I arrived a little hungry, so I grabbed a spicy tuna onigiri and a strawberry matcha from the café before my appointment--both were delicious. My skincare specialist was incredible. The facial was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep twice! Her touch was unbelievably gentle, and she worked the products into my skin so effortlessly that the entire experience felt like a face massage. I left feeling refreshed, pampered, and with a few skincare products to take home. Honestly, I'd stop by again just for the café alone, but the spa experience made it even more special. Came here for a pop-up with kintsugi! It's a beautiful space and everyone here was lovely. The workshop included onigiri and a drink from the cafe menu. The tuna onigiri was alright, but the chicken one was addicting. So much more flavorful. I also tried the cream soda in the strawberry flavor and it was AMAZING on a hot day of walking around. I was probably annoying everyone in the workshop by sipping on it every few seconds. We previewed some of the skincare and makeup there. I definitely want to try a a facial here sometime! read more

This review is for their cafe. While walking on Abbott Kinney, we stumbled across an A-Board sign with a picture of a delicious looking matcha latte, so we gave it a try. We ordered 2 matcha lattes (which looked NOTHING like the picture) and a matcha jelly coffee latte. Fair warning...these are not sweetened. (At least it didn't seem like it) We didn't like the matcha lattes at all, and the matcha jelly drink is just a regular iced latte with some matcha flavored jelly. The matcha jelly is a cool concept, but definitely not worth the $15 they charge. Huge disappointment. read more

Me and a friend came here for a special pop up shop they were having for Coachella! It was very nice! They collaborated with Shop Pickle to prep everyone for the upcoming festival season. This was really cool as you could browse around and shop different brands and see the amazing skin care they have for sale. The ambiance was just beautiful and bright and the service was amazing. All the ladies working there were so sweet and helpful! It also doubles as a cafe which has an adorable outside patio as well. It's located right on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice and if you're in the area it's worth dropping by. I'm rating Albion as a cafe, not for their beauty / yoga / shop offerings. We came here for breakfast on the weekend. The store is in a converted home and it has a cool, funky vibe. Feels almost like a diner? There's a patio in the back to sit in plus another room that's maybe an artist studio? It's open to sit in unless being used. Decent for working in because it's quiet. Their coffee maker was broken - bummer. We got a matcha latte and it was quite good. A richer, less sweet taste than I'm used to. I also got a croissant (they sell Baked Bar good). Baked Bar is very tasty but I think my croissant was a day or two old...not the best. If I were to do it again I'd get the Japanese egg salad sandwich. Service was top notch. Very friendly. All in all I'd try again. I don't think I got the full experience since the coffee maker was down and I picked the wrong food item. I can tell this place has potential to be great!! There's a lot going on in here, but that's very fitting for Abbott Kinney. Stopped in for a little caffeine fix. They have a full coffee bar that also offers grab-and-go food. We keep coming back for the coffee and the service is amazing. I think this place is a skincare store and spa first. They have a ton of skin care products on the opposite side of the coffee shop part and offer spa services. Is you keep walking back there's a small garden and sitting area. Then in the back building there's always a new pop-up shop. The last two times we've been in the shop has been upscale clothing. Just like most people who find themselves wandering around Abbott Kinney, this place is just trying to find its way, while having multiple jobs just trying to survive in LA, but somehow makes it all work. Matcha is from Uji, Kyoto and not the powdered type it's the real deal matcha. A must try for any matcha connoisseurs. Plus they have sushi and a number of Japanese snacks. The concept for this place is so unique and innovative! I passed through here on a fairly warm day and was looking for a light and refreshing lunch. The sprinkle sushi was everything I was hoping for and more! I've had various sushi and poke dishes throughout LA, and this is most definitely one of my favorites so far. The balance of salmon, vegetables, and rice was spot on, and you can taste the freshness and quality of every ingredient. What truly made the experience I think was the cute "bungalow-esque" back patio area. I would have loved to have stayed longer to explore the products that they offered. The service was also good. I ordered, paid and promptly got my drink. The drink itself is the reason why the rating is lower. Personally, I could not finish drinking this fermented rice drink because of how sweet it was. I know that online the store advertises that there is no sugar added (which is what drew me into this store in the first place) but be warned that it is very sweet. The person I was with helped me finish the rest of the drink and said it reminded them of suan mei tang (sour plum drink) . For the double digit price I paid, I wish it was a better product in terms of flavor profile, but alas, I came to a skincare beauty store for a drink. So I guess that's on me. Nevertheless, I do see myself returning to this store to explore their other products and services (but just not the drink). read more

Food wise, I got the sprinkle sushi which came with pico the gallo & it was delicious. You can choose what sauce you'd like though. It's perfect for a quick lunch bite. The Amazake Squeeze Juice is a fermented rice drink with squeezed fruit of your choice (pink grapefruit, orange or pomegranate). Regarding skincare, I loved the flora drip product and bought one for myself. They also host meditation, yoga and sound bath events in the back. This is my absolute favorite place in Venice. Everyone is so friendly and helpful - especially Payam and Coryell. Coryell is really lovely and knowledgeable about the skincare brand/products and both her and Payam are really focused on the customer experience. The delightful and bright house has been converted to a retail store and cafe with a small yoga room and facial room. What an amazing store and cafe. I have come here multiple times and have tried a few of the drinks. They are all very good the only thing I would maybe not order again is the matcha. I have also gotten a facial at the spa. It's a very simple facial but my skin was very hydrated after I left and the techs are very kind. They gave me samples of the products after I left and I LOVED them. I have dry skin that is recovering from a hormonal acne outbreak and the products worked so well. I had one of the most horrific experiences visiting this place for the first (and last!) time. I had an event on the day that I visited that required of me to look in my fullest splendor, hence I thought getting my make up done by a "professional" at Albion in Abbot Kinney would be great. Prior to my make up appointment with Natalie, I had an appointment with the facial specialist also by the name of Natalie- which turned out great as she did a fantastic job, but unfortunately it defeated the purpose as I ended up rinsing off all expensive creams, serums and SPF she applied on my face after seeing the horrendous outcome of the make up that was done by Natalie the "beautician". Observations made: - Not once did she ask me what kind of make up I like. She basically made that choice on her own. - When she finished, I finally was able to look in the mirror and I almost couldn't speak of shock. Instead of trying to find solutions, she looked bothered that I didn't like the end result. - When asked if I liked it, I responded "it's too much make up and the colors dont match my skin tone" and Natalie very roughly touched my face to "fix" the problem, which she didn't and only made it worse. - She then asked rudely, "so what do you want me to do now?" and I told her I wanted her to take off entire makeup. She looked annoyed and instead of doing so, she only cleaned off some makeup. When I looked in the mirror, I still had tons of makeup up on so I just grabbed paper and asked her to give me make up remover so I could do it myself. - Natalie rudely gave me make up remover and not once told me she had another liquid to remove eye makeup, so my eyes became red and puffy and were tearing and itching a lot. It was then that she told me the liquid she had given me was to remove make up not eye makeup. - Not once did she apologize. She expressed no regard. Instead, she just walked away acting as though she had never worked on my face. - When asked why the foundation color selected did not match my skin tone, I was told the company only has colors for Asian and white women and that they do not cater to women of color. Sounds like this company needs to stay in Japan! This racist comment on top of the fact that their ONLY beautician onsite is a white woman, leaves no desire to return or tell my friends about this place. I should have trusted my gut feeling when I met Natalie as she wasn't friendly from the start and the make up on her own face was distasteful. She had make up marked freckles on her face. Freckles are beautiful but definitely very questionable when a "beautician" marks fake freckles on her face. Maybe only for Halloween. The only reason I give this review 2 stars is because Natalie the facialist who worked on my face prior was great. So if you decide to visit this place, do not get them confused! There's Natalie the "beautician" and Natalie the facialist. ** This place has zero parking and it took me 30+ min to find where to park- fyi. read more
