There's going to be a first for a lot of things as I like to check new places and location out. This location, even though it's just off the main strip didn't seemed crazy crowded. Of course as most places in the desert, there's also loads of parking. Another location that's part of a mini strip mall. Plenty of parking and quite maintained with the traffic. I maybe eat my words later on depending on day and time of next visit....lol... Of course at the entrance, a nice little area with all the potted plants. There was a good amount compared to the other locations I've been too. Not sure but I think all the locations get new shipments with plants quite often. The store itself is a pretty decent size and the isle is pretty wide so it makes it easier maneuvering with other shoppers and the carts. Everything that I came for were all in stocked which is great. Didn't have to ask any of the sales associates if anything was in the back. Layout is pretty much similar to all the other stores give or take its reverse when you walk in. Overall, another great location with everything is stocked. As other reviews have mentioned, this may be the only Trader Joe's in the universe with great parking! It's in a larger shopping center, which explains the easy access. Otherwise, you'll find all your favorite TJ's products, reasonable pricing, and friendly service. It's great for travelers staying in the area (such as me) who'd like to stock up on essentials for their kitchenette. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Trader Joe's is such an iconic store that we always try to make it a stop wherever we travel. This store was neatly arranged in a new location that we hadn't visited before but convenient to El Paseo and some Palm Springs attractions like the living desert. We came in to stock up on supplies for lunch and happily found fresh produce lots of low sodium luncheon meat and snacks for the road. They were also giving out samples of pumpkin ice cream, and I'm a sucker for a pumpkin any pumpkin product. They have makes me happy. I've tried their wonderful pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cake, pumpkin donut holes, and the pumpkin ice cream was probably the best treat of all! I also wound up getting two more of the tiny trick-or-treat bags for three dollars each, which make great gift bags this time of year ! We will return time and time again to Trader Joe's for reliable, delicious fresh and innovative food ! read more

If there's not a TJ's in the neighborhood, I don't want to live there. My family would starve. Best of everything. From produce to premade meals on to dessert. This is my favorite Trader Joe's in the valley. EVERYONE IS NICE to you at this one, especially compared to La Quinta and the Cathedral City locations, where the customer service can be hit and miss. I had been years since I shopped at the Palm Desert Trader Joe's store. I was struck by how generally unfriendly the staff was when I visited. No one smiled. No one said hello. Even during those occasions wherein you have to pass an employee in close proximity due to aisle congestion, mostly the employees there just pretended they didn't see me. "In the old days," the Trader Joe's employees would naturally and graciously greet you, and smile at you. It was fund to shop there; like visiting an old friend. Often, the employees might even ask if you needed assistance. There is an obvious change in affect amongst the employees at Trader Joe's Palm Desert. It's not favorable, at least at the Palm Desert location. Upon checking out, a clerk named "Rikki" actually ordered me around in a degrading manner, as if I was his subordinate, as I was trying to assist him bagging my groceries. He was impatient and had a condescending and unnecessary air of authority. I felt a bit abused. I'll stick to shopping at the La Quinta location; they're a bit friendlier there- read more

*Best TJ's Team in the Desert* Been coming to this location ever since they opened...and like a bottle of fine wine, they keep getting better & better all the time. And every time I'm in the desert, I look forward to being here and embrace the chore of grocery shopping. The awesome store Manager, Carlos is so cool and has an outstanding & friendly crew and EVERY team member is so helpful & kind it's contagious. Special shout-out to Gene, who went above & beyond with my recent special request for Persimmons. And Gabrielle is so sweet & kind she blows my mind. This store isn't nearly as large as dozens of the other TJ's I shop at & visit throughout the region...but this location seems to always have what I want & need. Their layout suits me just fine and most of the aisles are nice & wide. Some sections can get a bit congested during peak hours & season, but the customers are usually nice & courteous when it comes to maneuvering your cart & self. IMO TJ's is the best bang for the buck...and I'm so pleased they carry a wide variety of organic produce (fresh & frozen) and lots of other organic items too. I'm very picky with pre made/prepackaged foods but they have a few items I like & rely on. Their fresh & frozen desserts and treats are pretty-pretty-pretty good too as well as their bakery goods. And their flowers, roses, plants, orchids (and Poinsettias during the holidays) are all beautiful & very reasonably priced. Located in a nice strip mall. Parking is never an issue (at least for me) no matter how busy they are...and one of my favorite things to do is go to Fisherman's, that's next-door, place an order for takeout, then go to TJ's for a quick shopping spree. And the occasional dine-in then go to TJ's afterwards ~ because it's always best to shop on a full tummy :) TJ's can't be beat...and this location is oh so sweet...never defeats...and a grandslam homerun. read more

My new favorite Trader Joe's, with ample parking, it has the added benefit of being located by Paradise Café and a Michael's, places I visit frequently. This location seems roomier than the other Trader Joe's. My favorite grocery chain, they have great cheeses, salsas, and a small selection of liquors. Best TJ's in the valley, the one in La Quinta has an angry rich soccer mom vibe but this one is chill and the employees are awesome.

Came here our first night in town to get the essentials (beer, wine, snacks and chocolate). Was happy to find the gummy bear lip gloss as I have not been able to find it where I live. I picked coming here over going to Total Wines & More just for that reason. The staff were all super nice and the store was not super crowded. It was clean and fairly well stocked. We were able to find most of what we wanted. When we inquired about an item they looked for us, told us they did not have it but gave when it was expected to arrive which was so kind but we were just visiting town. This is in a parking lot near a Michael's and other businesses. Trader Joe's sign is not lit so it was a little hard to find not being from the area and it being dark. Would come here again if in town. read more

This is a good Trader Joes. I shop early as the parking lot is shared with other businesses and can get busy as the day progresses. They have all of the products that I love at great prices. Palm Desert is expensive. Jensen's, Sprout's, Whole Foods, etc. add up quickly. Trader Joes is on par with many of their offerings, but at a price that doesn't break the bank. read more

I really love this store. In fact I think I'm here 5 days a week. The place is always kept clean. The staff are all very friendly. The shelves are constantly being kept neat and orderly. It is a small store and doesn't carry everything I need, but they are so efficient and carry plenty of items. You find many store brand items here. I especially love their frozen section. This is a great TJ's with a unique feature that I haven't found anywhere else ... ample and easy parking (It's true!) Aside from that, they have all the TJ favorites, with semi-wide aisles and uber friendly service. I have been here many times and they are consistently consistent! I love that TJ's carries all time favorites (too many to list), cool items I discover on a regular basis (a good number of vegetarian and vegan items) and seasonal newbies (cacti in pumpkin pots, microwave popcorn on the cob). There was a lady manning the sample booth at Trader Joes, in El Paseo today, June 11, 2025. She was busy talking to another lady, so reached over and took a sample and she rolled her eyes and snapped at me, " You had to go and do that!" I apologized and put the sample down. Then she said, rudely, you already touched it so take it. She upset me so much that I took the sample, threw it in the trash and went to the check out. Since when, do trader Joes employees treat customers this way? I felt humiliated, like I just had my hand slapped for doing something wrong. I shouldn't have just taken a sample, but she was busy. She humiliated me. I'm 65 years old and felt like a stupid little child. If the manager is out there, reading this, please know that I have been a loyal Trader Joe's customer for many years. I've always adored trader joes and the awesome customer service, but not today. Will a manager or corporate even respond to my review? I love TJ's and been going to it since early 1980's in Pasadena. I have always found the culture to breed happy people who seem to enjoy their job and the guests they serve. When I am in Palm Desert at our second home, I find it almost depressing to go to this location. I have wanted to ask several times, 'do you enjoy your job'? The staff is curt, not welcoming, generally minimal greeting if at all and never seem to say thanks for coming in. It surprises me as we all know service comes from the leadership. So I can only surmise, since it is the normal at this location that they don't care. Still love all the food items, just simply don't understand why it is so bad at this location. read more

This is my local Trader Joe's and I've been here too many times to count. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and they all really seem like they enjoy each other and the job. Every time I check out, whoever is at the register each time offers comments about items I'm buying that they love, or makes very pleasant small talk with me, making my check out experience quick and kind. The reason I'm coming in to write this review is because today I came by and purchased a ton of things. When I got home, I realized that I did not have a particular item, and I figured I must have forgotten it in the bottom of my basket. I called in, spoke with Cindy, and she was able to help me get my item with no problems. I appreciate her willingness to help, and it just speaks to how incredibly kind and wonderful the staff here are. I really love this store! There's a certain vibe about Trader Joe's that makes me want to buy everything!!! Their marketing and packaging is just so clever and cool, it makes me vulnerable to impulse buys. They were having a weekend extravaganza this weekend celebrating their 50th anniversary. Spreading the joy with free reusable bags and face painting and more free samples! They're always friendly polite and treat you like a human being here. My only beef is that the stockers are often not very helpful. They kind of push you out of the way and give you a dirty look because they are under laser focus pressure to stock the shelves. They're more concerned about stocking than they are about customer service. That's true about half of them the other half are great! I would like to see more variety in their wine section. More global boutique, estate, and unusual wines like tannat, assyrtico, barbera, dolcetto, organic and biodynamic winery wines. read more

This is my favorite TJ's in the valley. It's a big store and is always well stocked. The employees are friendly and always plenty of help to get you through the store expeditiously. My TJ favorites are: multigrain pita crisps, solid white albacore tuna, crunchy salted peanut butter, sparkling waters, and the humus with pine nuts. I love Trader Joe's but this one is truly the best. They have the biggest variety of items out of all the trader joes nearby and amazing employees. I came in here with my 2 year old who was throwing a tantrum and the employees helped me by giving him stickers and even helping me to my car, loading my groceries for me and even picked up the toys off the ground that my toddler threw at me lol. I was blown away by their kindness and help and even though this trader joes is out of my way I will be coming here to do my grocery shopping from now on. read more

I love Trader Joe's !! Always clean, friendly staff, and great yummy food choices. However since Covid, I mean it's been 10 months now, I would hope that the supplies would be more available. We go food shopping at night to avoid crowds and most items are always out of stock and they always say, shipment coming tomorrow. Ugh. The layout for this location is so incredibly backwards to me & throws me off when shopping - I didn't find it an enjoyable experience at all which is half the fun when shopping at TJs. My experience with this particular Trader Joe's is amazing- I locked my keys with purse and food plus the dog , in my car. Fortunately: it was not that hot.. however- the manager helped me call AAA and was so patient ( pushing the prompts for me behind the counter) .. truth is- he was so helpful and kind! They have a few staple items my family enjoys that we keep returning for as well as new items that come out every month. Thinking its such a big company and filing a compliant on their website clearly no body cares about a little insect inside their "fresh food" . Aside from that, this didn't happen once to me and I would like my community to watch out for maggots or flys inside their salads at Traders. Don't get me wrong I love going to Trader Joe's for lunch almost everyday. But this has to come to a stop and manufactures have to keep their eyes more open before sending product out. About three months ago I was grabbing a single serve salad for lunch, mind you I like looking inside the container for wilted lettuce. At the time I saw a dead fly inside the container and gave it to the worker to take it off the shelf. This time around I grabbed two big bags to share at work. Literally only took two bites until I noticed a stick figure thinking "oh its probably just a piece of broken crouton", poked it with my finger nail and felt it squishy and literally got off my chair and spit out whatever I had left. My my coworker and I threw the salad away before even enjoying it thankfully. Thankful for noticing that before eating my whole plate and defeated getting sick but not so happy with how many more times this could keep happening and no one doing anything about it. Like how many times do people actually look down on their fork before eating whatever they grabbed?? Super rare when you're starving right ?!!!! This store in Palm Desert is more spacious than the one in Cat City, and has especially helpful employees. I love Trader Joe's large selection of fresh, low-priced nuts. If nuts are part of your diet you're "nuts" to buy them at most supermarkets, where they're usually both pricey and a little stale or rancid - I mean at typical supermarkets. Perhaps at the warehouse chains like Costco you can find comparable prices/freshness; I don't shop at them so don't know. I like to get mine at the Palm Desert store - their turnover of nuts seems to be higher, ensuring they're even more fresh. read more

I could not love a store more! What sets them apart are the staff! Yesterday, I was there in line and a woman in front of me couldn't pay her bill for whatever reason. Gene (I believe the manager) just took care of her few items and told her the love of God just by being who he is. He told her some other things as he broke the barrier and gave her a hug and comforted her. This is why I love this store! I could go on and on about how impactful this was to witness! Such a kind heart, you all are so blessed to have this man working for you. His compassion for this woman he does not know and sharing that he's been in that position before made her feel understood and valued! Good job!
