I ordered my groceries. They came when they were ready. I got what I ordered. When they came they were fresh and delicious.

This Aldi's location has just installed self-checkout lanes, yay! I love to run into Aldi's when I need to grab just a few items, so the self-checkout lanes are a welcome option. If you haven't been inside an Aldi's recently you should stop by and check it out. They carry much more produce, including organic options, than they used to. In past years I had not been much of an Aldi's fan because I cook mostly from scratch, and I seldom buy canned food or boxed mixes. The old Aldi's carried little produce and fresh items, mostly just canned and frozen. But they have updated, and besides the fresh produce they now offer all kinds of healthy options. They even offer gluten free crackers, bread, snacks and other items if you happen to be gluten free. There are also meatless frozen selections and Keto too. Personally I like that shoppers have to put a quarter into the shopping cart, it definitely encourages shoppers to return their carts to get their quarter returned. You don't see the parking lot full of abandoned carts like other parking lots. While I don't do the majority of my shopping here, I do run in often to grab some fresh produce or other items. Easy to get in, grab a few things, pay at the self-service register and get out and on with your day. read more

Aldi makes me feel very strange. It's a bizarro grocery store. The items on the shelves look like one thing, but they're actually another. Does this sound confusing? Let me explain with an example: I saw a box of white cake on the shelves. On first glance, looked like it was Pillsbury brand. The box was the signature Pillsbury blue, the font was Pillsbury-esque, the images were arranged to look like they would on a Pillsbury box. But a closer look revealed that it was not Pillsbury. It was an Aldi (or maybe another generic?) brand made to look like Pillsbury. Now, I never buy Pillsbury, because I prefer to make my cakes from scratch. But it bothered me a lot that Aldi was trying to trick me into buying something based on a quick glance. Why go through the trouble of trying to make your food look like other kinds of food? It's just very unsettling. Like other people have said, this is a no-frills store. The shelves are made out of cardboard boxes, in most cases. There's no music. The store is dimly lit. You have to pay for a shopping cart. It's rather dreary, to be honest. I've been to Aldi twice: once to check it out, and another time a few years later to see if it had changed from my first experience. Nope. It's still strange and depressing. I think people like Aldi because of the prices, but in my opinion, the price difference between Aldi and, say, Kroger, is negligible, especially when you take into account sale prices at other stores. read more

About half of the produce items I get from Aldi go bad within a few days. #disappointing But it's a great place to pick up cheeses for a party and lobster. Yes, lobster! A whole lobster in the freezer section for $9.99. It was delicious too. Other items I love: *the layered bean dip *low sodium taco seasoning *ground turkey *blackberries (only thing that seems to last in produce) *orange juice I love that you must bring your own bags because this planet needs fewer gross plastic bags floating around. Aldi has an amazing history. Check it out sometime. I actually been to an Aldi in Germany and it's pretty much the same set up there. read more

oh Aldi, your such a great little no frills kind of store. It's a small store with a great variety of items. All the catagories of things you find at a large grocery in a small store. They don't have all the options and varieties, but they do have the bases covered. Any items are off brand or private label. Many items are great deals! I also love the Aldi's finds. If you haven't been to Aldi, you don't know what you're missing. They have a such a great selection of grocery items, including beer and wine, fresh produce, cheeses, fresh meats, baked goods and everything in between. You can also find non-grocery items here and the selection changes regularly. Right now, they had a bunch of outdoor living things including a canopy for over a grill. It's fun to go in regularly, just to see what new things they have. And the prices! Oh my. Where else can you get a 12 ounce package of sea scallops the size of silver dollars for $9.99. OK, they are frozen, but still. I've seen eggs for as low as $0.29 before. They are at $0.69 right now, but you never know when the price will drop back down again (not that $0.69 isn't a good deal in itself). The quality of the products is good including the fresh produce and fresh meats. I loved the feel of this location with spacious aisles and fresh market-style signage. If you have money to burn, this isn't your place. But if you like to stretch your dollar, save money and still enjoy good products....welcome to Aldi! read more

What do you want for Christmas? Me? Well, I asked for a gift card to Aldi's. I love it that much. It reminds me of the 6 months we lived in Switzerland and Aldi was king. The simplicity, the floor plan, the produce and cheese selections and random rotating European sweets, noodles, etc. Aldi is a great example of the saying "less is more". Aldi 101 for Beginners: -25cents to "rent" and return your cart -paper/plastic bags must be purchases (aka save the planet and bring your own reusable totes) -Aldi is now rivaling Whole Foods for the most organic products on shelves -their Organic Whole Milk will blow your mind - fun fact: it lasts for like two months? -try something new: Aldi is chock full of German/Austrian items like Christmas cookies with Star Anise and spaetzl -very affordable wine sold here (winter months -- pick up the Guhlwein) -if you love Trader Joe's, you'll probably love Aldi's (owned by the same company) -you'll also find home items like toilet paper, lady products, shampoo, etc. This particular location is especially spiffy (one could credit its Carmel location and the fact that its on the newer side). Dear world, can you please build an Aldi's in Fountain Square? (wouldn't that be amazing?) I am an avid ALDI shopper, but had never been to this specific location before! First off, great location and close to so many other shops! Second, the store was very clean and I thought in comparison to other ALDI's had lots of room in the aisle. I found the selection to be excellent (I shopped on a Sunday Night) and the cashiers speedy. Lots of great fall food items in-stock, too! I will definitely be making this my home ALDI! read more

Food and Prices here are UNbeatable. However, a particular worker borderline sexually harassed my sister. While checking out, the male worker (about 19 yrs, about 5'10", blonde skaterboi hair, and wearing a t-shirt two sizes too small) began to make inappropriate, totally out of context comments to my sister (about 23 yrs old, petite, a true american beauty). He said to her "My eyes are up here." She has been looking for her credit card in her purse when this appalling and out of the blue comment was made. Myself and another customer were left traumatized and flabbergasted. We hurried to collect our groceries and scurried home. Please remind your employees to not sexually harass, even if they have beautiful eyes. Maybe my sister just didn't like to look at him. Thank you and God Bless America. read more

Aldi is no frills but I'm a regular. The produce does go bad quickly, but this is a solid spot for getting other things on your list. We split our grocery shopping between a few stores, so I don't mind getting the things at the best price here. We always get: Italian turkey sausage (so good!), salad mix, olive oil, dried pasta, Stok cold brew, eggs, lunch meat, frozen veg. They have a solid seasonal aisle where we've found well-priced items like a coated cast iron 9x13 for $10 that has held up with a ton of use. I also love that you have to bring your own bags (even though I sometimes forget or come to buy one thing and it never happens). Keep a quarter in your car for a cart. read more

Updated- bumped up to five stars now that their freezers are full of goodies!! Woo hoo! My family found a killer key lime cheesecake. As key lime fans, this was a win. Aldi does often rotate out little treats like this, so there is always something new worth trying. I'm dumbfounded as to how Aldi is the hidden gem of grocery stores. Great quality food at super low prices? Sign me up! I'm so happy they opened this location so close to my house instead of going all the way over to Noblesville to shop. Aldi has upped its game with their stock of organic and gluten-free items. They also have a new baby section, so all the Whole Foods-loving suburban moms can easily find all their goodies here! The store was recently renovated and reorganized, so it's taken me a while to get used to the new layout. The reason for the four stars as opposed to five is that their freezers have been half empty since he renovation. Not sure what's up with that. read more

Aldi in a nutshell: No frills, discount grocery store. Recently started accepting credit cards for the first time ever. If you want a shopping cart, pay a quarter to release a cart, but you get your quarter back (cuts down on costs for the store!) It weirdly reminded me of a much smaller scale version of Costco, without a membership requirement and bulk items. Warehouse feel with some name brands, but mostly generic brands and limited selection. If you are looking to save money but don't want to buy a Costco membership or buy everything in bulk, I can see this being a good alternative. Because it's in Carmel, it seems cleaner and less sketchy than other Aldi's in Indy. read more

I have grown to love Aldi now and the quality has so greatly improved as well as the selection of organic foods and a small selection of steaks. I do not normally buy my steaks here but have been so pleased with the quality of everything else that I thought I would try a bacon wrapped filet and a NY strip. My boyfriend is a GM of a restaurant and he loves filets. The package comes with 2 and I believe they were $8.99. He could barely eat the first one. The bacon was hiding a lot of fat and sinew, which should have been trimmed off. The second one was a little better but he wasn't happy with his meal. Just be careful when buying steaks.., read more

They have a lot of off brand foods which is a great bang for your buck but sometimes they are nasty. On a positive note, I know that this store will take back any food if you want to return it, even if you just did open it! (: They just remodeled and it looks fantastic - a lot more room now and more options. The staff here is always very ready and willing to go above and beyond. Finally an Aldi closer to home!!! I've been an Aldi shopper for years & still can't believe how much they get into such small stores! Then again there isn't one side of one entire aisle dedicated to 500 different cereals or breads. Though small they carry almost all the staples you'd need & have some more "exotic" items (hummus, goat cheese, Jalapeno Artichoke dip to name a few). Their deli-style pizzas are large, reasonably priced & REALLY GOOD!!! Spices (paprika, cumin, garlic powered, ground red pepper, et. al.) run about $1 compared to the $2+ at other groceries. The produce is usually fresher than some other grocery chains. There is a small selection of beer/wine as the back of the store & a section of one aisle that has an assortment of household products...everything from skillets, shower caddies, & scissors to clocks, jumper cables & laminating machines. There's a very small section for discounted merchandise as well. To the nay-sayers I say "Hush!" So you bag/box you're own groceries, you do in the self-check outs at Kroger & Wal-Mart too. I like using their empty boxes to pack my groceries. Haven't had anything rolling about in the back of my car or a box rip apart. Arranging items to fit is much like doing a tangram puzzle but it doesn't take long to learn. Have yet to see an Aldi with a shopping cart in the lot because of the quarter system they use. Sometimes people will just give another person their cart upon returning it. Saves a bit of time & it's just a quarter...no big deal. read more

We are long time Aldi shoppers. This Aldi is particularly nice in terms of selection. Good selection of healthy options (e.g., quinoa, flax seed) in comparison with other Aldi stores we've been to across the country, as well as good prices on staples (e.g., milk, eggs, canned beans rice) that we expect from Aldi. The staff at this store are also very friendly and helpful. If you've not shopped at an Aldi before, there are a few things to know. Use of a grocery cart requires the deposit of a quarter, which you get back when you return cart. If you don't have a quarter you can get change at the register. Just wait at the register, and the cashier will give you change between customers. In the past, they've accepted only cash or debit, but this seems to be changing. Bags are available at a cost (usually 5-10 minutes).You can also bring your own, or you can grab an empty box. All products are store brands. Downside is you usually cannot get a favorite brand (except for specials). Upside is you're not having to choose between 50 kinds of peanut butter. Overall, Aldi is great for shopping I a time and financial budget, and this location is nice as well. read more

No frills grocery store. No bags, no credit cards, nothing. That's all good. It's not obvious to me how much I am saving if I am buying the same branded items. Yes, the off-brands are definitely less, but you can get those at regular grocery stores too. And it's not obvious to me how much the off-brands at Aldi are compared to regular grocery stores. I was just in there browsing, waiting for the family in Michael's. I wasn't prepared to compare prices on stuff item by item. But the store was very clean and checkout was fast. read more

I guess everything in Carmel is nicer... including the Aldi? I absolutely love this location. I think the building must be bigger, because this one just feels more spacious. I also like the layout a lot more, and people are so friendly!! While I also love the Aldi's on 52nd and Keystone, you are bound to run into some not-so-nice people at that location. This one? Went to Aldi for first time to check it out. I was simply killing time but grabbed a snack. One item. Two people ahead of me with fairly full carts and two people in the only other open line. The clerk walked around to place closed lane sign and told me he was actually closing. Of course someone else had jumped into the now only open lane. Unbelievably bad customer service. read more

Cleanest, most organized Aldi in the Indy area! Great selection with plenty of registers opening when a line forms. Biggest downfall is the parking lot - it is in a busy area so you have to cross traffic to go inside which is fine but cats don't stop, people putting carts away don't car if you are turning and go when you can't see them. It can be challenging backing up too when people leave their carts parallel in the road verses turning it side ways. read more

This is the nicest and best run Aldi's I have ever been too. I'm new to Aldi - within a year or so - and the concept - selection, and especially the sales are perfect. This location has great staff, very clean, very organized. Not usually crowded either and patrons are nice and seems to all like Aldi's too. I have tried a few others around town and they don't seem up to par with this one on overall appearance or operations. I give 5 stars because after a year it's always been an enjoyable experience - the savings and selections are great and importantly the staff is always 100% on top of everything. read more

I fall at Aldi grocery store because of water on the floor. The general store manager at the Westfield Indiana acknowledge to the Aldi's insurance claim department that there was water on the floor and the claims department denied that there was water and refused to do anything to compensate me for my fall. The head manager in the claims department tried to blame me for falling and said there wasn't water on the floor when the first claims agent said the general store manager acknowledge the water. So don't expect Aldi's to actually knowledge an accident you have at their store unless you have I witnesses and photos to prove it. Zero stars from me. read more

Let's consider this a 3.5 star review for Aldi. Their prices are great, they get nice seasonal selections, the food quality of their private label stuff is generally excellent. Not the best for produce but the stuff in season is fine. I tend to frequent Fresh Thyme when I need a bunch of produce otherwise Aldi is great for the usual stuff. I like the smaller size of the store, don't mind using my own bags, and the quarter deposit on a shopping cart ensures you don't get some wonky rattletrap that's impossible to steer around the store. A couple of areas of improvement: the wine/beer selection is poor at this store. Some stores have a really nice selection of decent quality, excellent value wine. Not this store. They're having trouble keeping the store regularly stocked. If you go on a Sunday night or Monday it will look like wolves ran loose in the store and ate most of everything. Aldi is on a big expansion bender, opening more stores in an aggressive growth plan. Aldi- be careful that you can execute on this! You're getting interest from new customers, try to meet, if not exceed their expectations by having a reasonably reliable supply of the common items. All said though, this has become my go-to market. The big grocery stores kind of overwhelm me now. Looking forward to further improvements from this intriguing company. read more
