We did a day visit to Cozumel and Lobster Shack is located not far from the ferry port. With all the rave reviews, we had to stop by. It's a small restaurant with few seats inside and a couple of tables outside. We started with one Lobster Roll $260 before committing to getting four orders. It came with a side of tortilla chips and coleslaw. It was just alright, nothing really special or worth writing home about. We were glad we started with just the one as it would have been a lackluster experience. The roll was a bit dry and the coleslaw was bleh. We all took a bite and we concluded that we did not want to order anymore. Service was pleasant though. read more

I liked this meal a lot! It was tasty and incredibly filling. The restaurant has a couple of options to choose how you'd like your protein served, but I picked the bowl (I just wasn't in the mood for a sandwich). The prices are a bit higher than a lot of other local places in Cancun, but the flavor is excellent and the portions are very generous. I had the lobster and it was really buttery, but really good. The richness of the buttery flavor paired really nicely with rice. The food came out quickly and hot! The only thing is that the store front is a little small, so if you're going with a large group, some folks may have to sit outdoors! If you're visiting Cancun and don't speak Spanish, don't worry! Lobster roll - Different from those in Boston. The roll is not bad but not as buttery, the lobster is salty but not much lobster flavor. You definitely smell the grilling of the lobster shell but the meat doesn't have any grill mark. Add the sauce it'll taste better just not lobster flavor Steak and bacon roll - the steak and bacon was very delicious. Again the sauce help. Watch out for the spicy sauce, I think the Coconut margarita - Really tasty. I'm not a big alcohol/cocktail drinker but I did appreciate the taste. read more

It's a small shop located on a side street off the main road in downtown Cozumel. For $16, the lobster roll came in a soft brioche roll which was delicious. It also came with some chips and a small coleslaw. The lobster meats tasted fresh. The sandwich wasn't overflowing with meats or ingredients. It's a fair value but not super impressive. Service was excellent . The ambiance was casual. After having the lobster roll at a few other places, I have to say the best one I had to date was at a stand outside of Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco. If you have to have lobster roll, then this place will do. If you can wait, I would wait. read more

This is an island MUST! Every time we're in Cozumel we come here. Where else can you get a lobster roll for $12?! The owner is super nice! The service is outstanding, and the price is unmet. We've tried everything on the menu and it's great! The lobster roll and bowls are my personal faves however. Very filling! Cash only. When you are in Cozumel, you HAVE to check out the Lobster Shack. It is sooooo good. I seriously wanted to eat here every day, and I kinda wish I had. It's super casual and reasonably priced. Daniel was sooo friendly and gave us some great tips on restaurants to check out while we were staying in Cozumel. Most importantly, the food and drinks are delicious. They prepare all the food on a small griddle right in front of you. The lobster roll is chock full of lobster meat, which is served warm. I insist that you try the coconut margarita. Small place, conveniently located downtown off of the Melgar. We've eaten here a few times over the past several years. The food is very good. We really enjoy their chipotle and habanero sauces and I highly recommend trying their coconut margarita. Service is always quick and friendly. Yesterday I had the shrimp and lobster bowl and my husband had the surf and turf burrito. We both agreed each could've had more lobster. We really enjoyed this little cafe and their eclectic menu. We each had the lobster and bacon bowl: lobster, bacon, beans, rice, etc., on salad. Really tasty and unique. Wow the food is great!! My first time here. Owner very friendly small little hole in the wall place. Come try and support local owner. I had the lobster bowl. They have small menu. Make sure you don't miss this precious gem on a side street off the main drag through San Miguel. It's tiny, with only a few tables (they do a lot of take out). We had the Lobster and Bacon Rolls which were divine. I wouldn't call it cheap food (lobster is not cheap in Cozumel), but our delicious lunch was well worth the $14 each price tag. Not only was there an abundance of lobster and bacon, but also a bit of avocado and lettuce. Divine! read more

Do not pass this gem! It's quality food and the prices are great! I got the lobster bowl, with no rice and butter and cole slaw on the side. This was fresh lobster and I would highly recommend this place. The workers were very friendly and made sure we had everything that we needed. They also let us know that they own the taco shop next door. Three is also free wifi and it is very clean. I can't wait to go back! read more

We found this spot on Day 4 of our in Cozumel and it was a gem! Very simple decor and simple menu, which is a part of what makes it phenomenal! We had a sampler of rolls and a shrimp burrito, guacamole, and chips. We had to reorder more because everyone ate it all up!!! Daniel, the owner, was super down to earth and made my 5 year old feel right at home! I'd definitely recommend it and we'll be back! read more

Me and my fiancé went there today and the hood was delicious ! Even the owner Daniel was extremely helpful, polite , friendly and you can tell he has a passion for what he does and loves serving the customers in this community . Skip the crap on the main strip! This place is da bomb! Seriously, this was the best thing I've had to eat in a long time. We had the lobster roll and lobster burrito. Flavorful and generously stuffed with sweet succulent pieces of lobster! The coconut margarita was a big hit too! Run by young innovative foodies who know what they're doing! Been looking forward to trying this place. The owner or who ever has grey long hair, was so beyond rude. Walked it and instead of a pleasant greeting said mask now. Then continued on telling me that he has two orders ahead of me and then continued to ignore me. Very rude. I'm not sure they understand tourism is keeping them in business. But if you are a local wow it was a different reception. Bummer - I will not be coming back or recommend to any of my friends read more

I probably should not be rating this place because I am not seafood lover. But with so much hype on Yelp I had to give it a shot. Real small little place just the way I like them and super easy to find. We were the only ones in there. Menu is easy to read and the staff is super friendly. They make the food right there in front of you on a flat top grill. I opted for the double lobster roll($19 USD) and my wife got the surf and turf roll($16 USD). Lobster tasted fine, like I stated earlier I don't enjoy seafood that much, and the rolls were fresh and buttery. I would not get the double roll if I was to return. Just way to much bread. There was 4 of us eating and our bill $75 USD. That was the most expensive meal I have eaten down here and we have been to many places. I would not return but someone who loves lobster might go daily. I'm glad I was able to have the opportunity to eat there once. read more

We only stayed on Cozumel for 3 days and are really glad that we found this place the first night. We ended up coming back for the ceviche because the other places we tried were a disappointment. Ceviche is definitely big enough to share between 2 people and filling but we still ordered other things and overstuffed ourselves. It was perfect and fueled us for the walk back to the resort nearby. We sat outside and watched the sun set on the water and that just made the night even more perfect

I am allergic to MSG/mono, sodium glucose mate and the Chef wasn't too sure what that was. Lol so he was able to make my shrimp tacos with just lemon, garlic, onion, and salt and pepper. The rest of my family got other items and they enjoyed their lunch as well! We had to pay in cash, but everything was delicious! I even got some Agua de jicama! It is a secret gem on the side of the road the inside is beautiful and decorated well. Our server was attentive and made sure we were happy the whole time. We ordered the guacamole. It was AMAZING. Very fresh and had lots of flavor. I ordered the tortilla soup which was an 8/10 the flavor was amazing they used real chilies in the broth. I also got the chicken flautas they were very good I would recommend dipping sauce on the side, but they came with lots of chicken it was a high protein meal. Lastly we got margaritas, they were very good and not too strong but worth the price. Overall had a great time I highly recommend the guacamole.
