Been coming here for many years. Usually a great place for fresh fruit and a wide variety of yummy options from Poland, Germany and other countries. This place is falling, MANAGEMENT doesn't care about expired dates, their breads are all expired stale we've thrown multiple of loaf out turning moldy in a couple days, overpriced and the deli they look at you like you took their wallet when you asked them to prepare something for you bad attitudes wait for Pete's Fresh they're opening up in New Lenox sorry Brookhaven you're not caught yet. I've only gone here a couple of times when passing by. First time I left my wallet in the cart. I called and someone turned it in..nothing missing. Now to the grocery part. The last time I had good service at the meat counter even tho another person commented to no one coming out...that was very true. I happened to catch the guy stocking meat and he was helpful. I never shopped here until tonight . Read some yelp reviews and it peaked my curiosity . Lots of prepared foods that would make a great lunch . The European items are on par with mariano's ethnic international isle , albeit in a smaller scale . Produce looked good , picked up some plump juicy Rasberries . Many sale items grabbed my attention . I caught a musty odor in the entry way put it did not waft thou out the store . Never been to a grocery store where baby food and pet food are together side by side . Not saying that's a deal breaker , just quirky in my opinion . read more

Pros + Cons . More cons. Stopped for first time on way to kids track meet in Mokena. Prices all seemed high except deli Maybe 4 shoppers in there at 5pm. Pros- very good cheese garlic bread and deli prices looked good. Cons outweighed pros . Walked away from deli counter after waiting at least 10 -15 minutes while a lady was slicing lunch meat. A male mgr came back , just looked around and did nothing but walk away. No courtesy extended like I'll be right with u or even acknowledged us while we were unattended for way too long.Only 1 lady working behind deli and a young boy waking back and forth. Picked up a tray of mixed Kolacky. Both my wife and I being polish agreed these were the WORST we ever had. The filing was like rubber , chewing gum with no taste .Maybe all dried up. We threw them all out. Dipping in coffee wouldn't even save these . No more stops at Brookhaven that's for sure. read more

I shopped at this Marketplace a couple of times. The last two times i shopped it was not a pleasant experience. They sale packages of watermelon and the one i got was bad.The last experience and i mean last, because I can't go back there anymore was when the package of meat i got was bad. The hot food isn't hot. It's supposed to be kept hot, it's just sitting on a defective warmer, don't buy and get sick. Purchased Kolachke spent $9 growing mold dated August 9 th. Got some waffle cannolis refrigerated section, no date, that wasn't fresh either. The bakery is mostly a thaw and serve bakery, not much was made fresh there. Their homemade brats were good and the steaks we got were good too. You'd think everything would be top notch his pricey they were. I'm from out of state, so doubt I'd make a special trip back, not worth the gas. read more

Every time I go there there's less and less people. Do you think when I go in there to buy a pile steaks, The guy staring at me would come out from behind the glass I don't know how long is supposed to wait why do I five minutes every minute give them the eyeball. Even came back after doing some other shop and the guy still wouldn't come out from behind the glass even though he was staring at me. I thought that's why they have a butcher counter. Well I guess it's just some fancy meat behind the counter that nobody can buy. That's OK those steaks can rot behind the counter Because I never got helped. How can you run a business with no customer service. That's OK there's plenty of places to buy steak in town. I made sure to unsubscribe from my preferred membership. Found the store to be spotless...the design of the interior makes is one of a kind it reminds you of a European Village.....the selection of items are ones you won't find at other stores which makes the search of isle all the more fun because of the variety...the prices are not bad at all ... read more

A quaint smallish grocery store in Mokena. They offer a decent meat selection and a fresh produce area. We have never gone to this store for a full run of groceries but rather to pick up a sale item or something we forgot. The service has always been nice and helpful. There is a substantial jump in price compared to other local grocery stores (Aldi, Jewel, Meijer, etc.). I am not sure how they can justify this difference? Usually this spot is quiet and the store is not full. The deli has great options and they do have a nice selection of premade items: soups, sandwiches, etc. From time to time they have good deals on meat and seafood. read more

Shopping curbside during Covod 19. Yes, they were out of some items. Every store is in this position. But the website was easy to use and we were able to pick up next day. I also appreciate that the employee that brought to our car was in a mask. read more

This review is for their produce only - they put stuff on sale that is subpar. Watch out for this - you pay good money for rotten or close to rotten produce. When I complained about iceburg lettuce being rotten, they said "well it's only 99 cents" - I don't care how much you put it on sale for, rotten is rotten. read more

This is a small grocery store nearby some shopping centers. Don't judge a book by its cover though! This has some decent items to get. The service is great! The cashier was friendly to me when I was buying the items I needed. She was easy to talk to. This grocery store has some good produce and other items. They look healthy, and the items are actually tasting healthy! All in all, this is a good and small grocery store. I will be back again. read more

If you prefer a small marketplace like me, this is it. My favorite place to go for groceries. The packaged fresh meals near the deli are great grab and go meals and convenient. The bakery department is a favorite too. A favorite item of ours is their European bread. Highly recommend this marketplace. read more

What on God's green earth was I doing in Mokena? Funny you should ask.... I was hanging out at Brookhaven Marketplace and learning a thing or two about a thing or two. First off, who knew a market in Mokena would have a selection of Greek foodstuffs that puts Greektown to shame. Apparently there is a large Greek population in this area (who knew?) and Brookhaven caters to the hood! Fresh meals to go and a super friendly staff topped off by a super clean store, reasonable prices and a decent wine and spirits selection that is well organized and onces again, very well stocked with some of Greece's finest of wines. The bakery has a decent stock of cakes that can be customized while they take advanced orders at prices that give Costco a run for their money. Very professional and friendly staff, incredibly clean store and again, really decent prices for an independent. read more

Wow - I was completely blown away by the prices and quality of the fresh produce (2 avocados for $1? 7 limes for $1? red peppers $0.59 a lb? -- in the dead of winter?!) and the range of delicious import items (cans of Greek spiced beans, Italian pastas of all shapes and sizes and Bobak Polish sausages) On a Sunday the market wasn't ridiculous crowded and I could linger and drool over items to my hearts content. I love love love Brookhaven's produce selection. Their meat department is pretty awesome too. Their sliced meat/produce prices beat out anyone in the area. However, all of their regular canned/boxed goods are WAY over priced. Even when said items are on sale, they're still way more expensive than they would be at most grocery stores. Think of Whole Foods but less pricey and more ethnic foods. Amazing deli section, homemade baked goods, prepared meals ready to just get heated up, numerous selections of meat in different marinades, great selection of dried foods, nuts and candies, awesome produce selection. This is usually my choice of grocery stores around the Frankfort / Mokena / New Lenox area...I'm never disappointed when I go in here, though I did find out they don't carry creme fraiche... No biggie, though They always have a larger selection of vegetables (which I usually get) than places like Jewel, and their prices are a lot more reasonable... Plus I love the idea of trying new items from all over the work, like their ghee, and just about anything Mediterranean... They also have a pretty vast variety of cheeses, breads, and organic products. My personal go-to treat anytime I go here is either the drinkable yogurt or kefir... Now that Whole Foods has opened up in Orland Park, I'm sure Brookhaven may take a hit...with that said, they're products are great, and at reasonable prices....so I recon they won't suffer bad as like a Trader Joe's Brookhaven is strictly groceries...they don't have aisles for laundry detergents or shampoos and whatnot As for food....it's about as good as it gets read more

This is the best grocery store in the area if you cook a lot. The produce section is great- the prices of fruits and veggies are almost half of what the bigger, fancy stores charge (think Jewel, Dominicks) I LOVE that they carry super overly ripe plaintains, means I can cook them that night! The meat selection is much larger than anywhere eles, and cheaper, I guarantee. In the glass case of pre prepared meats, they have this marinated skirt steak that is amazing! And really cheap. Their pre seasoned fajita mix is super tasty as well. Great way to bring home something thats easy to throw in a skillet or grill. They have products from all over the world here, so if you are a foodie, you'll love it. The pasta section is fun! Spices come in big bags of dried plants. Every kind of nut you can think of. Just a great place to wonder and let your mind entertain cooking new things. The deli section always has a long line, because the prices cant be beat! I think its worth waiting. You grab a number, and check out all the crazy cheeses and fancy desserts that you shouldn't be eating while you wait :) Sorry, but if your not big into cooking, and you eat a lot of sh*t out of boxes, youll hate this place. Wont be able to find much of it here. And those type of items are not cheap here. Its just not that kind of grocery store. This is not a one-stop-shop model store like super Walmart or Jewel. My wife refuses to go here anymore because of her, and after today, I'll never step foot inside again. Besides carrying Boars Head, there isn't a draw. Brookhaven was pretty cool The produce was Ok, they didnt really have anything thats hard to find or unique. I was dissappointed that they only carried white and portabella mushrooms when i went. Meat was the same although apprently they have whole lambs. Bakery was pretty cool, lots of cookies Deli was interesting had a nice Olive bar, along with salted and oil packed fish The thing that will bring me back though is the seafood they had Shark, Sea bass, whole tilapia, octopuss, squid, frog legs, sepia, mahi mahi, orange roughy, whole steelhead, whitefish, catfish, crayfish, lobster, crab, about 10 different kinds of shrimp, and they had whole golden trout.... Baiscly though If I was buying anything other than Seafood I would probally go to Euro- Fresh Market on 159th and harlem because they carry more variety all in all pretty nice for this area and I will be back! read more

Brookhaven is the sensible person's Whole Foods. The produce section cannot, CANNOT be beat! The deli kicks the big guys deli to the curb. Lots of lamb cuts, and tons of everything you'd eat from the water. They even got escargot, man! And their sale prices whoop ass. Constantly buying chicken leg quarters for 39 cents/pound! And they got all the continents covered. Asian, Eastern European, Middle-Eastern, Hispanic goods are all represented well. Oh, and some of the best deals on oil. And a great cheese and sausage bin. Don't even go to Jewel ever again if you live in the area, just a waste of time and moolah. read more

I stopped in here tonight because I didn't feel like going all the way up to orland for Whole Foods. Now, let me say, I had some super niche-organic products on my list. I figured I would have to get my basics and end up going to Whole Foods later on, but, to my surprise, Brookhaven had EVERY item on my list AND at far lower cost than competitors. Normally when I go to a normal grocer they don't have everything I need but I think I have found my close to home, one stop shop. I love their bulk section for products like hemp and chia seeds and their produce was great! The almond flour and flax was at least $2-$3 cheaper than I normally buy. Overall, if you prefer to shop organic and are looking for quality food products, I encourage you to stop in. read more

i stopped at the frankfort store this morning and after shopping at the checkout i was told by a woman named cathy that the small pumpkin i had was not $ 1.29 cents but it was per pound in a very rude way. after the purchases were bagged she took my money and gave me my change and stormed away leaving $ 137.00 worth of groceries in bags at the end of the counter. i don't know why any employee would ever treat a customer that way but i learned my lesson. read more

This is not my first or even second choice for a grocery store but they do have their pros such as the deli and the produce. The deli is definitely the best part about this place. It is affordable, delicious, and has a wide variety of options. The Boar Head meats are especially tasty. The produce is typically in good shape and they do have a decent organic selection. As far as the general stock of the store, it's just okay. It's not exactly the place where I can get everything I need like Jewel but it's close to my gym so I stop in sometimes. I still go here from time to time but their produce seems considerably more expensive than even Mariano's (ex bananas, not organic, for $0.69 per pound, versus $0.39 per pound at Mariano's and $0.19 per banana at Trader Joes.) I do like their take out spanakopita and come here regularly to get it, but you should know your prices because it seems much pricier than alternatives for the items I purchase.I don't do my regular shopping here, just specific items. read more

I come here on a weekly basis because their deli fair is so inexpensive. The line is usually 15 deep. But as I was stnading there waiting for my meat. I had an eye shot through the window, into the back prep area. There was a guy filling up small containers with soup. When he dribbled on the side of the container, he would wipe it with his bare hand and then lick it. The funny part was when he looked up, I was smiling at him.
