This is the first place I saw white strawberries (several years ago) and on my most recent visit I found fresh soursop in a bottle! I am so excited to try it as I love soursop, and it's kind of a pain to eat and prepare. My favorite quality of this store is its local focus. I popped in here for a couple of bags of groceries for a weekend getaway. I wanted high quality, unique items, and Westborn delivered. On top of that, most of them were locally produced, even better. They have local staples like Sander's chocolates, but lots of lesser known ones, too. The daily prepared meals continue to shine (bourbon glazed chicken thighs, mac and cheese, roasted vegetables). They also have vegetable and fruit trays, freshly cut. Though I skipped them this time, you continue to find a lot of in-house and brought in sweets and treats, a sizable wine and beer selection (basement), and a good amount of staples (that will be pricey). They also have lovely fresh flowers and plants for gifting or to light up your own life.

So, even though the regular prices are fairly high, like most grocery stores these days, I feel like I save money here. The pharmacy is good, and it also has a savings plan that I use on a good percentage of my prescriptions. I've gotten multiple vaccines here, too, like flu shots, a pneumococcal vaccine, and for Covid. One time, it was late in the evening and I ran out of printer paper during an urgent task, and it occurred to me to check Kroger, and they had it for a reasonable price. The employees are generally polite; never any significant problem. Overall, it's reliable and one of my go-to grocery stores.

Trying to get gas at their fuel station is even worse. You have to wait in a queue (for some reason) like gas is scarce these days or something. There's an off-putting smell that hits you as soon as you walk in the door of the store itself. Their aisles are too close together and weirdly organized. The biggest issue with this company is their rude employees. I could forgive many things, but not rudeness. I will never understand how this company became the largest grocery chain in the US. On top of all their other glaring issues, their prices aren't even good. Do not shop at Kroger if you can avoid it. Even once a year is too much, honestly.
