Meijer is my go-to store, especially when it's late in the evening and I need to grab something last minute. Their extended hours make it incredibly convenient for families like mine. I almost always find what I need here, great quality, wide selection, and especially handy when my kids suddenly need something for school, like a themed outfit or supplies. I can count on Meijer to have it. The store is clean, well-organized, and the customer service is friendly and helpful. They offer both self-checkout and staffed counters, making the billing process smooth and flexible, which I really appreciate. I've never had any issues shopping here. They also offer some great deals on produce, and one of my favorite sections is the plant corner. I've picked up several beautiful plants over time and always look forward to checking it out. Worst deli in the business. 3 times they have burned us now. Don't ask for something shaved as they will lie to your face with a smile as they shave half of your lunch meat and hide the other unshaved portion at the bottom of the bag. Lazy culture comes from the top and clearly the Deli Manager & The Store Manager are just going through the motions as their negligence has allowed this culture to exist. I was looking for a replacement exercise stretch band because mine finally broke, after ten years...yes I did actually use it! Ordering on line would cost more with shipping than I should be able to find it locally. I searched sporting goods stores then checked Meijer on line and found what I wanted for about $11. We were in Canton for an appointment my wife had and I found this Meijer about a mile away so off I went. It is set back behind some other stores and restaurants bordering Ford Road so you have to know that Meijer is there (thanks GPS) and pull in there. If you regularly shop at Meijer you know the typical layout and that some layouts are mirror images but still sort of familiar. Upon entering, I showed my broken stretch band to the friendly greeter who pointed me in the direction of sporting goods where I quickly found what I was looking for, $10.99! Like most Meijer stores, in addition to a consistent layout, the departments are clearly Mark making it easy to navigate. Of course, along the way to and from Sporting Goods I found a few other items I needed: Brownberry Double Fiber Bread, Maple Bourbon Bacon (on sale!), etc and when I left I had spent just over $77 total! Let's start with the good. The greeter and cashiers are usually friendly, so the first and last impression of the store are favorable. Meijer also stocks products from many different categories, so it's one-stop shopping if they have everything in stock. However, after coming here for the past twenty years, this Meijer and I are parting ways for anything but quick trips. Products are often out of stock for weeks on end. Sale items are often sold out on the 1st or 2nd day of a new ad. They should know how to order in advance after this many years in business. On another note, products are moved so often that if I don't come for a couple weeks I have difficulty finding things. One thing that really bothers me is that if something is on sale let's say 2/$5, you used to be able to buy 1 for $2.50. Now you have to buy 2 to get the discount. I usually don't need the quantity required to get the discount so I just don't buy it. Another inconvenience is that items marked on sale often don't ring up on sale. What's more frustrating is that if you shop after 8 p.m. they tell you to drive all the way back to the store the next day to have the mistake they made fixed because customer service closes at 8. I had a problem with a Meijer-brand product purchased at this location that posed a health risk and got the run-around from corporate via email for a month. They sent me programmed answers that meant nothing and then stopped replying. That's a corporate customer service problem which seems to be reflected at the store level. I'd honestly just rather pay a little more elsewhere to get better service and because the competition doesn't seem to run out of products I want like this Meijer does. They are remodeling the Meijer store at I-96 and Middlebelt.. That means no more fresh seafood counter..everything will be pre-packaged.. ....Ive been to other Meijer stores in the area and they are beautiful....but difficult to find things as the aisles are broken up.. This store is smaller.. so may not have enough room to do that..Just sorry to lose that fresh seafood counter.. last of old school getting fresh fish wrapped in butcher paper... read more

They have recently renovated the store and it's nice. The new organization takes some getting used to, but it is 100% better than the dreary, drab old store. Generally, you can find what you may need. They still have a lot of empty shelves. This was even when there wasn't a supply chain issue. The customer service is still hit or miss. I do love the MPERKS and the coupons/rewards. Location is great. read more

The new modern look is clean and makes the place appear larger. However, now I can never find anything and it took away some of the nostalgia. read more

The store was kinda dirty and could have used a nice deep clean. The pricing is pretty competitive to other grocery stores in the area. Along with carrying groceries, the also sell clothes, shoes, toys and they have a pharmacy. I love the fact that you can get almost anything you need and you only have to go to one store. It was very busy today and they do not have enough self scanners. Hope they are able to add some more soon to improve the shopping experience for their customers. I went to Meijer and ended up purchasing some shoes for my upcoming wedding. I went to the self check out and realized I forgot my coupon in my car. Lana was the cashier helping out and I have to say I do believe she went above and beyond. She kept a smile on her face the entire time. waited for me to return with my coupon, helped me when it was giving me issues AND she was helping others with the same genuine smile at the same time. Well organized and somehow just a better Meijer than Belleville. Love the new Michigan products areas and the Meijer Gold products. As with all Meijers, I love their store brand cold meats sliced to order, they are quality and bargain priced regularly, sometimes they are a downright steal. Compare to Boar's Head and you may save on sandwiches. The produce here is well organized and also of very good variety. I like all the different lettuces they carry now and the odder collection of fruits and veggies. I can also generally find all the fresh herbs I like to cook with as well as whole ginger roots. The international foods section is better than it used to be, still not 100% of what you can find specialty but you can find much more than in years past. This Meijer in particular, I find, tends to stock better products for the Indian and Asian populations in Canton, which this girl also appreciates :). I find the bakery products, especially breads, fresher here. I can easily hunt down my elusive yogurt flavors and fresh bags of nuts for a comparitive song. They have a better selection of cheeses lately and occasionally I can score a real surprise cheaply. I am not a huge fan of the clothes or anything but I have gotten various gadgets and books I need. My lone pet peeve with this place is the new Meijer layout that requires you to cross an entire store to get things like toothpaste. Sigh. It's not gourmet but it is convenient and runs very economically. Again, it beats Belleville but let's face it, that's not a huge challenge. read more

They have everything in Meijer's and they were here FIRST!~ You can post a letter to the post office and get some frozen foods while you browse over the new make up and even clothing that they carry. Ok....it may not be the very best quality in clothing, but the food they sell is always fresh and mostly wonderful, if you are asking me...you didn't...but I'm gonna tell you anyways, OK? OK... soooo if you are in a hurry...you don't want to go to Meijers because it is a HUGE shopping spot and if you have a cart ful of groceries and your 2 1/2 yr old says she has to "go potty NOW mommy"!! You really have a long jaunt to the bathrooms! So remember that "mommies" ...it happened to me a bit while back! If you shop on Sunday or Monday, those are the great low volume "people" times to shop, or even in the later evenings! Don't go on Friday nights because the place is crazy busy and they are always out of everything on Friday nights! I have a place in my heart for this Meijers store as when I was a young teenager we moved to Canton in 1975. It was the ONLY store around for miles except for a little "party store" here or there. Hot mess. Lack of stock both with hard goods and food. Not enough staff anywhere for help. The deli is a joke. This store has hit the skids a number of years ago, and it's pathetic now. I never thought I see something worse than a Walmart, but I found it 8/16. Still a hot mess. Three People behind the counter at the deli, three customers, and there's still a 10 minute wait. I cannot understand it. Go to the customer service counter for assistance, there are seven people in line, with one person behind the desk trying to handle the crowd. She did not attempt to get additional help, employees were walking in front of and thru the line to get to the back, obviously saw the crowd, yet nobody was able to do anything. It's not worth it. Really enjoy coming to the Meijer. The staff is always nice and helpful. Customer Service desk never give issues or hassles when you have to return or exchange anything. Meijer has a great inventory of all the products and usually find exactly what you're looking for. Lines go by pretty quickly and unlike WalMart more than half the register lanes are staffed plus you have the U-Scan lanes usually always open. Apple doesn't work at any of the terminals. They accept it but always errors out. Which I find really annoying. As the Chip takes awhile to read/approve. read more

I've been shopping here for a few years now. It's ok. It's a one-stop shop for most things I need. The problem I have is that as long as I've been going here I'm almost always overcharged on sales items or items rang up twice. I bought this to the attention of the district manager and store manager after the 5th time. Usually, the cashiers will direct you to the customer service desk when you are overcharged but after waiting in a long customer service line 5 times, I didn't want to do that anymore. Last time I was there, I checked my receipt and was overcharged 1 item out of 10 items purchased. I think I've learned my lesson. Check your receipt when you check out. Other than that, I like the prices, items in stock and cashiers. read more

Unfortunately, I do not live in Michigan anymore. One of the things I miss the most is to go to Meijer. There really are not any 24 x7 places around in the Bay Area like Meijer. For those that do not know Mejier, think of a Target or Wal-Mart with a regular supermarket inside. Yes, these exist in certain states, but not all. The prices are comparable and sometimes better than Target and Wal-Mart. This store in Canton is very clean and in a good location. It's very easy to get to and also has a gas station. read more

Meijer was the very first--and in my opinion--the only "Super Store"---pre Target, pre Walmart. It used to be called Meijer Thrifty Acres, but changed its name to just Meijer at some point in the 1980's I think. The store on Ford Road used to be surrounded by farms and fields. As a teen growing up in the suburbs there weren't many 24 hr. hangouts for us besides Denny's, Dunkin' Doughnuts and Meijer. Well, we had Ann Arbor which was close by. But I digress. Now, Canton has more subdivisions filled with houses that are various shades of beige and tan than it knows what to do with as well as a Target, Ikea and Walmart (all on Ford Road). I grew up not far from this particular store and now every time I sojourn to Canton to see my parents I have to make a trek to Meijer. Where else can one purchase motor oil, live goldfish, make-up, clothes, wine, AND groceries at relatively low prices? MEIJER, of course! The cashiers are quite friendly and will actually strike up a conversation with you at the checkout (or you can use the self checkout). I usually forget where I am and realize that complete strangers *can* be nice and then I can let down my guard. Ah, Midwestern charm...I really miss it sometimes (actually it's the manners that I miss). My mom usually comes with me (because why would I want to drive when I don't *have* to?) and chuckles when I keep exclaiming at how cheap everything is compared to NYC. So, if you're ever in MI, IN, IL, or OH and see a Meijer, I suggest you stop in and shop under fluorescent light. Don't forget they're open 24 hours. Bonus! Don't do curbside pick up. There are 2 drive thru lanes like a bank. I was on hold 50 minutes after sitting in line 20 minutes to find out my item wasn't in stock. The line is held up by people with large orders, which are taking staff forever to bring to the car. Staff must be overwhelmed. I secretly revel whenever my monthly spa appointments at New Face New Body shuttle me out to Canton. Meijer sits right across Ford Road from the spa, and I stop in afterwards to fill my tank and my cupboards. Canton gas prices are atrocious, so save yourself a few pennies at the pump before braving the wilds of I-275 on a weekend. Here's a Meijer where I can usually find what I want in the place the product should be, rather than a stream of empty shelves and misplaced goods. Having stocked products and good prices are plusses in my book. This Meijer could be several years old, but regular renovations or gentle handling on the part of the neighbours leave it a youthful store in fine repair. Well lit and well organized, this one bookends my experience against the horrors of Southfield Meijer on Telegraph, which I wouldn't send anyone but my worst enemies and foreign dictators into. The quintessential Michigan megastore with the "Everything under one roof" mentality is alive and well here. Ducking in for a few snacks is faster with the advent of self check-out (just avoid round yoghurt containers), though you can still do your daily walking workout with two or three circuits around the outer perimeter. This Meijer ticks off all the essentials I need in a grocery store: good prices, expansive dairy and frozen section, fresh(ish) produce (let's face it, you're not going to get Whole Foods or Eastern Market freshness in March at any Meijer), and good drugstore section. Sale items are clearly marked and usually present, rather than being gaping tunnels in a seven foot tall wall of stock. I rarely venture into the clothing or hardware sections but they seem to be equally well set out, and I've run across many household items I need but forget to buy or find elsewhere. Sink strainer? Check. No fat milk? Check. Vacuum cleaner bags? Check. 10 yogurts and two pints of strawberries? No trouble here. I find the staff are more present and quicker here, though there are still sluggish moments. Is it just me or are there more cash registers open at all times as well? Maybe I'm laid back from the loving care of the gracious ladies at New Face New Body, or prepared to deal with the onslaught of weekend Ikea traffic, but I don't seem to leave this supermarket as frazzled as other Meijers can often make me. I have been impressed with the associates at Meijers on Ford Road in Canton, Michigan for over 40 years. This morning was "frosting on the cake". Associate, Debbie, in the grocery department helped me locate an item I was not able to find for quite some time. She told me that Meijer potato sticks were being discontinued. She said, however, she would look in the back and see if there were any left. She did look (twice) and found 6 bags. Thank you so much, Debbie for going over and beyond the call of duty. I really appreciate your extra effort. I wish Meijers would continue to sell their potato sticks in large cans like the used to a long time ago, but employing associates like Debbie will always keep me coming back to my favorite Meijers. I miss Meijer so much now that I don't live near one and I'm forced to go to Wal Mart. Meijer has everything it seems for a fair price and decent quality. I don't like buying food from Wal-Mart, but Meijer I actually trust. They may have gotten rid of it, but buying snacks in bulk bags was AMAZING and saved me so much money. As far a grocery store chains go, I mostly frequent this particular Meijer. I go here because I have never had a truly awful experience. Their prices are fair and if you use your MPerks you can sometimes earn rewards like $3 off your next visit. On top of this, this meijer has a mostly friendly staff. I am always greeted coming in by the same few people to whom I am now on a familiar basis with. The store itself seems to be always clean and there is always a worker every few aisles or so, unless it's late at night but that is obviously expected. The only thing I have ever had an issue with is with certain items being priced wrong which causes an inconvenience for me later down the line during check out. Overall though, I feel comfortable grocery shopping here, it's in a good area and the prices are just fine, especially when they have a good sale going on! read more

One of the most convenient super stores within the area and a great competitor to Walmart; sometimes even offering cheaper prices for the same products. I've seen other Meijer's have a Subway or other quick food options inside, sadly this one is lacking in that regard but you can't deny that it's a great store and well-managed. read more

I shopped online and scheduled a pickup. When I arrived I was informed they hadn't shopped my groceries yet and most likely wouldn't get to it until next morning. I agreed to pick up next morning. My order had been canceled when I called the next morning and I was told there was not enough staff to get my order completed. I was provided with corporate number to complain. It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't heard from management. I've sent multiple emails with no response. I understand times are tough with covid. I loved going to this Meijer. It's not the store closest to me but I wanted to try the curbside service as I've heard wonderful things. It was SO AMAZING! I had almost no wait and the staff was truly incredible. They were so kind. I had one small issue with some fruit I purchased (it's a bad time of year and I didn't know if anything could really be done about the problem) but they went above and beyond to get me taken care of. On the entrance to Meijer store in Canton MI there is a bold sign that states that shoppers are required to wear masks. But I noticed quite a few shoppers who did not wear facial masks. I think the store should enforce this policy and not allow people to enter the store unless they are wearing a mask. read more

For the first time in months I entered this store because I was tired of the new curbside service telling me they didn't have certain items in stock. On Sunday evening I was trying to place an order but was only able to get about 8 items totaling $22.00. So I cancelled that and went to the store myself in the morning and found everything I wanted the night before but the computer said wasn't there. For this customer convenience platform to be successful the bugs need to be eliminated quicker than they are and the store inventory must be in its entirety on the system. Even the speaker you use to identify that you have arrived has been out of order for over a month and we must use our cell phone to call in to inform the staff we have arrived. Why?? Fix your damn equipment. I don't always travel with my phone. August 7, 2016 I live 1/2 mile from Westland meijers by drive to canton because they have more mobility carts for those who can't walk distances. The last three times including today my cart died some place in the grocery aisles. I empty my purchases into a regular cart then abandon the beeping cart. Not once has a Meijer employee ever offered assistance or apologized for incident. Not really sure what this staff of people are really doing here anyway. It appears they family standards have been allowed to slip away or the upper management is blind when visiting this store. 1. It is the dirtiest store I go to 2. On more than one occasion I have seen badly molded veggies out on the display. 3. Not rotating product. Today I chose a chocolate milk gallon that expired 9 days earlier!!!! 4. A cart chaser should have been fired at least 5 years ago for inappropriate guest contact but he is still on the job 5. The floors are dirty 6. The produce section is always lacking bags to put product in 7. Self scanners are as effective as DOS computers 8.
