Building a new, modern home and wanted an LED linear suspension light for the kitchen island. It is the epicenter, gathering place of our/many peoples home and wanted something special that stands out. And by the way, this home is to be showcased via our design + build firm to high end clientele, builders - a 4 day event with heavy foot traffic, in the thousands, focusing on marketing of various products (including lighting), subcontracters, etc. After the order of the fixture was placed and was assured timing wouldn't be an issue, the customer service has fallen off a cliff. I initially contacted Alcon three times in the past 1.5 weeks, was told the fixture shipped out on 10/10/2018 and that I would receive tracking information, I did not. Because we are now 7 days from a 4 day showcasing of the home, I reached out for a fourth time, pressing to know the status of the fixture. It has not shipped out and I still can't get it firm ship, delivery date. I'm not here to hate on Alcon, I just want to get our light in time for the showcasing. I want others to see their work. This piece was supposed to be a focal point for our kitchen and was/is excited for others to see a fixture/design which I'm 99% sure has not been done in our area. What I'm asking for is a sense of urgency, them to do whatever it takes to get our fixture by the showcase. What happens with our fixture today will be the make/break day. read more

I have been lighting fixtures and materials from Alcon or the last 4 years. They are one of the best lighting supply on the West side of Los Angeles. They carry a large selection of modern outdoor and indoor lighting. The staff know what they are doing and make good recommendation when I need help. When we have any problem with the fixtures they always provide good customer service. When the LED fixture we bought one time is not working well, all we have to do is to bring it back. They checked it out and changed it - no question asked. They open early in the morning and that helps as well, especially when you want to beat the traffic. Great local boutique store! I have undertaken several remodeling projects over the past few years and am so thankful to have been able to consult with the lighting professionals at Alcon during the design and construction process. I receive outstanding customer service even though I am not a big customer but the best part of their service is access to state of the art lighting products far beyond what even my electrician or local lighting store can provide. The prices for the fixtures are competitive, and they work. Smooth dimmable LEDs, pairing the right dimmer with the fixture so it works the first time, access to the latest products at lower than internet prices. This is why I continue to make the trip to their store rather than rely on my electrician to provide the items. read more

Alcon Lighting is a great brand. Suggested by our architect, our contractor ordered their linear LED suspension lighting fixtures. They dim very well with our Lutron dimming systems. They barely have any glare and the staff really likes the way they appeal. We ordered them mostly in white and also a couple in a black finish for our conference room lighting. It took over 4 weeks to receive them, however they are definitely worth it specially the up and down effect. Highly recommended. read more

Completely lacking all customer service! I've been trying for 2 weeks to get a simple pricing question answered, but have had NO RESPONSE at all from anyone at this company. Their phone rings on without being answered. No one is ever available at their online chat. They have ignored 2 e-mails requesting assistance. I even created a customer account so that I could use their "contact us" sales department question submission form....they closed that question without so much as an answer! As a representative of a local university, I have quite a bit of experience dealing with electrical suppliers, and this is the worst (lack of) service ever. read more

If you live on the Westside and can't stand the lack of attention you get from Home Depot or Lowes I recommended this place because they give you personal service and great prices for all your electrical and lighting needs. OK. So I screwed up! BUT, Joelyn Grippo, The Customer Service & Sales Support Contact @ Alcon Lighting & Wholesale Electric, Inc. Of 2845 S. Robertson Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90034 Saved my bacon, and in so doing made my day as well. I ordered two 12 volt bulbs, 8 and 18 watt. Unfortunately somehow instead of the 18 watt being the 12 volt, I ordered a 120 volt instead. These bulbs are for the pool and spa replacement bulbs. Now to make matters even more complicated, I gave her an incorrect email address. Yup, I was not having a good day, batting less than 100 percent. After a phone call to Joelyn she fixed it all for me. Arrenged for that return and credit of the 120 volt bulb, got a credit for it, and exchanged the order to the correct 12 volt bulb. She called me many times to confirm my email, what the order number was and other details. I'm telliing you, I world recommend this company due to the attention to detail that she went through, and fighting with the incorrect email address. All I can say, is this compay is fabulous to deal with, good prices, and goes the extra mile to make a satisified customer. I experienced an unfortunate customer service experience while investigating negligent shipping practices. My package was not delivered properly to my door and consequently lost. Alcon provided inconsistent information about who is responsible for coordinating the freight, as FED EX was not instructed to require a signature for the drop-off ($300 item with a $66 shipping charge from Alcon). Alcon as a distributor denied accountability for this oversight. I eventually resolved the issue by directly contacting the manufacturer, in which they agreed to replace the missing item with the cooperation (albeit with initial resistance) from Alcon. This process took a very long time (1 month later), and I did not appreciate the misguidance and general murkiness of how this type of issue is handled. The products they distribute are high quality and the staff are highly knowledgable but be weary of shipping costs, fair shipping practices, and double check the price of goods. read more

I was looking for a lighting store in Los Angeles that has a great selection of LED bulbs. After visiting their extensive website and calling around I chose to visit this store. My concern was to find dimmable warm white LED bulbs for our recessed lights and various lamps throughout the house. Most places I have gone have all the bright white LED bulbs which I didn't want for my home. They offered me to take home a few of their recommended warm white LED bulbs and test them out. That really helped me to choose what I really wanted for our place. I returned the samples back, placed an order for a large quantity and was able to get a much lower price from them. Their location is very convenient since it's right off of the 10 freeway. They open early so I was able to get in before heading to work. They shipped the whole order to my home at no cost. Designing a new lobby at my business and I found a stylish and modern LED bar light at Alcon. It was not merely expensive, it was I-can't-believe-I-am-paying-this-much expensive. Still it was exactly what I was looking for, so I ordered it. Alcon's web site indicated the item was "in stock - ships in 7-14 business days." Nine days after I ordered I received an email from them saying it was not actually in stock and would not be shipped to me for an additional three weeks. I quickly looked at the web site, and sure enough, it continued to say "in stock." I interpret that as fraud. It is now 28 days since I ordered and the light has not shipped yet. Alcon still lists the item as "in stock - ships in 7-14 business days." Those are the facts. read more

The staff knows a lot about lighting but be careful about a "consultation", they charge $250 PER HOUR and they will not use this fee toward your purchase. Also, they charge 25% restocking fee, even if it is still in the box and was returned in perfect condition. They also did not tell me that you can use regular housing for LED lighting in areas where you don't have to have title 24 compliancy. That would have saved us a couple thousand dollars for our project. read more
