5 stars, highest rating I can give, based solely on the frozen pizza selection. It's a whole entire aisle. Had I known a) the location and b) how to use the oven they must surely have in their deli section, I would have declared "I claim this in the name of me!" ala Christopher Columbus. But, I restrained myself, bought one pizza and exited with minimal spazzing. 5 stars to myself on that self control. read more

This is my favorite Albertsons! This is the closest one to home for me right now and I love going there for the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies(purple bag), which I have loved for years and have always made the trip to the store for them no matter where I've lived, however this review is not just because of the cookies. I'm writing this review for the manager, Anthony Zamudio. He is a perfect example of what truly exceptional service should be like everywhere. I've gone there a number of times since the COVID-19 pandemic hit so I doubt he would remember me since I've gone with a mask on but two times in particular now he's helped me with two separate WIC transactions and was very kind and understanding. Shopping anywhere and checking out with a WIC transaction is usually frustrating because it's time consuming and there is almost always an issue with an item at checkout or something. Both occasions that I'm referring to, he's taken the time to explain the issue and offered a resolution without making me feel like an inconvenience or like I'm taking up precious time, like I've experienced at other stores. And he's done this with a friendly smile and just a great attitude. I've left the store so happy that I learned something new and that I experienced such wonderful service. I glanced at his name tag yesterday so I could remember who he was and give him some positive feedback, especially throughout these past couple of months when the grocery stores have been pretty hectic, I just want to say he is doing a fantastic job! Blake assisted me in the grocery aisle. He helped me snag the last of the stocked item that I came to Albertsons for. He even went as far as to go to the back and grab a step ladder so he could reach it for me. He was extremely nice and went the extra mile to make sure I left with what I came for. read more

Love this Albertsons! Store is always clean and fully stocked. I've never had any problems with bad produce like some other stores

I am torn. I love shopping here, but due to recent experiences I'm a pretty disappointed. First issue is that I often find things out of date there. I always notify someone and they get it fixed immediately and are very apologetic. Bottom line is it should not be happening. Some people don't even check their dates and must be really disappointed when they discover the expiration date at home or even worse get sick and have no idea why. Second issue, which is why I'm Yelping today is that one of their butchers lied to me in order to try to get me to buy his product instead of looking elsewhere and then he treated me like a snob and rolled his eyes at me. He was a medium build Caucasian man with glasses and a "weathered" looking nose. Mid 40s to mid 50s. I describe him in detail so that he will not be confused with a slender gentleman with a mustache who is always pleasant and helpful. I came in looking for wild caught domestic jumbo shrimp. I asked him where his shrimp were from, and he could not tell me. I told him I did not want anything from overseas, especially China due to their seafood farming practices. The butcher scoffed at me and rolled his eyes. He then informed me, as if I am a stupid woman, that I would not find what I am looking for anywhere since the BP oil spill. I told him I highly doubt it and again he told me I am wrong and even interrupted me. He suggested I buy the bagged jumbo frozen shrimp. I told him several times no thank you. Bottom line is that he made me feel stupid and I knew he was lying, or at the very least ill informed. Interrupting a customer and rolling eyes and perhaps even being sexist (I got the feeling he would not speak this way to a man) is not the way to gain business. This Palm Desert Albertson's location is saved however by most of the other employees there. I love all the cashiers and the bakery people as well. I just could do without the bad attitude, know it all butcher and the out of date food. I was in on Wednesday 2/24 or Tuesday 2/23. I am unable to find my receipt. Just to give you an idea, I have spent almost $600 on food there this month. Probably going to opt to go across the street to Ralph's for a while. read more

They have such great deli service. I called to place a order for fried chicken on short notice and it was a Holliday weekend the gentleman on the phone very upbeat nice and informative...Even when we went to pick up the food still very nice and the chicken taste great. I used to only come to this store to use the bank, and I normally shopped at other supermarkets. But I decided to give Albertson's a shot because the other local supermarkets have been consistently letting me down in terms of their produce and meat departments. I wish I knew about this place a long time ago! The produce section has been very well stocked with really fresh products so far, and the meat department is fairly well stocked but has not had what I was looking for a few times. Not a deal breaker at all, just a slight bummer. Overall, I really like to shop here and their prices are pretty good. read more

This store is so poorly managed. I hate giving a bad review, but I have to speak up about this one. I have been coming to this store off and on for about 7 years. It is generally clean, and rarely crowded. That is, with the exception of the checkout lanes. Every single time I come into this location, there is a minimum 5-8 minute wait in the line. Minimum. I have waited up to 15 minutes, and that's not a fluke, it has happened multiple times. Today was the last straw for me. 5:30 pm. Not very many shoppers in the store. I got a couple of everyday items, and went to check out. I literally have never seen lines like this outside of Disneyland. 2 regular lines open. 10 plus shoppers deep at each waiting. One "express " line open. 10 more shoppers deep at it. I walked out, for the last time, disgusted. I don't know where they hide the employees at this place, but I bet they are laughing behind the scenes. It would be comical, if it wasn't so crappy. This is how this place is managed. 3 checkers for 30 + shoppers. Not a manager in sight. Again, this was a tad exteme, but in no way a fluke. I'm not sure why they haven't remedied this. This is a major market Albertsons on one of the busiest streets in the desert. I can only assume they don't care if they get your business or not. Well, they finally lost me, and if you value your time, avoid this location. Again, I hate to leave a negative review, but people need to know, and I don't think the management of this store will care anyhow, given my numerous negative experiences. read more

I had the worst shopping experience I have ever had last night. The store it's self was in ok condition. Shelves needed to be cleaned under and between isles. Most of then items I went for were out of stock (not sure when they stock shelves). It was during my check out that our Cashier Janos was a complete JERK!. I've used coupons at this store many times before, but never again will I shop here after last night. He insulted me by insinuating that I stole my coupons. His exact words were "I've never seen someone with so many coupons before, it just makes me question wether I should accept them" so he called his manager (mind you this guys tag said he was a Produce Supervisor). I only had 13 coupons with me and none of my items were going to be free. I told him he was very rude and must not be having a good day, and was very sarcastic saying "well, you are the only one who feels that way". The cashier behind us was also rude. We over heard her say "If I seen someone bag my stuff, I sure would be Pissed when I got home" (to her bagger!!!!) I've seriously never heard anyone sound so unprofessional in my LIFE! I don't know if there every will be a next time, but if I don't have any other option, I will drive to the next Albertson's around. read more

Very clean store, nice staff. Only problem is I went in 7/14/17 and the eggs had an expiration for 6/30/17 gross! And not to mention their salad kits and baby food were expired too. read more
