Albertsons near UC Irvine is way more than just your average grocery store--it's practically an extension of campus life. The moment you walk in, you'll notice the UC Irvine spirit woven into the layout, with Anteater colors and a vibe that clearly caters to the student and international community nearby. One of the standout features is the surprisingly wide selection of international foods. Whether you're craving Korean ramen, Japanese snacks, or ingredients for a legit Indian curry night, they've got a solid variety that reflects the diversity of the area. It's one of the few grocery stores where I've actually discovered new items I wanted to try--definitely not your average suburban food lineup. The staff? Incredibly helpful. I called in a big phone order once, and they had it packed and ready, no fuss. You can also place large orders online (keyword: large), which is clutch if you're prepping for a party, dorm event, or just want to avoid wandering the aisles with a basket full of tofu and LaCroix. Bonus: There's a Starbucks right inside with a really nice, clean seating area. Great if you want to sip a cold brew and answer emails or just decompress before heading home. The whole shopping center is super clean and well-kept too--easy parking, good lighting, and not sketchy at night. One star off only because it can get crowded during peak school hours, but honestly, it's probably because this place just does it right.

Returned to this Albertsons after avoiding, due to convenient location. So about 1/3 of my online order required substitution. Here is the kicker... you "approve" a substitution offered but it nullifies a deal (e.g., 3 for $10.00) and you pay full retail for both. This is unfair business practice if I ever saw one.

Lol this is random, but passed by this albertsons to get some tonic water and it has that viral water HAHAHA. Good marketing. The staff is nice. It gets busy and good stuff runs out fast so expect lines because of all the students.

Shoutout Tony! He took time out of this day to help me and my friend pick out some good flowers for prom and I would not have been able to take some of these wonderful pictures without any help. I truly did not expect anything coming to a random Albertsons in Irvine and frankly, we were going to give up and search elsewhere until Tony came up to us asked if we needed help and help this work something out. He was patient sharing and offering that advice which I truly appreciated- and this was easily the best customer service I've ever gotten at a grocery store, sothank you, Tony.

There is a bakery and food court located inside, and they also have an art box where you can find all the cute Korean stationary and knickknacks. They have so much inventory, and much like the other locations they're placed everywhere which can either make your shopping convenient or difficult lol I will say that they have a pretty good premade food section and towards the end of the night when things go on sale, they mark things down at 50% as opposed to other locations where they do the buy one get one free. They keep all of their hot food in a dedicated warming cabinet, and you can commonly find some great cooked, ready to eat fish there. It's also located right in between a Ross and a Marshalls so that might be a bonus if you're prone to browse those stores like I am lol Also, I want to mention that their customer service is always on point when it comes to their cashiers. During my recent visit, I purchased cookies that were deceivingly named Ktown bake shop, and they looked delicious, but once I got them home, I tried one and it was so stale that I had to bring them back, and even though I had opened them when I explained to them that they were near in edible they happily granted my refund. Pro tip: nowadays everything's titled as if it's made in Korea, but, always check. The cookies that I bought were in fact, not made in Korea or a product of Korea, which I believe is why they were so subpar.

The prices are definitely higher than many other markets, but the quality has always been pretty solid. One of the main reasons I come here is for the Korean beef short ribs. Every time I've bought them, they've been fresh and looked great. The only downside for me is the parking lot. Finding a spot can be a challenge depending on the time of day. Other than that, most of the products here, from frozen foods to kimchi and other groceries, have been consistently fresh. The store is clean, well organized, and doesn't have that strong market smell that some grocery stores can have. Everything is laid out in a way that's easy to find, which makes shopping a little more convenient. The staff isn't especially friendly, but they do their job and I've never had any issues.

I was a little bummed they didn't have Riesling or Moscato (I'm into sweet wines ), but they did have Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. There's also rosé and red, plus a pretty big beer selection on tap . I ordered sushi and a salmon bowl from the Japanese bar , and my girlfriend got the hummus plate . The staff brought my food over so we could still sit and eat together even though we ordered from different counters. Super convenient! The food was about 3.5/5 --not bad, but not amazing either. What really made the visit worth it was the service--five stars all the way . Friendly, fast, and super accommodating. Atmosphere was another win: clean, bright, and relaxing . It wasn't too crowded around 5 PM, and there's a TV if you want to catch a game . Not sure how it is during sports season, but it felt really chill during our visit. Pricing is affordable--most wines by the glass are around $12-$14, which is reasonable for the area. Parking is easy , and it's the perfect spot to catch up with friends. We especially loved that everyone could order separately and still hang out together--no awkward bill-splitting. Plus, you can grab groceries on your way out . Super convenient!
