He walked me through each step of the process, made me feel totally comfortable with what he was proposing and doing, and was in touch with me every day of the actual work. His estimate was very reasonable compared with other companies and, in my opinion, delivered more. Just as important was how he handled me as a customer. Mr. Morrison proposed sodding and pinestrawing the area as well as cleaning out two existing swales to manage excess water flow. We asked that his crew also trim bushes and perform general yard clean up and maintenance. We agreed upon a set cost for the entire project. After admitting he underestimated and charging us for additional materials he stopped with the work only partially completed. He sodded about 34 of the area specified on his drawing. He left several areas of completely bare dirt, no sod or pinestraw. The crew was supposed to clean out our dry creek bed. They weed whacked it and walked away, leaving piles if detritus to block any future run off. You decide if you think this is a job well-done. Personally, I don't. When we approached him about the incomplete job his response was unpleasant and unprofessional. In fact it was blatantly rude. He referred to our concerns as "ridiculous". He refused to fulfill the contract as drawn for the agreed upon amount. While the owner of the business was difficult, the two men who did the actual labor were polite and hard working. I will never hire this company again. I would not recommend Morrison & Sons Landscaping, LLC. After requesting a quote on our roof, the CEO (Alex?) insisted I tell my insurance company to…read moreschedule him to do an inspection. There was a vague allusion to some storm damage from last year's hurricane that never made it here (even though they hadn't inspected anything.) I never got a quote and told them I wasn't interested, then received excuses instead of what I needed and warnings about how hard it is to call my insurance company and file a claim. Without knowing anything about the job a number of $14,000 or so was tossed out after informing them we were not interested. Another company (Mancilla Roofing) did a thorough inspection, climbed up on the roof and listed things they needed to do specifically, gave us materials samples to mull over, and quoted $9,000 for the entire job to include replacing all the roof vents and features, and even running a magnet over the property to find any nails that may have escaped their work area. These guys seem to be locking themselves into potential customers through the insurance company immediately to pretty much name their price and prevent anyone else from competing with them. I didn't get the feeling that any of this was on the level, but I am guessing that if they can overcharge insurance companies enough this way their actual roofing work should be done pretty well and they wouldn't have to cut corners. The other reviewers here who don't seem to understand how their insurance works all gave them 5 stars after all.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying him upfront before inspecting the work. After I contacted him, he apologized and promised to come back, but despite multiple attempts to follow up, he never returned. My advice: either don't use him or, if you do, never pay until the work is 100% complete. Unfortunately, this one was on me.

Three of the stumps were overturned trees from the storms that came through a couple of months ago. One of those stumps that was toppled was 6ft high. Kevin had to cut the tree trunk off the stump and pull the stump back over into the ground then grind it. There was also about 20ft of tree trunk that he cut into 18" sections and put in my neighbors wood pile. Kevin is a true profession and worked into the evening to finish the job. Besides the great reviews I saw online, he is a Marine. Being a Marine myself, I knew he would do a great job as that is what Marines do. I was not disappointed. I would hire Chomper's Stump Grinding again in a heartbeat.

The main reasons was his lack of planning for the amount of material required to complete the job and failing to return to complete the project. As of 29 October 25, he and/or his team has yet to complete the project. I have called, texted and emailed him numerous times with no response. This lack of action prompted me to search online for reviews of this company and what I found on numerous sites was that Mr Money (Alex) has failed to complete numerous other customer's projects. Shame on me for putting my trust in him. Now I have to spend more money to contract another company to finish the job.
