    Matcha Jelly Coffee Latte
    Vince L.

This review is for their cafe. While walking on Abbott Kinney, we stumbled across an A-Board sign with a picture of a delicious looking matcha latte, so we gave it a try. We ordered 2 matcha lattes (which looked NOTHING like the picture) and a matcha jelly coffee latte. Fair warning...these are not sweetened. (At least it didn't seem like it) We didn't like the matcha lattes at all, and the matcha jelly drink is just a regular iced latte with some matcha flavored jelly. The matcha jelly is a cool concept, but definitely not worth the $15 they charge. Huge disappointment.

Me and a friend came here for a special pop up shop they were having for Coachella! It was very nice! They collaborated with Shop Pickle to prep everyone for the upcoming festival season. This was really cool as you could browse around and shop different brands and see the amazing skin care they have for sale. The ambiance was just beautiful and bright and the service was amazing. All the ladies working there were so sweet and helpful! It also doubles as a cafe which has an adorable outside patio as well. It's located right on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice and if you're in the area it's worth dropping by. This was a free to the public pop up shop that was advertised on their Instagram @shoppickle @albion_garden

Wonderful strawberry matcha and lightly toasted milk bread with butter and jam! What a breakfast!

Christina was amazing & the matcha was excellent. Thank you so much for all the great service

*This review is for beauty service, not the café I've known Albion for their innovative skincare products, so I was thrilled to hear they opened a flagship store on Abbot Kinney. I'm a huge fan of their Skin Conditioner (toner), and when I found out they also offer facials in a private treatment room, I knew I had to try one! My facialist was incredibly friendly and detail-oriented, from checking my skin's moisture levels to explaining each product she used. The facial itself was gentle, thorough, and deeply relaxing--definitely one of the best I've had. My skin felt plump and super hydrated for days afterward!

I'm rating Albion as a cafe, not for their beauty / yoga / shop offerings. We came here for breakfast on the weekend. The store is in a converted home and it has a cool, funky vibe. Feels almost like a diner? There's a patio in the back to sit in plus another room that's maybe an artist studio? It's open to sit in unless being used. Decent for working in because it's quiet. Their coffee maker was broken - bummer. We got a matcha latte and it was quite good. A richer, less sweet taste than I'm used to. I also got a croissant (they sell Baked Bar good). Baked Bar is very tasty but I think my croissant was a day or two old...not the best. If I were to do it again I'd get the Japanese egg salad sandwich. Service was top notch. Very friendly. All in all I'd try again. I don't think I got the full experience since the coffee maker was down and I picked the wrong food item. I can tell this place has potential to be great!! Thank you Albion

Beautiful place, amazing vibes, and great quality matcha. I have been on the hunt for some good matcha cheesecakes and Albion Garden did not disappoint. The cheesecake was very creamy with a smooth texture. An emerald green color and most importantly you can taste the high quality of matcha. Highly recommend this lovely place.

There's a lot going on in here, but that's very fitting for Abbott Kinney. Stopped in for a little caffeine fix. They have a full coffee bar that also offers grab-and-go food. We keep coming back for the coffee and the service is amazing. I think this place is a skincare store and spa first. They have a ton of skin care products on the opposite side of the coffee shop part and offer spa services. Is you keep walking back there's a small garden and sitting area. Then in the back building there's always a new pop-up shop. The last two times we've been in the shop has been upscale clothing. Just like most people who find themselves wandering around Abbott Kinney, this place is just trying to find its way, while having multiple jobs just trying to survive in LA, but somehow makes it all work. Keep hustling Albion, you got this!

Matcha jelly is my new fav thing!! I got it with no extra matcha just the matcha jelly because I was worried it might be too much caffeine. This place is spectacular with a beauty shop, spa, event space, food and coffee! All the staff members are so kind and sweet! I definitely will be back for their lunch menu and a facial!

Had high hopes for their matcha as they have a sign saying they having the "finest matcha from uji, kyoto". I go in and great customer service but my matcha was not great and not even good, I only taste oat milk :/ It's as if they just put powder on the bottom of the cup and put milk in it. If you're a matcha lover you'll understand the pain haha It's just not worth the $7

Cute quaint little matcha shop serving coffee, lattes, real matcha jelly drinks and an assortment of Japanese ice cream sodas. Matcha is from Uji, Kyoto and not the powdered type it's the real deal matcha. A must try for any matcha connoisseurs. Plus they have sushi and a number of Japanese snacks. Very cute area in the back to chill out on mats and in the shady patio. There is also an Albion cosmetics area inside that is very nice with a peaceful tranquil treatment room. Very nice Japanese owner as well too. Hidden gem at the end of Abbott Kinney. They also have coffee too.

    Sushi special

The service was so great! The ladies outside were very respectfully trying to lure people in with a 50% off sushi special... and it worked! They were so friendly and helped with all the recommendations and even got me a little baggy of ice when they saw I was taking it away. The bowl ended up being only $7. It was good for the price, but I wish the rice was separate and the dill wasn't my favorite. There was a decent amount of salmon though!

    Strawberry cream soda

I highly recommend this place! The strawberry cream soda is amazing -- it tastes just like Japan. I also LOVED the small shelf with pottery from Mashiko and the skincare products being sold. Staff is so friendly and there is plenty of seating. I'm eager to come back and try the onigiri and egg sando!!

Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

Whether you're shopping for yourself or looking for something fun for someone else, chances are you'll walk out with something. The staff has always been friendly during my visits, and while the store can get pretty busy at times, the overall experience is still enjoyable. Prices are fairly decent for the area which is definitely a plus. If you happen to be in Little Tokyo and enjoy browsing cute or quirky shops, I'd definitely recommend stopping by--it's worth the visit!

Every time I come here I always end up spending a couple hundred for big hauls because I want everything haha, but prices aren't bad at all. They also suggested buying these Japanese cough drops since I was headed to a concert (which - good looking out! was absolutely needed and helpful). They even checked the ingredients in Japanese to make sure that I wouldn't have any allergic reactions which was so sweet! Service has been consistently great every time that I've visited here. This last time I went was super early on a weekday though, so wasn't busy at all. It was shortly after they opened because I happened to have an appointment in the area and needed some beauty products for a trip. They were great with answering all of my beauty questions! The only con may be parking when it's busy or later in the day. I've tried coming here at night before but struggled to find parking when the lot was full and there weren't any spots on the street nearby. We were interested in stopping because it was our first time there and wanted to see it, however, we only had approximately one hour to explore. The shopping center wasn't too busy yet since it was so early, but also most all of the stores were closed as well. We did not get the complete experience of everything that this mall offers. A couple of bakeries were open when we visited and I am glad that we stopped! They allowed us to get some sweet treats and pastries, and they actually became one of the highlights of our trip to Little Tokyo! Although some of the stores weren't opened yet, it was great just to explore the area! All of the storefronts at the mall and surrounding Plaza were decorated for the holiday season. This brought an extra layer of charm to the shopping trip and helped create a cozy, festive ambiance! The quietness of the early morning hours created a amazing environment for us to walk through and enjoy our short little excursion to this beautiful shopping center! I've seen Anime Jungle evolve and take over the entirety of the underground mall area. RIP to Fairytale Boutique, Fickle Wish, Xenon, and the day and age where Anime Jungle had their own dedicated shop for visual kei and J-rock. Never forget what you've lost. Other businesses have come and gone, like the mochi ice cream place. If you ever get mochi ice cream at the supermarket, it's likely from them and the macaron place that I loved, but alas, tis the world we live in. Other than the Anime Jungle that I go to and Little Akihabara LA for their pop ups and events, I also go to Monkey Pants, sometimes I swing into the Sanrio shop (they usually do the character meet and greets here, if not at JapanLA or somewhere egregiously far), Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle (they got staff POSTED there due to the thefts I'm sure, but I've gotten my bearded dragon keychain here and now I have them in all sizes), Catch (located on the 3rd floor and is MASSIVE for blind boxes and other goods), Neko Stop (I've gotten better deals here than the location in the Santa Anita Mall), and I've stopped in the Nijiya when I've been trapped there to get snacks or some bottled tea. Love the bakery there and the meat buns that they have (despite prices constantly rising due to the capitalist hellscape we live in) and the cafe to get affordable savory dango and takoyaki. The okonomiyaki place is one of the best, if not only places to get okonomiyaki at a place dedicated to the dish. Once in awhile they do a collab with multiple restaurants, not just at the mall too, such as Silent Hill F, Reincarnated into a Slime, during AX, Arknights, etc. Really drives the crowds and businesses here which is nice. Parking at the structure is a bit pricy and can get super fisted with bad drivers though, so keep that in mind.
