I shop here around once per month, and I'm pleased with it, overall. It's quirky in a few ways, but the prices are fantastic. The selection is definitely on the small side, but the store has certain items I buy almost every time, so it's one of my 3 go-to grocery stores (along with Kroger and Costco). It's excellent for milk, cheese, certain breakfast cereals, salsa, hummus, and some frozen items. It has a good selection of German chocolates, though I wouldn't call them inexpensive. The store is wide-open and reasonably clean. The biggest demerit is that some of the employees are inconsiderate or even come off as rude. I sometimes shop towards the end of the day, and there often seems to be a floor cleaner machine following me around, nipping at my heels. Worse than that, many of the cashiers act like their pants are on fire, racing to scan food items and ungently dropping or practically throwing them into the shopping cart in a haphazard manner. That does bug me, and they have torn a bag of flour and damaged some of my food items before, such as fruit and bread. I took one star off for that. read more

I've always heard about Aldi but had never shopped there. A friend of mine told me about a Facebook group specifically for Aldi and their aisle of shame, lol. I joined the Facebook group and after watching it for a few days, I was like OK let me go check out this Aldi. I went and getting the cart was pretty hard in the beginning because my coin wouldn't go in and someone had to help me, but once I got my cart, I went inside. It was a little smaller than I expected, but I was so impressed by all of the items that they had and yes, that includes everything in the aisle of shame. I definitely bought something from that aisle. The staff are really friendly. Everyone was nice, but just an FYI, you need to bring your own bags. read more

I must say... I think I'm a fan for this location. Not sure how recently it's been here but it was super clean and no lines. I was highly impress with the amount of space there - fortunately since the pandemic I've have not been able to shop at an Aldi in my location due to the crowds and the space of the store. Not sure if I caught it on the right day or whatever but I highly suggest you take a look here. Also don't forget the wine section they have tons of selections for the low price. Aldi's grocery prices are very competitive compared to Kroger, Meijer and Walmart. Except, the way the cashiers are manhandling the items people carefully pick from stock, but eventually they are being thrown on the basket, damaging the fruits and soft items like bread, denting the can goods. It's not good. Bad for the company's image. Management should have a review on how the cashiers handling of customers merchandise. Better yet, to save money have a self-checkout lanes. read more

Most frustrating Website I have ever used! Trying to get a refund on a product I did not receive in my delivery order. First will not except my email address, so I log into my account to fill out a request. Log on accepts my email just fine. Second will not accept the code , or description for the product. 16 oz. Bacon Appleton Farms 9399! Finally takes descriptions only to tell me my first and last name are incorrect! I shop for elderly people who can't afford to pay for items they do not receive. Big Aldi fan here! Amazing prices for household staples and special finds (like the specialty cheeses - check them out). Just be sure to bring a quarter and some bags! This location isn't one of the big locations but it has everything you're looking for, from produce to canned goods to alcohol and everything in between. I will say though that I have a hard time finding the "Aldi Finds" in stock at this location each week, which is kind of a bummer. The cashiers here are very friendly (I think one knows me by name now haha) and the inside is clean, which goes a long way in creating a great experience. The parking lot at this location can be a bit of a chore. The front lots fills up fast so you typically need to park in the side lot and it's a bit of a journey/rumble patch when pushing your cart. All that said, I typically go here once a week for my grocery supply! Conveniently located right off Ford Road. Just be aware Ford Road gets REAL busy during peak times (weekends and week nights)! read more

This Aldi location is within a very busy strip mall area. I find it best to visit outside of rush hour, or any work day and confine my visits to Saturday morning and Sunday. The parking lot is usually very busy but there are adequate parking spaces. The traffic on the entry road is a difficulty. It is relatively easy to enter if you are travelling east on Ford Road but going west can be a hassle. I like the selections they have, especially their health oriented materials. The prices are right for the food I would term 'health' food. Like whole grains. The inside of the store is very plain. It is easy to navigate to the several sections. Like a traditional supermarket it is not a gargantuan warehouse. They are very busy so the staff is actively moving materials from the storage area to the sales area at a regular pace. The last time I was there I was concerned because electric forklifts were being used to move produce and items out to the floor rather than transferring them to carts. The location also lacked sufficient boxes to place the food and other goods we purchased in (which is the custom at the place). We ended up buying reusable bags, so, that worked out. read more

Aldi has has had a facelift! As an Aldi lover, I've been to so many stores here and abroad. I loved this Aldi before, but now I love it for different reasons. It's superiorly clean and sleek design lends itself to a more traditional grocery store look. The fresh product is the first thing when you enter similar to other grocery stores. It makes finding produce, baked goods, and cold products a little easier to find. That being said, the dry goods and shelves are still a bit tricky to navigate. It's hard to find thing you are looking for, especially "Aldi Finds" as they are no longer in their own aisle by produce but spread across two. I thought that the renovation would increase the store's size but I don't feel that the store is much bigger. If it is, it isn't by much. I'm a little disappointed that Aldi's corporate didn't combine the old store with the new. That being said, this location still has an awesome staff of hard workers. They are always loading, stocking, and working to make the store the best it can be. read more

Cheap as chips. Of course I like that. The selection here is not consistent but you can buy off brand and sometimes even brand names at low prices. My husband likes a couple of their off brand cereals. I also get basic staples like rice, pastas (including whole wheat), eggs, string cheese, even some meats and I am satisfied. For instance, I got everything I needed for Jambalaya in here the other night and for a lot less than I was expecting. I walked out happy. You can even find jars of artichokes, reduced sugar jams, dried fruit, nuts, frozen fruit bars and the like. Stroll along and you can find a lot of hidden gems you probably aren't looking for specifically but will like at any rate. Veggies and fruit are only limited selection but the peppers and onions I bought there did fine. Oranges too. You have to pay for a cart but you will get it back. Bring your own bags for your grocery items or you will have to buy their plastic ones which are actually pretty strong and reusable. I bring my own at any rate but if something doesn't fit I have gotten one of theirs. It's not glam but its solid and inexpensive. Worth a whirl. read more

I was checking out and gave the clerk a $100 dollar bill for a $40.38 grocery purchase. The clerk gave me $40 and shut the drawer. When I said hey you owe me more money, he opened the drawer and said yeah you're right and handed me a $20. He obviously knew what he was doing, or he would have questioned me on how much he owed me and not immediately handed the money to me. I did report it to the manager. I purchased a fan at an Aldis on my way home from work. Got home, ate my dinner first then decided to put my fan together, only to find out it was missing a part. So I took it to the Canton Aldis to exchange it. As soon as I walked in with it, ( it was 7:40 pm) I was immediately told they were not taking returns right now. No hello, no how can I help you!!! I inquired about just exchanging it for another one and was told they were out of them. First time I've been upset by an Aldis employee. He was short with me and rude. Not bad at all for anyone watching their budget! It has a bit of a cold sort of atmosphere .. Or business- like and a " no frills" approach!!! I guess you could call it a sort of "warehouse" type of feeling that you get inside. But heck that's how they can lower their prices! You have to pay a quarter to get a cart ( you get it back when you return it!)..Also you must bring your own bags to load up with the groceries! The prices are much lower yet they don't have quite as many choices. But if you're OK with that then by all means, check out Aldi in Canton, MI! I must add that the people who work there were pleasant and kind enough. The food that they displayed and carried at Aldi was not outdated or anything like that. It wasn't "bad" food either. The things that you most likely will want to get there are the things that are not "specialty" items in your pantry. We found out that we can get tissues, paper products, crackers, Milk, cereals and things like this that really don't matter so much if they are a "name brand" item or not. Aldi is very close to our home, almost so that we can walk there! It's close and convenient and if it's not super close for you, it's still worth a short trip for the money you'll be saving in grocery shopping! I cannot tell you how many times I have visited an Aldi store in my life. I grew up in the Netherlands. and have spent many a weekend/summer in Germany. What does this matter you think? Well, Aldi is a German discount supermarket and thus a large part of Europe is covered in these great stores which bestill my cheapo heart. Shopping carts for a quarter, and 10c for a shopping bag? I guess that is just how 'we' roll on the other side of the pond! Aldi started out with the Albrecht brothers (Aldi = Albrecht Discount), whom after a while became each-others less favorite person and were then forced to split the succesful company up as evenly as possible. One brother got to occupy the 'North' (Aldi Markt) and the other the 'South' (Aldi Sud). In the US we are graced with Aldi Sud stores, which is unfortunate as I have always found the overall experience and variety of products carried at Aldi Mart to be more favorable. But beggars cant be choosers, and I am very happy to have a slice of home right here on Ford Rd!! In the world of Aldi, there is no such thing as no-name brand. There is Aldi brand, however! I love the fact that I can come to Aldi, and pick up many basics at a much lower price than even Walmart or Meijer. Every time I come here, I will find at least a couple of things that excite me, as I was not expecting to find them. Tyson chicken, as well as milk is a great deal. Erin likes the faux Cheerios, and at about 2 bucks a box you cant really go wrong. Fun fact, Erin is a huge 'you just dont buy offbrand products, they are NOT equal' kinda person; but is slowly finding that in most cases these items at half the price are not as Godawful as he once thought. We now happily pass the cereal isle at Kroger, to come to Aldi. I happen to drink *alot of* wine, and the winking owl brand has got my seal of approval. Veggie chips are yummy, so are the chocolate covered biscuits. On occassion as a lunchbag treat, I like to pick up a dollar iced coffee drink for my stepdaughter. Garlic, onions, avocados and other miscellaneous produce/fruit is a great value as well. In the 'Mothercountry' I was a big fan of their frozen lasagna and pizzas, but I am not sure if they will be the same at 'Aldi Sud' as opposed to 'Aldi Mart' and if 'Aldi Sud' will be the same in the US as it is in EU. Sigh! Mindboggling. I guess I will just have to buy and try!! Also, if anyone within Aldi is reading this.. Can we please start carrying 'Golden Power' brand fake-o Red Bull? At $.19 I practically lived on this liquid diet during my run at highschool. Good stuff! *Fun fact: Trader Joes is/was related to Aldi somehow!* I guess that explains why I adore that place as much as I do! I forgot the story behind this, I believe the bro that ended up with Aldi Sud (The version we have in the US) started TJs simultaneously and then sold it. Or maybe he didnt sell it? In the last few months, we have been trying to strech our grocery budget with the kids growing up and eating like velociraptors. Step in Aldi for great budget items that are almost always cheaper than Meijer or Kroger for foodstuffs that you really can't tell the difference between. Some examples are a dozen eggs always .79, milk is always 1.49, cream cheese has been reduced down to like 1.19 or even .99 sometimes. Other standouts include the frozen seasoned fries. 1.65 for a bag that is hardly ever under 2.00 at Meijer or Kroger, and ALL the chips, chips ahoy cookies, are all under 1.79. Queso in a jar is always 1.99. And if you like the Samoas from the Girl Scouts, they sell almost-exact replicas the Coconut Caramel cookies for like 1.69 and you get just as many as the Girl Scouts. Good ice cream is less than $3. The only things we don't get from here are shredded cheese (sale prices at Meijer have always been lower), produce can sometimes come in too large quantities (we don't really need 2lbs of fresh green beans at a time), and meat is here or there (sales at Meijer are better, but you can get small portions of meat at Aldi that are just as good). So like steaks or brisket are cheaper, but less options to choose from. Not a big fan of their lunch meat or bacon either, but its still okay. Overall, it is worth doing a Meijer trip for meat and sale items and Aldi for everyday staples. We now spend less than $100 a week on food for our family of 4! read more

Aldi is an excellent place for food basics. I honestly only have a few items that I cannot purchase at Aldi and they tend to come from specialty stores anyway. The dairy products are very well priced and have long expiration dates because they sell so much. The frozen food section offers good quality and nice variety as well. The canned goods are about the best priced I can consistently find anywhere and I don't have to worry about coupons. The produce can sometimes be hit-or-miss, however. Their produce seems to be delivered on a weekly basis and by the end of that week's rotation, some of the items are less than fresh. I am willing to overlook the occasional produce faux pas because this is an excellent store with great prices on quality food. read more

I'm obsessed with aldi. This place has saved my family SO MUCH money. The food is great tasting. I can stock up with a cart full of food for $60. I love that you can even find name brand stuff there sometimes too. Especially snacks for the kids, they've grown to love the aldi brand better than the name brand. Ps. If i could give less than one star i would. Customer service suck ! I had just ran in to pick up some chips for my grand daughter and a loaf of sourdough bread. decided to get my husband a apple pie. went to the check out and a African american young man told me that the cashier was closed. I said thank you and went to the other cashier. mind you there were two African american cashiers and one white cashier in the middle of the two. i myself am African american. the other African american cashier said she was closed also and THREW HER SIGN ON THE BELT TOWARD ME. I went to the cashier in the middle... the white girl. she was waiting on a young man . we discussed how rude the other cashiers were. ( he and I) we compared it to the rudeness of cashiers from Farmer Jack market... I retired from Costco wholesale of 21 yrs and came out of retirement to work with BJ's warehouses. Being in Customer service since the late 70's This is a prime example of sheer Rudeness I experienced. I will never shop in another Aldi market again in life. German owned or US owned. read more

I used to be an avid Meijer shopper, but I find I'm doing more and more shopping here. I am a penny pincher for sure - rarely purchase brand names and only do if they are on sale AND I have a coupon AND they are then cheaper than the store brand. Therefore, I'm glad that I have found Aldi. You can't find milk for less money anywhere else, and as a household that goes through about 4 - 5 gallons a week, we save at least $4/week just with that. All of the basic pantry items are available, but I've noticed that there a few things that you can only purchase as "special buys" - canned green chilis, butter spray (e.g. Parkay or I Can't Believe It's Not Butter) so for those items I make a trip back to Meijer. The fruits and veggies are often priced better than other grocery stores, especially if it's a weekly 'fresh produce pick' but you do have to look closely at the quality sometimes. There are a few things that Aldi does really well: 1. Ice cream - standard ice cream is great, and they also have low fat ice cream sandwiches that mimic Skinny Cow brand which taste just as good but are 1/2 the price 2. Salsa - they have a brand called Little Salad Bar that I swear to you is Garden Fresh salsa with a different label on it - same flavors and all. 3. Bread - my boys eat 100% whole wheat and I can get it there for under $1 loaf. I eat the "slimwiches", and again excellent quality but not nearly expensive as Pepperidge Farm or Aunt Millies. 4. Cheese - whether it's block, shredded or feta, all are delicious. There are a couple of items I wouldn't recommend: 1. Potato chips - the pretzels and tortilla chips are fine, but the potato chips just seem to heavy and greasy. 2. Their version of Kashi's Good Friends cereal. It just doesn't live up. 3. Coffee - I can't speak for the instant as I don't drink it, but the typical drip brew is so-so. If you like coffee I'd say it's worth an extra dollar or so to get it elsewhere. If you've never been, here are some tips to make your visit go more smoothly. - bring a quarter for a cart. You'll get it back, but it's their way of encouraging patrons to return their own cart as opposed to having employees do it - They don't accept credit. This threw me for a loop at my first visit, but I've now adjusted. I think it's only debit or cash - unsure about personal checks. - Bring your own bags and expect to do your own bagging. Again, a way for them to streamline checkouts and eliminate cost on their end. read more

I love aldi. I am so glad I started shopping here. Not only do they have great deals on food but they have household items as well. It seems like every week they have something their selling that's new! One week it will be outdoor things and the next household organization products. I love the variety of food. They have off brand items that taste the exact same as the real true brand that you find at your typical grocer but for half the price! It's great. I've never had any issues with their produce. I don't get my meat from here just because I prefer a certain brand. I do however buy cheese and my husband likes chicken sausages that I buy from aldi. They even have wine and beer that you can purchase. Their wine selection is good and of course a great price! You should def check out aldi you will be surprised at what you can find. Just remember to have a quarter on you if you want a cart. If you don't want a cart make sure you have reusable bags so you can put your purchase in the bags! read more

Next time you go to Aldi pick up some ribs that already has been cooked and has BBQ sauce on them. Cut the plastic on the end (slanted) and squeeze out the extra barbeque sauce. Place them on the grill for 5 minutes each side and then put the extra barbeque sauce on them. If you do this before anyone arrives they will think you barbequed them thoroughly. These ribs are to die for! Very very scrumptuous! Love Aldies compared to bigger grocery stores. First timers remember to take your own bags or buy one big one from Aldi. They do have boxes that you can use to put your groceries in. I don't go here for everything, because basically the foods are all off brands, but once you get the bill for whatever you are purchasing you also will love Aldi. Remember to take a quarter so you can rent a cart - you get your quarter back once you return the cart. Also, I don't think they take credit cards, but they do take debit cards. read more

I LOVE ALDI. This store has changed my life. Amazing deals on products and the nicest staff. Everything you need without walking a around for hours. I never need to go to meijer or Walmart again! I love the deals they have every week! I saw a cookware set in December and I'm still kicking myself for not buying it. No memebership to buy and I'm in and out without any hassle at all! I love the Aldi store in Canton.. it is clean, and you can get the best bang for the buck there. In particular, i would recommend the seafood section; e.g. salmon patties (no preservatives, 100% natural and smoked - i am not a fan of salmon but these are something), breakfast items (yummy cinnamon stix!)
