience, extended recovery, and disruption to my life. I am formally requesting a full billing review and appropriate financial resolution for the second surgery and related follow-up care. Patients should not bear the financial consequences of complications that stem from their medical care. I urge both Desert Orthopedic Center and Eisenhower Health to review their post-operative discharge protocols and billing practices to ensure accountability and prevent similar experiences for other patients.

Also, the doctors I have had both over the computer or in person have been great as well. The chiropractors have been outstanding.. I should've rotten everyone's names down, but I'm sure if you find out who they are feel free to call me. I'll tell you that they have all together as a whole giving me excellent care and help me to achieve a better quality of life than I ever thought was possible for a long time now.. I highly recommend this in a location in these employees and doctors to everyone. My only complaint unfortunately is whoever does their referrals has been unacceptable. Which is a shame because when everyone else is doing their jobs and going above and beyond and it's outstanding, it's frustrating to have to continuously. Keep coming down and selling them that the paperwork is wrong so it takes longer. But even with that my health because of the excellent care at the facility has moved mountains in my pain and being able to do things I enjoy.. I am extremely grateful for their team.

As someone who has dealt with chronic pain for over 10 years, I have never had this level of personal care and attention from a doctor before. And Lifekind has so many wonderful practitioners - Dr. Burke always makes me feel safe, understood, and is very careful and tactful with her chiropractic care! She is a really wonderful kind person and the way she cares for her patients is really encouraging to see. I always recommend acupuncture care from Dr. Kevin as well, it has become my favorite treatment and it makes a huge difference in my pain management! He is very methodical and talented at his work, I have only ever experienced pain relief and relaxation when in his care! I also have to shout out Irene, who was my patient coordinator last year when I was going through a really dark time. She made me feel like I wasn't alone, went out of her way to check on me every time I was in-office, and her kindness really saved my life when I felt I was at the end of my rope. Even though she's in a different position now, she still always makes time to say hi to me and make sure I'm doing alright. I can't express enough just how much I love and appreciate Irene, she has the biggest heart and she is truly an asset to the Lifekind team! I recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with chronic pain, the team has so many practitioners with different specialties, and they even introduced me to a spinal cord stimulator, which has been such a safer, better choice than previous doctors who recommended spinal fusion. I also love getting my appointments scheduled by Marisol, she is so kind and has the brightest smile in the office! I'm thankful I get to be a part of this practice and get care every two weeks! I absolutely recommend Lifekind.

To complicate the diagnosis I also had two other confirmed diagnoses of my knee. One doctor suggested a surgical procedure to correct one diagnosis of my knee. Another doctor said I needed a knee replacement, I did not. My Ortho doctor that I trust, confirmed that I did not need a knee replacement. Dr Tailor, who does not perform surgical procedures but looks for alternatives to surgery, determined that some of the pain in my knee was radiating from my hip and referred me back to my other, (Dr Tailor being one of them now) favorite Ortho Doctor Dustin Briggs for a hip replacement. I had the hip surgery about four months ago and the pain in my knee has definitely diminished. I still have some minor pain in my knee and still have the initial two diagnoses of my knee but the pain is not as severe. I am currently seeing Dr Tailor and he is trying options to determine what will work best. As he said, he likes to solve mysteries. He is wonderful, inquisitive and caring and has several options available, we shall see which one works. I highly recommend him. I like that surgery will be the last option, not the first.
