Attention Thanksgiving Shoppers at Albertson's - THE FREE TURKEY OFFER SHOWN ON THE COMPANY WEB SITE IS A LIE! The Albertson's company web site shows that Non-Food purchases IS NOT ON THE LIST of eligibility requirements, while the in-store ad shows that Non-Food items are not eligible. The store Manager states that the company web site is wrong and he must abide by the in-store paper ad that went out to all the Albertson's stores. What an attitude! On a order of about ten items, two were overpriced to the tune of $8.00. When the error was pointed, the nearest employee went to check and came back and said we were wrong. Only upon seeing a photo of the posted price, would she give us the correct price. No apology for our inconvenience. Some stores compensate by offering the item in question for free. Ha, ha, that's a good one, right Albertsons? That would mean respecting the customer, something this store knows nothing about! I'll never shop there again! read more

Great garden variety grocery store. The bathrooms are usually clean and easy to access. The store is easy to navigate and I can usually find what I'm looking for. My favorite part is the sale section. The self check out is convenient. read more

Please stop selling pre packaged prepared sandwiches, these are totally gross and unsafe. My grandson had one today and had food poisoning a few hours later.... bad intestinal problems to say the least. As long as you have low food standards and sell prepared products I will do my shopping elsewhere. read more

This review is for the Ordering Online and Pick Up ! The parking lot is a little small and they only have two spaces for grocery pickup, both of which were taken by people shopping inside! Ha! I called the store and they apologized and told me to park anywhere and had me tell them my vehicle description and general row location. The associates promptly brought my order out in the pouring rain and had covered my items to keep the paper bags from getting wet. Very polite! All of my items were available except one specialty, seasonal item. My order was accurate and the service is so convenient. I had set my pickup for a certain time that I was unable to meet, but a quick call to the store and an associate reassured me they would keep my items chilled. Ordering online is easy and convenient because I can see what my total will be and coupons before paying. The associates were very friendly and my order was accurate. They took the time to ensure they chose fresh produce. Thank you, Albertsons!! For making my day just a bit easier. read more

We stopped by around 2pm on Thanksgiving and ran into quite a few problems... but they had what we needed (on sale!) and the employees seemed happy, so I guess it was an a-ok experience. My boyfriend has a pretty crazy (and long) Starbucks order, but he orders it pretty frequently and most Starbucks employees don't end up having to question him about it... and normally don't need him to repeat it three times. The guy making the beverage seemed to know more than the young woman who took the order, but that order still ended up taking WAY longer than it should have (at a Starbucks). The (grocery store) items we needed and a couple other items we decided we wanted were easy to find, so we didn't expect the mess we found in the self check-out area. When we walked up to the "convenient" self check-out machines, we found a customer standing and waiting for the missing attendant so he could show his ID for an alcohol purchase (even though the machine skipped that step). He eventually said "well, I tried!" and tried to finish his purchase... but the machine gave him only $5 back when he should have received $20. The customer left to try to find an employee/attendant and we ended up warning the next person and putting a box on the machine that we watched have two errors. When the attendant finally appeared and got the customer his $15, he removed the box so others could (try) to use the (problematic) machine. The next machine kept sensing an invisible object and wouldn't let us scan anything, so we moved on to a human cashier. The human cashier line was longer, but thankfully worked out for us. My boyfriend asked if they were getting paid double time for working on Thanksgiving morning/afternoon, and they responded "double time and a HALF!" They seemed really happy. I'm glad we were able to get the items we wanted/needed and that the employees seemed happy, but I prefer using self check-out machines, so I'm thankful that this isn't the grocery store close to my home. read more

This has always been my favorite place to shop until recently. I broke my ankle this summer and have found myself dependent on utilizing the electric scooters provided. Problem is 1. There are maybe just three at this location, they are not well maintained (dirty and grimy), if left out in the rain, no one will bother drying off the seats and there are no towels available for the customer to dry the seat off and you can't just sit in a puddle of water. On two occasions the available cart has died either in the store or in the parking lot behind my car. I recently went to Port Orchard Fred Meyer and they had a fleet of clean well maintained scooters plugged in and ready. I prefer not to drive all the way to Port Orchard to shop. Saturday morning I went in to Albertsons to shop and every handicapped stall was full so of course all three carts were being used. So no shopping for me and a wasted trip to town. Come on Management, details matter. A lot of handicapped and elderly need these carts to shop in your establishment. Thank goodness my condition isn't permanent. read more

I personally can't give you a review based on prices as for me that's all based on personal preferences and what someone is willing to spend, If you're shopping the discounted items and expecting it to be fresh then you're kind of funny but might as well go to walmart. If you want higher quality goods, then it's your choice where you shop. This store has great selections and every fresh department has the best food And every employee I've encountered are pretty friendly and only want to accommodate you. If they don't have something you're looking for they make it possible or give good suggestions. read more

I stopped going to Albertsons in Gig Harbor several years ago due to their terrible customer service. There is a lady that has worked there for many years with dark hair in the floral dept. Not only does she put bouquets together terribly, she has the WORST attitude everytime. But when you ask anyone for help they ALL are rude! However, this evening i had to go into that store because Target was closed. I cringed going in...i needed a magnifying glass and didnt know if Alebertsons carried them, and if they did where would they be? I asked a young boy and he went out of his way to look for it. And when we had no success he said, " do you mind waiting i will go ask the store manager." Though they didnt carry one, that boy was the best in giving excellent customer service. I hope the store manager reads this and commends him for being the best thing that store has as far as employees go. read more

Incredible customer service from the bakery department! I recently ordered a cake from a different location and it was horrible. The extremely kind Peggy reached out to me personally to try to fix the mistake by making us a completely new cake! Not only did she make a new cake, she made THREE cakes for me to choose from! I can not express how truly thankful I am, and how much this woman has exceeded my expectations. My boy loved his cake and we certainly got some great pictures! Not really sure what type of young generation that Albertsons is hiring but they're very rude and condescending to customers God for bid if you ask them a question. I guarantee you they didn't have this funky attitude during their interview to get a job at Albertson's. You give them a job but all of a sudden they have power and control. And management doesn't appear to handle the situation. This is not to say all the young kids but a good portion of the youngsters that are working at the store I don't even understand how they got a job there. There's only one young kid that I see they're so sweet he's always pushing the carts must be about 16 years old and he's very very sweet I don't know his name but he has blonde hair and he's so kind unlike his peers. Rude cashier clerks, they should not work customer service area they probably need to work in the warehouse where they can talk crap to the products and not the people. read more

Convenient location for me, and decent selection for this area. But I was very disappointed that they won't enforce mask mandates to comply with state requirements. Masks are "strongly recommended but not required or enforced" is what I was told by management. They have a duty to their staff and customers and they're not meeting it. In general both this Albertsons and the one near our other home in Vancouver have poor customer service in general. The produce is lower quality than other markets. The meats have improved since Safeway took over though. The pharmacy is great. The loss of self check sucks as check out is painfully slow. They have also had lots of turnover in staff so continuity is lacking. I had an interesting experience at the deli the other day. I walked up. Waited for a few minutes which was fine. They didn't have customers waiting other than me and they were busy chatting behind the counter. When I was finally addressed, I ordered two identical sandwiches... Italian subs. Easy, right? Nope! The person behind the counter looked at me (with that "you gotta be kidding me" look) and said would you like to order another sandwich? Huh? No, not really. ;o) "Well, if you want the sub, I will have to cut the meat and walk over to the bread isle to get hoagie rolls." It is a deli, you cut meats here, right? The bread isle in this store is right next to the deli... 20 steps away... hummmmm... funny I guess. Subways was next door, so I walked the 20 paces (a little more) and spent my money where they provide much better service. It was only sandwiches, not brain surgery so hardly worth getting upset. But boy, what a horrible experience. Even Costco has better customer service and they barely have any staff present on the floor! read more

I don't know how this store stays open. The quality of the produce is horrible, the prices are high, and they never have enough checkers working. Meanwhile, 2 or 3 employees stand by the self check doing nothing while everyone waits in long lines. At least half of the checkers and the people restocking were wearing their masks below their noses. Even with low expectations, somehow, this place still disappoints. I can only hope that Town and Country opens in this area. This store needs a complete overhaul and the Management needs to go. read more

This place & Safeway always over charge many people all the time "beware" They always adjust the charge, but really!!! Please don't buy more than a couple of items unless your going to Costco or Fred Meyer's the only no mistake stores left. I was in Albertson's yesterday to get their Tortilla store made chips to take to a party & they were marked 1.99 but after I got home the receipt said 3.99. If you shop there look at receipt before you leave store as that's how they make extra money. Watch how long it takes to add up your order as I believe the Cashier's pick & choose who to rip-off as a elderly lady in front of me said look these items are on sale and the Cashier push a button after the sale and said sorry.....Buyer beware in all Safeway & Albertson's Stores in WA... read more

This store is just horrible every time I am forced to run in to grab an item there is always a line. Their produce is terrible, prices are high, and staff is not properly trained. I feel sorry for most employees that work here you can tell they hate it and for the employees that have worked at this store for a while they need to learn what customer service means. Aside from a few friendly associates the women who check do not greet or acknowledge their customers. Tonight was the last time I step into that store I will drive to uptown. This grocery has really, really gone downhill. Just recently they "realigned" all their prices, according to the cashier, and by realigning it means they jacked up the prices on a LOT of common items. Loaves of bread went from 1.99 to SIX dollars a loaf. They then mark down certain types of bread of that type back down to the old regular price and call it a sale price. Of course, the loaf that is on sale is always sold out, as is almost every item that is on sale. The worst thing recently, old and expired food. For the past four visits, at least one item I've bought has been expired or past the "best used by" date. The first time, yogurt. I went to eat a yogurt the day after buying them and they had expired the week before. The second time, pastries. This past time, I had learned my lesson and checked all my bakery goods, fresh foods, meats, and dairy. The peanuts snuck right by me. Sure enough, I got home and cracked open my package of toffee peanuts only to find them somewhat mushy and soft. They had expired almost 3 months beforehand. Because of the mixture of all these ridiculous things, I don't recommend shopping here. The prices are too high, anything that is actually on sale is always sold out, and they don't check their stock for expiration dates or best by dates, allowing the consumer to purchase items that could possible make them very ill. As a side note that is really more of an extreme annoyance, they sell something called "pistachio muffins". At first, as a pistachio lover, these excited me and I was looking forward to the belly bomb of a Costco sized pistachio muffin for breakfast. Once I started eating it, I realized that it tasted like walnuts and almonds. It turns out, these "pistachio muffins" are poppy seed muffin mix, without the poppy seeds, and filled with walnuts. The "pistachio" comes from the green dye they add to the mix. Actual pistachio isn't listed anywhere near the ingredients list. Their "pistachio muffins" are walnut and almond flavored muffins dyed green. read more

We usually stop here for just a few things we need after a Costco, Target, or Home Depot run and I'm glad it's not our main store. It always feels a little dark and a little sparse. We usually come at night so there are never enough people checking out. Last time, there was one man working self check outs and a regular lane. For customers, if you're buying a bunch of booze, ice, and produce, just use the regular lane. You're not self check out material. Excellent beer selection, 2 Red Boxes, easy parking and self check outs that have a belt are pluses. read more

This Albertsons is the absolute worst. Every single time I have ever stopped there, there are very few checkout lines open and the customers are lined up into the aisles, blocking the shoppers. Isn't there a manager assigned to make sure things are flowing smoothly and there is enough help available? Someone needs to hire an effective manager and straighten the place out so it runs efficiently and customers aren't consistently frustrated:( read more

Albertsons has gone way down hill ever since being taken over by Cerberus Capital Markets in 2006. They never have enough checkers and baggers nor does management call up additional staff when the lines get long. They have also replaced a variety of brand goods with Albertsons brands that are not as good. Quite sad, the Gig Harbor store was a great store when it first opened. read more

I decided this evening that it would be silly to drive across Gig to Fred Meyer's (and deal with the traffic at Olympic) for four items, so I popped into this Albertsons instead. Of my four-item list, one item was on sale (bringing it down to only a buck more than FM's regular price), so -- as is often the case with sale items here -- they were out of it. There weren't actually that many other customers in the aisles for a Friday evening, but the lines waiting to check out up front were stretching several carts into the adjoining aisles and not moving very quickly. Maybe it was their computer system? I don't know. Anyway, it took about 20 minutes to get checked out with my handful of items. I really need to learn my lesson and quit thinking that closer is going to mean quicker. I expect things will change when the new Fred Meyer opens up in Gig, but I'm willing to bet Albertsons will just cut staff accordingly. No way would this store manage to compete if it weren't a couple of exits north of Fred Meyer and Main & Vine. (And Safeway, but they're under the same umbrella as Albertsons so have most of the same problems now.) read more

I do the majority of my grocery shopping at the Gig Harbor Albertsons because of the convenience of the location. On the plus side, the store has everything I need, including a great produce dept. and the availability of Beyond Burgers and Beyond Sausages. Last week, I called the manager and complained that four female employees were wearing masks but not covering their noses. Today one of those employees was wearing the mask properly. Thank you! On the negative side, the women's bathroom is gross and sorely in need of a remodel. The store did substantial remodeling recently when the bank left, but didn't improve the bathroom. It's gross and outdated. I'll change my review to 5 stars if and when that's taken care of. read more

What can you say: it's a pretty normal grocery store. The prices are fine and the selection is about the same as most other local stores. I come here now and then when I'm already nearby, but Haagen (formerly Safeway) is just closer to my house so I usually go there. read more

I made the mistake of going to Albertsons today(Sunday,April 26th). Only a few people were wearing masks, or wearing gloves and it was very difficult to do social distancing because people just ignored the rules. There are bright red markers on the floor, for social distancing, and it's as if the markers are invisible to many customers. The couple in line ahead of me were totally unaware of any rules. The woman coughed several times without covering her mouth. She then touched the credit card machine, the conveyer belt and candy bars ( she had to touch several candy bars because she couldn't decide which she wanted). The checker didn't wipe down the conveyer belt even though it was coughed on and touched repeatedly by that woman. There didn't seem to be anyone watching to make the store is safe for the customers and employees. I am a senior and have a husband with a compromised immune system so I usually shop during senior hours. I will not venture out during the regular hours again. My bad! In the past, I had great experiences at Albertsons ,with an on-line pick up and also the day I went during senior hours. So, in the future, I will be sure not to venture out unless it's during senior hours. I feel badly for the grocery workers who are putting their lives on the line to be sure we have what we need. The very least we, the public, can do is to be considerate of them and do what we are supposed to do to keep them and their family members safe. read more

I hate everything about this albertsons, especially the fact that it is the closest store to my house. The parking is horrible for starters. They are always out of one of the things I need. The worst thing is that they never have enough cashiers. They expect people to do self check out or stand in a mile long line (sometimes that line is just as long for the self check out as well). If they want me to check out my own groceries then I feel they should lower their prices when in actuality their prices are higher then other grocery stores in Gig Harbor. I am a 47 year old man and I attempted to use the self check out. I apparently did not ring up my steaks correctly. The steaks had 30% off peel off type coupons on them and Joni the attendant there was extremely rude as she removed all three of my steaks out of the bag slamming them back on the scanner. I jokingly make a comment that I am sorry and I should have used the check stands instead, she replies " No, if you wouldn't of pulled the coupons off the steak i wouldn't be having to void all 3 of these transactions" ummm ok so she corrects the error and I continue to scan my items. I now have a bag of 4 ears of corn and I am not sure how to scan these? So I say excuse me and she yells back 4744 which I guess is a produce code for corn, who would have known that besides the checker. I punch in the numbers and it asked quantity now I know I have 4 but so as not to make a mistake I kindly ask her how many and she says " Umm you have 4 dont ya" well ok now that I feel like an asshole! Thanks Joni for making me feel so great about shopping at Albertson's. Next time I am going to the new Fred Meyer always very friendly just a bit further drive for me! read more

Overall I'm very disappointed with this store. It's the closest major grocery store to my house, but I usually drive across town to the Fred Meyer which has a better selection and better service. Albertson's has a very limited selection of environmentally friendly products, the regularly don't have any wild caught fish available, only farmed, don't carry free range chicken, the list goes on and on. Plus their staff always seem busy and tired. About the only positive I have for them is their beer selection. read more

I got shoulder checked by an old man in the pet food isle and got told by management they don't have cameras down that isle and they did nothing. Being assaulted at Albertsons didn't seem a big deal. If I can't feel safe there I won't shop there read more

They have a great sushi selection! And it is really fresh, great ingredients. Better than going to a sushi bar.
