However, I don't care for how their produce aisle is organized. I found it difficult to find the items I needed. I also noticed that they need to take better care of the plants at the entrance of the store. Pete's is located next door to Sam's Club and adjacent to Chick-fil-A, which makes it very convenient to make multiple shopping trips without driving far. The parking lot was accommodating. The service was good and very helpful. Staff were patient and friendly. I like the sales app I downloaded, which had a variety of good coupons. This is a very clean, neat, and well-stocked store.

We dared to go on Opening Day and we were glad we did ... it was a beautiful sunny day and there was a line, but it was worth the wait. If you like Pete's stores, you are going to like this one. Since it was opening day, the staffing and number of employees working every part of the business was impressive. There was an employee in almost every single aisle to answer questions or head you off in the right direction. Every cash register was being used, and each checkout line had a bagger to speed things along. Besides staff helping all through the store, management was all around to keep everything in top form. The store layout is great, but different from that of Orland Park. The Orland Park facility is pretty much square, with the aisles being almost as deep as the width of the storefront. Here in Tinley the storefront facing Harlem Avenue seems to be twice as long, and the aisles inside are a bit shorter and more numerous. The Tinley Park building is one of the first where Pete's built the layout to their specifications, instead of taking over an older big box building and repurposing it to fit their needs. As usual, when you come in the first thing you'll be greeted by is the huge section devoted to all the fresh fruit and vegetables (FFV); this seems to be a hallmark of the Pete's Fresh stores. All the meat and dairy products line the back wall, leading to all the freshly prepared foods ... dozens of serve yourself items where you can put together lunch and/or dinner to go. And of course in the center mass of the store are numerous aisles with all the standard stuff. Once again ... if you like the Pete's Fresh concept, you are going to love the new Pete's Market in Tinley Park. Recommended.

Prices reasonable for the amount of common spices and all other spices. Some spice in smaller bottles, some in tall bottles, even bagged spices, different forms of some spices. Produce is fresh. Some produce may or may not be more expensive than the grocery store but what is sold is fresher and tends to last longer. Huge variety of reasonable price seeds, raisins and all kinds of nut products. Parking is always available. I usually go later in the day and the deli area is never crowded. They also have fresh baked bread products that are worth the cost. Gone here for over 10 years.

This store's counter part in Palos sold a pound that actually had water drain out with it's grease. A meat store in Chicago Ridge sold it's 'tasteless' ground beef. So. I decided to try Aldi's, since years back we had some excellent pork chops from this store. We used this in a taco type dish which has always been a favorite. With every second or third bite, an 'old meat' taste came through. As if some 'not yet expired beef' was ground into the fresh meat. This was the 96% lean ground beef, not the cheaper one. We had this type of problem in a restaurant a few months ago. Feta cheese in an omelette seemed to have good and bad mixed together. At a loss to find decent food!

We selected a red watermelon. This batch of watermelons were from Mississippi. We asked the owner if they were sweet and he did not have a straightforward answer stating it's a watermelon. He put a $15 watermelon in the car. The watermelon is extremely heavy! When we got home we cut it open and it was a light in color and had a very bitter taste. Maybe we got a bad watermelon? Next time I go hopefully they have Georgia watermelons. You get a lot for what you pay for but the taste was a bitter surprise.
